MARCUS MANSION**
Rafael sat down in front of Camila, who was staring at the untouched food on the dining table.
“The maids told me you wonβt eat. Are you trying to kill yourself before the wedding?” he asked, his tone laced with impatience.
“Iβm just trying to stay in shape so I can fit into my wedding gown,” Camila replied nonchalantly, then turned to face him. “What kind of wedding are we planning?” she asked.
“I was thinking of a simple wedding, just a few people,” Rafael responded, caressing her cheek.
Camila smirked. “I was hoping you’d say a grand wedding and invite everyone. I never got the chance to have one of those,” she mumbled, her voice filled with unspoken longing.
Rafael opened his mouth to speak, but she cut him off. “I thought you promised to give me whatever I want. If a lavish wedding is too much to ask, then Iβm sorry I even brought it up!” Camila stood up, her anger flaring, and stormed off to her room. She locked herself inside and rushed to the bathroom, barely managing to hold back the sickness she had been fighting.
Afterward, she washed her face, staring at her reflection in the mirror.
“Camila, do you know what you’re doing?” she whispered to herself.
There was a knock at the door, and she quickly wiped her face before heading to answer it. It was Rafael.
“Whatever you want, my love, we will have a grand wedding ceremony,” Rafael said, his tone softening. She couldnβt help but smile.
“Thank you,” Camila replied, stepping forward to hug him. She pressed a light kiss to his cheek. Rafael tried to pull her into a deeper kiss, but she pulled away, clutching her stomach in pain.
“Whatβs wrong?” he asked, worry clouding his expression. “Should I call a doctor?”
“No, Iβm on my period, and it gets really painful. I just need to lie down,” Camila replied, slowly making her way to the bed. She lay down, turning to face the other side.
Rafael came to check on her, but his phone rang just then.
“Iβll check on you later,” he said softly, before leaving the room to answer the call.
Camila sighed, closing her eyes as she tried to settle in.

WILLIAMS’ RESIDENCE***
“Careful,” George said as he guided Lucia down the stairs. When they reached the bottom, he collided with a panicked-looking Pani Karolina.
“Whatβs the matter?” he asked, concerned.
“Itβs your father, George. He wants to see you urgently,” Karolina replied, her voice tight with worry.
George nodded, quickly pecking Lucia on the cheek before heading toward his fatherβs room. The urgency in Karolinaβs voice told him that it was time.
“George,” Mr. Williams called weakly when George entered.
“Itβs okay, Dad,” George said, taking his fatherβs hand and holding it gently.
“Thank you for coming back… and for not giving up on yourself,” Mr. Williams whispered, coughing weakly. “I donβt have the right to tell you who you should be or not be.”
“Dad, itβs okay,” George said softly, his voice thick with emotion.
“Iβd really like to meet your second family… and thank them,” Mr. Williams continued before coughing again, his breath shallow. “And Lucia… sheβs a keeper. Be sure to treat her well,” he added, his voice trailing off as his hands went numb.
George wiped the tears from his eyes, his heart aching. The door opened, and Juliana rushed in, bursting into tears as she saw her husband. Lucia stood by the door, her eyes filled with sorrow as she watched them.

SOME DAYS LATER; RUIZ ROYAL ESTATE**
“Thank you, Mr. Williams. You wonβt regret working with me,” Alejandro said, extending his hand for a handshake.
“I bet so,” George replied, offering a brief smile before his guards escorted him out of the company. Unlike before, the office wasnβt as empty. Alejandro and George had partnered up, and Alejandro had gained some valuable clients through the deal.
Someone knocked at his office door.
“Come in,” Alejandro called. A lady dressed professionally entered. She was Abigail, his new secretary.
“Mr. Ruiz, this arrived for you,” she said respectfully, placing an envelope on his desk before leaving.
Alejandro opened it. Inside was a wedding invitation from Rafael. The atmosphere around him seemed to shift, growing heavier.
