Bella was lying on the hospital’s bed in pain with alot running into her mind.

The fact she was never going to walk again frightens her.

She was still lost in her thoughts when she heard the door squeaked.

She was expecting it to be the doctor or nurses but to her uttermost dismay, it was a man she couldn’t see clearly as he was a little bit far from her.

He was on a black hoodie and a black trouser and suddenly, he started approaching her majestically with his eyes glued to hers.

Bella summoned the courage to sit up despite the pain and instantly, he was standing in front of her. A low gasp escaped the lips of bella when she saw him vividly.

“You?” She exclaimed placing her palms against her lips.

Karan sighed taking a quick look round the room quietly.

After awhile, he knotted his brows which made her uncomfortable.

“Mr” she called when he had been silent for long.

He was standing mile from her and not staring at her anymore.

“Have we met before?” He asked glancing ginny at her again.

She stared confusingly at him, wondering why he asked.

“Who are you?” She stuttered.

He smirked as his eyes kept on boring into hers, making Bella wonder why he was staring too much at her.

He was looking calm and tensed at same time making bella unable to deny how handsome he was looking.

“I’m Karan Davy” he introduced with his eyes on her bandaged leg.

“Oh, the main boss who crippled me” she snapped furiously.

He stood still, still glancing at her.

She bowed her head pathetically and grew silent.

And just when she was about crying karan interrupted instantly.

“Don’t cry, just answer” he said.

She felt safe with him though she met him today.

He speaks nice.

“Nowhere” she sobbed silently without a glance from him.

Karan looked downwards lost on his thoughts. Was she being seriously? How can a grow up lady don’t have a place.

“Bella, be details with me and stop responding with one word” he proclaimed.

This time Karan was damn cold and serious as he knew at this point his wife rella will be waiting for him. And not just that, he went to see a lady this late triggers him.

The fact he’s with a lady who his wife know nothing about frightens him. He has never been with anyone without telling his wife who he’s with or his whereabouts.

He respects rella so much and both of them always give details about their whereabouts and who they’re gonna meet.

“I have no shelter Mr. I ran away from my workplace when my boss’s husband tries in having his way with me. And i relocated here in capetown on the same day you crippled me” she sobbed loudly.

Heavens knows if he has the power to make one walk again, he would have done that. He felt bad.

Everything was his fault. But somehow, it all happened for a reason, a reason best know to nature. Bella has come into his life for a reason.

Looking at her made her remember someone from his past and it baffles him to think.

“How about your family? Don’t you have anyone?” He asked and wouldn’t deny the fears in her eyes when he asked that.

He gazed at her in doubt wondering why she was scared.

“All gone, everyone is wicked. I hate the life that i live” she lamented loudly.

At this point bella was too loud which got him weak as he stares at the door.

Telling her to stop crying in this condition won’t help knowing fully well she was in pain.

After some minute, she stopped and sniffles simultaneously.

“Do you want me to avenge for you?. To avenge the man that tried to reap you. Do you want me to punish him?” He huffed

“No. He’s still like a family to me. Him and his wife are like a family to me. But I don’t want anything to do with them again” she mumbled a reply while looking downwards.

Karan kept on glancing at her suspicious.

Who’s this lady? Who’s this lady that doesn’t want to avenge a man who made her leave home.

“Or was she scared of something?” He was lost in his thoughts not until she called him.

“Mr,” She called wiping off her tears

“Can you be my responsibility from now on?” He chipped in staring into her eyes.

“I wanna be in charge of your life” he added but she was speechless in shock.

“How do you mean” she asked in stun.

He sighed.

“I crippled you, i wanna be in charge of your life now! From now on, your life belongs to me.

Karan slammed the door making sam stunned by his appearance.

“Boss, is everything alright?” He asked.

“From now on Sam, I will be responsible of the little girl. She was crippled because of us. I’m taking responsibility for what we did. We would shelter for her, give her everything she needs. Everything!” he said and Sam nodded in a sincere agreement.

“Well Sam, I don’t want rella to know about her” he added in guilt.

He never wanted to hide anything from her, but she isn’t an understanding person. She will think he felt something for the lady or properly one of his crush.

She’s a cup full. Despite everything she’s doing, he still loves her and can’t afford in taking that risk in losing her.

“Alright boss. I will inform the others.” He responded knowing the reason he’s hiding bella from rella.

Rella stopped Infront of the mirror and combed her hair. And just when she was good she left the bed room for the living room downstairs.

It’s more than an hour already yet karan nowhere to be seen since he informed her about his coming. She checked the time and was already pissed before ambling towards the table to clear it off when she heard the big gate outside opening.

One doesn’t need to tell her it was him, her karan.

She waited impatiently for him to get in and just as she waited, the living room door opened revealing him.

“Welcome back boss” she greeted disrespectfully.

Yes she was very mad at him and one doesn’t need to tell Karan that.

Infact he could clearly feel the atmosphere even before he walked in.

Why wouldn’t she be mad? She was on a sexy red gown and pairs of heel with a light make-up on for hours now and her dear husband was late.

“Sorry I came late. Something came up that actually needed my attention” He cleared his throat.

She smirked in disbelief knowing fully well he was lying.

She had known Karan for more than ten years now. No one needs to tell her he’s hiding something from her.

Karan is never good at lying no matter how hard he tries. The truth can’t be hidden for long.

“So, I don’t need your attention right?” she asked disgustingly

He was about say saying something but she shut him up.

“Please save your lies to yourself because you and I know you went to see a lady ” she snapped despondently, feeling so frustrated.

He couldn’t say a thing as she was right about what she had just said but Him telling her she’s right will make her leave him forever

The door opened abruptly revealing Matthew with karan’s belongings.

Matthew cleared off his throat as he knew something was off.

Karan shot him a weird glance with Matthew looking tense.

Who knows what she’s about asking him? Matthew knew her so well of asking questions and he wasn’t ready to get himself neither his boss into trouble

“Where did you take your boss to?” she finally asked.

Karan was surprised and couldn’t believe his ears. Was she questioning his guard about his whereabout right in front of him?

“I i when haa” Matthew stuttered while rella watched in disbelief.

“Get out” Karan shrieked at Matthew.

Matthew glanced at him and did as he was told slamming the door behind him.

Rella turned to karan immediately looking so cold. Of course she knew Matthew wouldn’t say a thing.

“Rella, I don’t know what have come over you. Who gave you the right to ask my guard about my whereabout?” karan yelled loudly taking rella by surprise.

Did Karan yell at her. Really!

Karan heaved a deep breath and shrugged. “Sometimes, I try to understand maybe it’s your background that is affecting you but it seems not”

He took another intake of breath and continued. “What happened to the trust we both once had?”

She was shocked by his attitude. Not just his attitude but what he referred her as. Did he just refer her as rella?

“Gosh! I’m now rella? What happened to the sweet Cinderella or my best choice you always called me?” She grunt.

“You are just” he was interrupted by rella.

“Like I said, save your explanations to yourself boss. You can’t earn my trust cause you don’t deserve it one bit” she lashed heading for the stairs.

Karan watched her in stun.

He sat on the couch while staring at the dining which was decorated with roses and food.

Guess she woke up early to prepare all of this. He felt so remorseful.

“I’m sorry Cinderella. I’m sorry for not telling you about bella. Me hiding her from you is to protect our marriage.

“I can’t afford to lose you, not for anyone. You don’t trust me neither will you trust me when I tell you about her.
I promise to earn your trust ” he assured himself before leaving for the stairs.
