Bella was hurling down the stairs.

Karan couldn’t believe his eyes, he ambled forward abit to be sure if it was actually Bella.

Obviously it was her. He ran quickly to her before she could reach the ground. He held her instantly the moment he got to her and narrowed his gaze to the stairs and behold the wheelchair started hurling towards them.

He held unto it immediately before it could even crash on them with his other hand.

A sigh of relief left him when he saw she was still breathing fine.

Bella screamed out as a sharp pain nibbled at her. She was wounded by the edges of the tiles.

Karan thought for a moment how did all of this happen. His guards were suppose to keep a watch on her. Where was Sam? He questioned himself.

“Matthew” Karan called. He was unable to move as he was still holding unto Bella and the wheelchair.

Matthew was outside operating his phone when he heard Karan called his name, he rushed into the house and was puzzled to see the sight in front of him. He was unable to believe his eyes, what just happened? He ran towards them and held unto the wheelchair.

Sam who was busy in the kitchen ran out the moment he heard Karan’s voice calling for Matthew.

Anger masked on karan’s face the moment he got a glimpse of him, Sam.

“Sam” He groused feeling some slight pain in his muscles after Matthew had held unto the wheelchair. After trying to gain back himself he hoisted bella into his arms and placed her carefully on the couch before glaring back at Sam.

“You were in the kitchen when bella lost herself on the floor” karan spatted trying to keep his voice in control

“Boss! I’m sorry, I was busy in the kitchen preparing breakfast for her and I didn’t know when she left her room” Sam apologized in a bow.

Karan ruffles his hair and narrowed his gaze to bella who was still in pain.

“Why did you leave your room?” Karan questioned angrily.

“It was… It was.. was” bella stuttered raising her head up.

“Call the doctor Sam” Karan chipped in taking stride steps backward.

Matthew was looking so confuse. He knew karan was hiding something from him and he could see it clearly.

After two hours, the doctor was done examining bella and prescribed some drugs for her. He walked down the stairs as sam sluggishly followed him.

“Boss I should get her something to eat” Matthew said, leaving Karan and Bella alone in the silent room.

Karan sat at the little chair beside him, his elbows was resting on his laps as he buried his face against his palms.

Vividly he was quiet. He was still angry at the incident that occured two hours back.

What if he had decided not to pay a visit today, what if she had succeeded in falling to the ground and the wheelchair fell on top of her? What if he was a little bit late?. What would he have done?

“Mr” Bella snapped and karan lifted up his buried face from his palms.

Bella lifted up her body from the bed in hurt.

“Mr are you alright?” She inhaled sharply.

“Yes, get some rest” He lied ambling his gaze to the door.

“I’m sorry for getting you worried. I wanted to look at the living room and I didn’t know when i had gotten to the edge of the staircase” She muttered.

“You could have called for sam? He would have carried you to the living room. What if I didn’t arrive on time? Don’t you care about your life and if you don’t care about your life at least think about the people that care about you. What about me? What would I have …” He stopped on his track. What was he even saying?.

Bella stared at him. He was really worried about her. She was about saying something when the door opened revealing Matthew and Sam.

Both glanced at them strangely and no one needed to tell them something had happened before they walked in.

Matthew placed the food Infront of her and she feasted on it without bothering Karan anymore.

She had stressed him a lot since she came into his life. She was glad someone cared for her.

Karan took to his feet walking past Matthew and Sam as he exited the door, Matthew stared at Sam before tracing behind karan.

Bella felt bad he left without a word. Though she wanted to stop him, she restricted not wanting to be a burden to him anymore and the he gaze met with that of sam who was staring back at her.

Mrs Kris, Christopher’s mom was busy staring at the big screen Infront of her as she feasted on her meal.

She haven’t gotten a glimpse of Christopher since morning and she had tried calling him but was to no avail.

She was still lost in her thoughts when the living room door barged open.

Christopher walked in settling beside her, snapping her out of her thought.

“Mom what happened?” He called worriedly.

“Where have you been?” She asked holding his hand.

“I asked a question mom, why is your face this way?” He asked again calmly.

She breathe out sharply “We need a house help son” She responded.

“But mom we don’t have that money to hire one.” He replied. Scratching the scalp of his head.

She faced him surprisedly, clicking her tongue.

“You are dating a wealthy woman chris so don’t tell me such nonsense” She threw weird glaces at him.

“No mom” he yelled

“What’s no mom? since your stupid ex-girlfriend refused to get us a house-help th” The door squeaked open, interrupting her.

Both ambled their gazes to it and a captivating smile escaped Mrs Kris’s lips. Her future daughter in-law is here.

“That’s my daughter in-law” Mrs kris smiled pointing a finger to her.

“Mother in law” Lydia grinned, walking majestically with her red heels towards them.
