Rella approached the kitchen looking dawn so hungry. She didn’t had anything last night due to the argument she had with Karan.
She felt bad for everything that happened last night, it was all her fault. He didn’t even join her upstairs neither has she seen him since she woke up.

She knew they were talking about her and they have every reason to after all they live in same roof with her and her husband. They might have heard the argument of last night.
“I want coffee, Jerry” she ordered one of the chef.
Jerry nodded his head indicating he heard her. He placed the kettle on the cylinder instantly not wanting to provoke her.
“Have you seen my husband this morning” she said to no one in particular.
“No Mrs boss” They responded at once.
Rella sighed, signalling them to continue with what they were doing as she approached the living room.
She wonder where karan might have gone so early without informing her. She was lost in her thought not until she heard distance foot steps.
She turned around and saw matthew approaching the balcony with a briefcase in his hand, she was about calling him but stopped when she felt a sharp pain on her abdomen.
She clutched onto her tummy until the pain was gone. She took an intake of breath before approaching the balcony.
“Mrs boss” Jerry’s voice stopped her on her track.
She winced when the pain niggled at her again but narrowed her gaze to him. “What’s it this time?” She yelled at him.
“Mrs boss we ran out of coffee, I was wondering if you’ll like to take tea?” he stuttered.
Rella smirked angrily “Why didn’t you get some yesterday? You know I hate it whenever we out of stuffs at home” She whispered softly, Jerry glanced at her calmly.
“I’m sorry Mrs boss, I didn’t take note of it” he apologised.
“You know what, you can go I don’t want anything” she muttered as she approached the balcony.
She stood still at the balcony door when she heard Matthew’s voice.
“But boss, you had promised to go see angel today” She heard Matthew say
Rella frowned the moment she heard Matthew made mention of angel. “Who is angel and how come she knows nothing about her?” she uttered inwardly.
“We can go see her later in the day” Karan responded rendering Rella shock. She shut her eyes in disbelief. What kind of see finish is this?
She stood there furiously as matthew made to open the door and was surprised to find Rella standing there.
“Good Morning Mrs” he shuddered looking so tense.
Karan turned around the moment he heard Matthew greeting someone and narrowed his gaze to the balcony.
It was Rella, she was standing majestically with her gaze not leaving Matthew.
“Why are you tense?” Rella asked, knotting her brows.

“You can go Matthew” Karan disrupted immediately.
Rella angled her gaze to Karan who was standing miles away from them. She chuckled at Mathew as she made way for him to pass.
Matthew heaved a deep breath of relief as he shut the door behind them.
“Angel?” She chuckled subconsciously standing Infront of him, Karan.
“You are going to see her later in the day right? I thought you won’t cheat on me?” She shrieked with tears glistering in her eyes.
Karan stared at her unbelievably, She was jumping into conclusion for no reason again.
“Why aren’t you defending yourself this time around? You are overwhelmed by how I found out right? I knew about her all along but i let it slide but not this time bro” She fury loudly.
Karan was muted. He wasn’t having the energy to quarrel with her.
“If you knew about her all along, then why didn’t you ask me who she is?” He stated.
“To hell to who she is bro, I don’t want to know because you’re good at saving yourself” She retorted in a growl.
Karan sighed “Though am not mad at you anymore about last night, I had expected you to learn from your mistake, I thought you might change but here you are not feeling remorseful of what you did” he uttered, trying to keep his voice in control.
“Remorseful? ” She laughed awkwardly “Just yesterday night I was feeling bad for hurting you. But now, am not because you deserve it” she added.
Karan tightened his fists with anger masked on his face. Heaven knows he was trying to stay calm as possible. He felt like giving her a hurt slap but he’s not a woman beater.
“I think your parents relationship really do determine your view of love and relationships” He said slowly and made to walk past her but rella being the stubborn type stood Infront of him.
Karan boiled badly with his eye close while scratching the scalp of his head. Rella gulped hard and look away with her arms underneath her chest.
Karan stared at her and after getting a complete possession of her, He shoved her out of the way unable to suppress the anger that was eating inside of him.
“Really” she gritted angrily.
She wanted to stop him again when the pain of earlier niggled at her again, she rubbed her tummy in a growl.
Karan froze instantly on the spot without turning to face her as rella shaking voice echoed in his ears.
He knew she was going to have stomachache in the morning as she had slept with an empty stomach.
Rella has hunger pangs which is also refer to as hunger pain. Whenever she skip a meal, she start having pain in her abdomen.
Karan wanted to leave but couldn’t, she was in so much pain. He turned around and found her wincing in pain in teary eyes.
“You should have some rest now, I’ll tell Joe to get you something to eat” He uttered softly existing the door.
She stared at him in bewilderment until he shut the door.
“As if you care” She smirked disgustingly.

Melody and Charles sat at the dinning as Elizabeth dished out their meal.
Elizabeth was looking so excited seeing charles and melody at the dinning after a long time. Her everyday prayer was to see Charles and melody happy again.
Subconciouly he laughed loud capturing the attention of charles and melody. Both stared at her disgustingly, wondering what’s funny.
The smile on her face disappeared instantly when she saw them staring at her like she was knot.
Melody shook her head disappointedly and feasted on her meal same with Charles.
She gave them a quick glance again and chuckled softly. They were enjoying her food peacefully.

Few minutes they were done, elizabeth cleared off the table before approaching the kitchen.
“Daughter” Charles called, wiping his mouth with the napkin on his lap.
“Yes dad” she replied even though she have no reason to answer him.
“Am leaving for work now, do you want me to get you something on my way back?” he asked. Melody gasp at him awkwardly.
After what seems like forever, her dad asked her if she wanted something.
She wished he could give her what she wants, she wished her Christopher will come back to her, she wished he could call her and say ”Girlfriend am missing you” she cried
“Baby are you alright?” Charles muttered surprisingly. He thought he said something wrong
He took to his feet and approached her.
“I don’t want anything” She declined
“Why are you crying? ” he asked wiping the tears off her cheeks.
“Nothing, you should get going, you are late already for work” She huffed.
Charles sighs heavily as he stared at her.
It’s been a year he last saw her. She is looking all grown up now. She’s a carbon copy of Lydia.
Charles smiled at her. Truth be it, he missed lydia so much and wish they could make things work again but he decided to forget everything about her and move on.
“See you later” he pecked her cheek before walking away.
Melody wiped her cheek he just kissed with a napkin on her lap. Just then, her phone beeped on the table.
It was a text from Christopher, she picked it off from the table immediately. A mighty smile escaped her lips.

Tears glistered in melody’s eyes as she continue reading. It felt like the world was coming to an end.

Elizabeth was done washing the dishes. she wiped her hands with the kitchen napkin on the counter.
She relieved a heavy sigh as she walked down the dinning and saw melody crying. Argh, not again.
She thought Charles had scolded her but that was not possible. She squatted infront of her.
“Ms what is it? Elizabeth asked, panting her back.
“I..I..I’m going to miss…..miss Christopher ” Melody stammered.
“It’s okay ms, you’re only hurt because your love was real.” she sighed despondently “But you just have to forget about him” She added.
Melody ruffles her hair and sobbed bitterly.
“He left me for someone else…he said….h…he doesn’t…..he doesn’t love me” Melody drawled.
Elizabeth was unable to understand what she meant but she needed to calm her down “It’s alright for people not to love you, like I said the last time, you can’t beg someone to love you, if not you’ll keep begging”

“Why did he hurt me despite everything I did for him and his mother?” Melody yelled, feeling frustrated.
“Stop expecting people to stay in your life when you do something for them.
We are all humans, we make decisions for ourselves.”
“Everyone will hurt you. It’s up to you to decide who’s worth suffering for.” She consoled, panting Melody’s back.
Elizabeth took her gaze to melody who was still sobbing. She was really obsessed with Christopher. She had her doubt about Christopher, she knew he wasn’t into melody, so unfortunate he proved her right.
“His mom never bothered to call me once. Do you know I used my school fees to pay her hospital’s bills. I thought despite meeting with her, she will never allow her son leave me. I thought he loves me that was why he introduced me to his mom” melody winced painfully.
Elizabeth took an intake of breath, melody was still a child and haven’t understand life so well. “Meeting with a guy’s mum doesn’t guarantee that he truly loves you, some mum’s are partner’s in their son’s habit.”
“Sometimes life doesn’t give you what you want, not because you don’t deserve it, but because you deserve so much more” Elizabeth shut her eyelids and opened them
“Melody dear, this advice am about to give you is the best and it does work but hard to do.” Melody stared at her waiting impatiently to hear what was under her sleeve while sniffling repeatedly.
“I want you to let him see you happy, laughing, get busy improving and loving yourself and focus on your study and you’ll just find him gone. He’ll realise you are moving on and he’s not the center of your universe anymore. Let me tell you. Its easy to drop what is in your hand but not in the heart. Delete everything that gives you a memory of him and everything that links with him.”
“He will probably approach you and by then, you may not be interested anymore. Have fun and be super happy and he will be mad that he lost a good girl.
Have a good relationship with God because that’s the only relationship where you’ll never get your heart broken again ” Elizabeth guaranteed.
“Nanny” Melody sniffles repeatedly “ Thank you ”
Elizabeth glanced at her confusingly“ For what?”
“For staying” melody said.
“Despite everything my family and I put you through, you never left” she added.
Ecstatically, Melody cupped her cheeks in her palms.
Elizabeth wiped the tears that threatened to escape her eyes. This was actually the first time melody was thanking her for something, not just anything, but for staying.
She must say, she love the new melody and pray she never change.
Though melody had hurt and humiliated her in front of her parents, she forgave her after all, she’s still a child.
She has worked for Charles for twenty(20) years now, melody wasn’t born then.
They were no day Lydia doesn’t abusive her. Sometimes, she slap her but still, she promise not to leave.

Matthew was driving to karan’s penthouse with Karan seated at the back looking outside the window.
Karan was looking so distracted, he was becoming unpredictable and Matthew couldn’t tell what’s wrong.
The two men from the other night saw karan’s car approaching, one of them ran inside to open the gate and the other one was on call.
Karan’s car drove into the neat compound.
He alighted from it and everyone greeted him. He nodded before entering the house with Matthew still inside the car.
The moment karan opened the door, he couldn’t tell what happened. He heard a lady screamed loudly and narrowed his gaze to the direction he heard the noise from.
He couldn’t believe his eyes, he took strikes steps forward to get a clearer view.
