Asher’s home<<
It’s just 6am, but Asher wouldn’t stop staring outside the window as though he’s waiting for someone, he reached for his phone and stared at a number (Rachel’s number) for a moment, he was contemplating wether to dial it, or just leave it because he might disturb her sleep.

“The four months you spent with her is nothing compared with the years she and Duncan spent together, besides, there’s a big difference between sympathy and love, brother, and trust me, what you’re feeling for Rachel at the moment is sympathy and nothing more…”
Asher shook his head in disagreement.
“No, I know what I’m feeling” he paused. “Where was the b@stard when I accompanied Rachel to her antenatal? You want me to let her go back to the man that almost break her?”
“Rachel is a grown woman, and she knows what’s right for her and what she wants, if she still wanna go back to her husband then let her.. nobody can be a better father to her child than her own lawfully, wedded husband, and her child’s biological father”

An angry growl emitted from Asher’s throat, and he angrily threw his phone across the room, and watched it crash.

RACHEL’S pov.
“Hey, stop there, stop right there!”
I shouted as I chased Duncan, but stopped abruptly when he dashed towards the stairs, and started making mocking faces at me as he rushed down the stairs, taking the steps two at a time.
I folded my lower lip in my mouth, and bite it as I tried to suppress my anger.
“Duncan Baldwin, stop right there or I’mma gonna take the steps three at a time!” I threatened him, and that did the trick -he stopped abruptly.

He nodded, and began taking slow steps towards me until he’s standing right in front of me. I gestured him to lower himself a little bit, and he obeyed me.

“You are gonna pay for making me chase you around the house so early in the morning!” I growled in his face as I pulled him along.

I pushed him on the sofa, and sat on his laps, then stared in his eyes.
