Mr Baldwin’s face contorted in disgust as he shook his head.
“No” he answered. “I know my wife’s character, she’d never cheat on me, especially with that scumbag!”
Lucas’ eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion.
“Then why did you stormed out after killing Asher?” he asked. “I thought you believed what he said”
Mr Baldwin shook his head again.
“I was just mad about what he said, and couldn’t help being mad at myself too” he paused briefly. “He wouldn’t have said that if my wife didn’t live in his house, and I’m mad at myself because my wife wouldn’t have met him if she didn’t left home because of me”
“Oh”
“Hm” Mr Baldwin hummed, then another silence fell on them but just like the first time, Lucas broke it.
“Where are we heading, sir? Are we going back home?”
“Home.. ” Mr Baldwin trailed off. “I don’t wanna go home yet, take me to one of my other houses”
“Yes, sir”

RACHEL’S pov.
Baldwin’s Mansion, LA<<
My eyes moved towards the wall clock again for the hundredth time, and a tired sigh left my mouth.
It’s almost 9pm, and it’s been eleven hours since Duncan left home, but he still hasn’t come back yet, neither was he picking any of my calls too -and me being a good wife, couldn’t help but worry about his safety.
Even Mrs Jackson who went to take care of her niece since morning is yet to come back, hence nanny Pamela is the one cooking dinner right now, rendering me lonely as I sat on a sofa in the living room, and staring absentmindedly at the tv.
I quickly reached for my phone on the table as my ringtone “she’s back” by westlife, blared loudly in the air.
A smile crept up my face when I saw Lucas’ name flashing on the screen, and I quickly answered it.
“Hello, Lucas”
“Uh, Mrs Baldwin…”
“Where’s Duncan?” I interrupted him. “Is he with you? Why isn’t he picking my calls?”
I heard Lucas cough lightly.
“Mr Baldwin is in a meeting, and I don’t know when the meeting is gonna be over”
My eyes moved to the wall clock again, and I narrowed my eyes suspiciously as I wondered if Lucas is lying to me; I mean, meeting? At such a late hour? Are they having this meeting with ghosts?
“Mrs Baldwin?”
“Huh?”
“I said I can’t interrupt the meeting, or Mr Baldwin would cut my pay”
I sighed.
“Ok, tell him I’m waiting for him, because I… ”
“I don’t think you should wait for him”
I frowned.
“Why shouldn’t I?”
There was a brief silence from his side.
“Uh, he might not come home tonight”
Huh? He might not come home tonight?
“They seems to be having a serious conversation” he explained.
“Oh, I.. I.. there’s something important I wanted to talk to him about” I inhaled deeply. “But it’s fine, I guess I’d just wait until tomorrow”
Right at that moment, I heard the sound of the door pushing open, and my head quickly snapped towards there, only to see Mrs Jackson walked in with a black plastic bag in her hand.
“Alright, I’ve got to go, have a good night”
“You too, Mrs Baldwin” Lucas said, and hanged up.
Mrs Jackson approached me with an apologetic smile on her face, she dropped the plastic bag on the table and sat on a sofa next to mine.
“I thought you’d just stay until tomorrow, and come back to work tomorrow” I said.
“Yes, I wanted to, but then I remembered I didn’t inform you I’ll be taking the whole day off”
“Oh”
“Hmm” she hummed as she opened the plastic bag, and pulled out a bottle of milk. “I’ll go back home tonight, but I just wanna drop this milk here because I don’t have a fridge in my house, so the milk might go bad if I take it home and bring it tomorrow” she said.
My eyebrows furrowed instantly as I was a bit confused by her explanation, she knows I don’t like milk that much, then why did she buy it?
“I took my niece to the hospital earlier, and overheard a doctor recommending a pregnant woman to drink milk, he said it’s good for babies health and it helps them to grow strong” she explained.
“Oh” I reached for the bottle of milk and stared at it. “Thank you, Mrs Jackson”
I thanked her, and she smiled back at me in response.
“But unfortunately, I don’t like milk, I always feel nauseous everytime I drink milk, and I’m sure it’s gonna be even worse now that I’m pregnant”
She eyed me briefly.
“You’re not alone right now, you should start learning to prioritize your baby” her gaze averted to the milk in my hands. “Your baby’s health is what matters most, so you have no choice but to drink it” she said sternly.
I sighed and nodded stiffly.
“Good” she got up. “I should be on my way, you should drink some milk tonight”
I looked at the milk.
“Hm” I hummed.
I wanted to get up and walk her to the door, but she stopped me and made me sit back on the sofa.
“Don’t forget to drink the milk tonight” she said, and walked towards the door.
My eyebrows furrowed instantly as I watched her leave, and there’s only one question on my mind; Why is she constantly reminding me to drink the milk? Did she poison the milk, or something?
Maybe I’m just being paranoid, or I don’t know how to describe what I’m feeling, but I’ve been suspicious of her ever since Jacinta showed me that photo of her.
I’ve been wondering, and trying to figure out how she’s connected to Mike, and what business they have together.
