THIRD PERSON’S pov.
“Rachel” Mr Baldwin called once more, with his eyes searching frantically the restaurant.
“Over here, baby!” he heard the familiar voice of his wife from behind him.
He turned around at once, and broke into a smile when his eyes landed on her, then he rushed towards her, and pulled her into a very tight hug.
“Fuçk! You scared me, my heartbeat!” he reprimanded her, but couldn’t help the sigh of relief that escaped his lips.
Her arms went around his waist, and rested her head on his chest as she hugged him back, there’s a satisfying smile on her face, as though she’s finally gotten what she’s ever wanted.
“I was scared I’d be too late, and…”
“Shh” she pulled away from the hug slightly, and placed a finger on his lips. “It’s fine, baby, I’m not mad at you” she said.
Then she grabbed his face in her hands, and planted a short kiss on his lips, which made him frown deeply as he suddenly find his wife’s kiss a little bit sloppy.
“You’re not mad at me?” he asked, and she shook her head.
“No, not at all, baby” she answered. “I’m just excited you came in time, or….”
Mr Baldwin tuned her off and frowned as he stared strangely at her, he took a step back and took a proper look at his wife, but she was very quick to close the space between them.
He frowned as she wrapped an arm around his waist, he couldn’t help but wondered why his wife’s suddenly acting so weird.
‘She has called me baby multiple times just now, but my wife doesn’t call me baby on normal occasions, she only calls me baby when she wanna get something from me’ he thought inwardly.
“I’m really happy you came, I was scared you wouldn’t come in time, and Tasha would succeed, and have her way with me”
Mr Baldwin glanced around immediately she made mention of Tasha, then narrowed his eyes suspiciously, before looking back at her.
“Where’s Tasha by the way?” he asked.
“I don’t know” she answered.
She looked towards the table she was sitting with a frown, as though she’s confused.
“We were sitting there a minute ago, but she suddenly vanished when she heard your voice” she said.
“Really?”
“Hm” she hummed in agreement, then hugged him and rested her head on his chest again.
Mr Baldwin’s eyes narrowed more suspiciously as he looked down at her, he felt like pushing her away, but he kept his cool.
‘With my wife’s temperament, she would be very mad at me, and probably be giving me the cold shoulder right now, or maybe hit and scold me for not contacting her or coming home for days, but why isn’t she doing any of that right now?’ he thought again, and his frown deepened even more. ‘Unless… she’s not her!’ he concluded, but still didn’t push her away.
“Rachel, are you ok? Did Tasha hurt you? Or did she try to hurt my godson?” Fatima asked as she gently pushed Mr Baldwin out of her way.
Fatima grabbed her friend’s hands and began looking her friend’s body all over, as though she’s checking for any physical injuries.
“Tasha?” Mrs Baldwin scoffed. “She couldn’t do anything to me, she only threatened to hurt my child if I don’t leave my baby” she glanced at Mr Baldwin as she mentioned baby. “Alone” she said, but Fatima frowned at her words.
“Huh?”
There’s a surprised expression on Fatima’s face, because this is the first time Rachel’s ever referred to her husband as her baby during their conversation.
‘Did something life changing happened after her meeting with Tasha?’ Fatima couldn’t help her thoughts.
She exchanged looks with Mr Baldwin, and realized Mr Baldwin was glaring at Mrs Baldwin.
“You must be hungry, right?” Mr Baldwin asked his wife.
“Hm” she hummed in reply, and smiled brightly at him.
“Come on, let’s go home and get you something to eat” he said.
“Hm” she hummed again, went on tiptoes and planted a kiss on his lips, then she grabbed Fatima’s hand and they rushed out.
Mr Baldwin reached for his phone in his pocket, he scrolled until he stopped at a number, and sent a text to the number before shoving his phone back in his pocket, and hurried out too.

An Unnamed Organization, LA<<
“Quick, get the damn door!” Ms Cara growled at one of her subordinates, as she approached the closed door.
He quickly pushed the door open, and Ms Cara was helped in with blood trailing along her wounded leg.
“Ms Cara, you were shot?” Another of her subordinates asked.
She shot him a harsh glare as she sat on an armchair, and rested her bleeding leg on the small table in front of her.
“Isn’t it obvious?!” she snapped at him, but released a hiss as someone touched her wound. “What are fuçking doing?!”
“Boss, you’re bleeding, we must treat your wound first or it’s gonna get infected later” he explained.
“No” she growled, and pushed him off her.
He fell back on his butts, and Ms Cara kicked him on his stomach, as hard as her left leg could which made him grunt and coughed a few times.
“I’m gonna make them regret ever taking what’s supposed to be MINE!” she pushed the table, and her wounded leg hit the ground hard, but she didn’t wince or hiss in pain.
“Ms Cara…”
“SHUT UP!” she clenched her jaw and gritted her teeth tightly. “Duncan is looking for his wife, take our men and start searching for her too” she narrowed her eyes. “I want you to get her before he does, and you have only today to get it done!”
“Yes, ma’am”
“Then get moving your @sses!” with that, her subordinates trooped out, leaving her and her right hand man behind.
“I’ll make sure I snatch everything from Ferrari’s son, just like he snatched everything from me!” she promised.

Mr Baldwin raised his left eyebrow, as he watched his wife giggling excitedly while gliding her way into the living room, she raced towards a sofa, and fell on it with her legs dancing in the air.
“Careful, Rachel” nanny Pamela scolded her as she rushed down the stairs. “Have you forgotten you’re a pregnant woman? Pulling dangerous stunts like that is very unsafe for my grandson”
Mrs Baldwin quickly sprang up, and comported herself.
“Sorry….” she trailed off, her eyeballs rolled questioningly as she thought of how to address nanny Pamela. “.. housekeeper” she said.
“Housekeeper?” Nanny Pamela asked with a small frown. “Did she knock her head or something?” she asked, directing this question to Mr Baldwin, who simply shrugged.
Nanny Pamela sighed, she squatted to Mrs Baldwin’s level and pulled her into a hug.
“I was so scared something’s going to happen to you” she sighed again. “Why did you leave the mansion without telling me?” Nanny Pamela asked in a scolding tone, but still haven’t pulled away from the hug.
“Uh…” Mrs Baldwin seemed as though she’s lost.
“Anyways” nanny Pamela pulled away from the hug, and held Mrs Baldwin’s hands. “You’ve been gone the whole morning, and it’s already lunch time, come I’ll fix you something to eat”
“Hm”
Then they got up and headed towards the kitchen, Mr Baldwin and Fatima could only stare at Mrs Baldwin in total confusion -they both have their own doubts.
“Mr Baldwin, forgive my curiosity and impulsiveness, but is that your wife?” Fatima asked.
Mr Baldwin shook his head slowly.
“No” he answered.
Fatima faced him with an even more confused expression.
“You know she’s an imposter, but you don’t wanna kill her? You even brought her home?” she queried him, even though that wasn’t her intention.
Mr Baldwin remained silent, but his eyes stayed focused on nanny Pamela and his wife -well, fake wife.
“I’m gonna go kill her this instant!” she growled.
And made to storm towards the imposter, but Mr Baldwin grabbed her shoulder and stopped her.
“Mr Baldwin, she’s…”
“We can’t kill her yet”
“Why?”
“We don’t know who she is, we don’t know who’s her backer either, and worse of all, we’ll never know where my wife if we kill her” he explained.
Fatima nodded in agreement after a brief thought.
“It’s best I keep her here, and force her to tell me the truth later”
“When’s the later?” she asked.
Her tone was a bit rude, which earned her a warning glare from Mr Baldwin, and she quickly bowed her head in apology.
“I’m sorry, sir” she apologized quickly. “I’m just worried about my friend, she might be in danger”
“Don’t worry, they won’t dare to hurt my wife while she’s here” he nodded towards fake Mrs Baldwin. “I’ll get the truth out of her tonight”
Fatima glared maliciously towards the fake Mrs Baldwin, who was stylishly brushing nanny Pamela’s hands from her shoulder.
“Mr Baldwin” Lucas called Mr Baldwin’s attention after receiving a phone call. “It’s done” he said.
“What’s done?” Mr Baldwin asked.
“Our men has taken Mr Ferrari to the safehouse, and Mike is waiting for you in the garage”
“You’ve kidnapped him?”
Lucas shook his head.
“No”
Mr Baldwin frowned.
“No?”
“He came on his own will, he said there’s something he must tell you, and he’s been waiting since you left to get Mrs Baldwin”
Mr Baldwin nodded, and turned to Fatima.
“Watch her, don’t let her try anything funny, and if need be, you must protect my nanny with your life!”
Lucas suddenly choked on his spit immediately Mr Baldwin mentioned ‘protect my nanny with your life’, he locked eyes with Fatima and shook his head in disagreement, then created a love symbol with his fingers, but quickly shoved his hands in his pockets when Mr Baldwin faced him.
“Are you ok?” Mr Baldwin asked him.
“Yes, sir” he replied.
“Then let’s go question Mike”
“Yes, sir”
Mr Baldwin nodded at Fatima before walking towards the door, but Lucas winked at her and rushed after his boss.

“Good afternoon, Mr Baldwin, I’m Mike…”
“Let’s skip the pleasantries” Mr Baldwin cut in. “I know you, and I hate you, so let’s just go straight to the point” he said.
“You’re so straightforward… ”
“Why are you here?”
Mike frowned slightly as he noticed Mr Baldwin’s a little bit harsh towards him, but didn’t voiced out his displeasure since he understood Mr Baldwin’s behavior so well.
“I wanna ask you of a favor” he said.
