THE NEXT DAY; POLICE STATION**
Daniella was sobbing uncontrollably, with Camila doing her best to comfort her. Sebastian was speaking to an officer while Alejandro stood by with Isabella. Early that morning, they’d received the tragic news of Valeria’s death.
“I want that boy to rot in jail for what he did to my daughter!” Daniella cried out as a police officer escorted Alan into the station. Paparazzi swarmed, snapping pictures.
Inside the interrogation room, Alan sat facing the police.
“Why did you push her?” the interrogator asked, staring intensely at him.
“I didn’t push her,” Alan replied calmly.
“I’ll ask again,” the interrogator said, pulling out a taser.
“Officer, we had no relationship. The question you should be asking is why she was at my place so late at night, armed with a knife,” Alan said, giving him a cold, detached look.
The interrogator motioned to an officer. “Bring his belongings here.”
The officer returned shortly with Alan’s bag, which the interrogator emptied onto the table.
“Why do you have her taser?” he demanded.
Alan smirked but remained silent. The interrogator slammed his hand on the table. “Answer me, damn it!”
“I took it so she wouldn’t use it on me,” Alan replied.
“And why do you have a duplicate of her car keys?” the interrogator asked again.
Alan sighed. “I had it because I wanted to talk to her. Why don’t you take my phone and check the video on it?” he said, tiredly.
The interrogator took his phone and handed it back to Alan. “Open it.”
Alan unlocked the phone and showed the interrogator a video. “My room is also under CCTV surveillance, just in case anything goes wrong. That’s a clear video of what happened last night,” Alan explained while the interrogator watched.
“She could have survived, Officer, but she chose not to. There’s no footage of what happened down there, but when she fell, she still had something to hold onto. She chose to let go so this would happen,” Alan explained.

“You’re telling me he’s not guilty and my daughter committed suicide?” Daniella yelled at the police officer, tears streaming down her face.
“We hate to break that to you, but that’s sadly the case. A report from her school mentioned that she bullied others,” the officer replied.
“I just don’t believe this. Valeria was a good kid, and I’m not letting this go. My daughter died tragically at a very young age. If you can’t help me look into this properly, then I’ll just do it myself!” Daniella said before storming out of the station.
On her way outside, she met Alan leaving with his friend, Elijah. Daniella angrily pointed at them.
“You two killed my daughter. She used to date you!” She tried to launch herself toward Elijah, but Sebastian quickly restrained her.
“Let’s go, darling. Don’t do this here,” Sebastian said calmly, guiding her to the car. Isabella helped Daniella settle down.
“I’ll take it from here, Alejandro. You can go now. Your mother is not in a good mood,” Sebastian said to Alejandro, who nodded and got into the car.
Camila sighed, looking at Alejandro. “I can’t believe it. She was so young. Why would she do that to herself?” she said softly, her voice breaking.
“You know, Isabella always complained about how your sister gave her a hard time in school, but I always told her to try to get along since we’re all family. But now… we’ll never know,” Camila cried, and Alejandro hugged her, gently patting her back and kissing her hair.
“If I had been there for her as an older brother, maybe she would have learned a thing or two, and she wouldn’t have died now,” he said, saddened.
“Don’t blame yourself,” Camila pulled away from the hug.
He offered a small smile and cupped her cheek. “I wasn’t there for her or my family when I should have been. It’s too late to undo that now, but I can start mending things.”
“Camila, I promise you. I won’t fail you as a partner, as a husband. I’ll always be here for you, okay?” he said, and Camila nodded.
He pulled her in for a hug.

LUCIA’S PLACE**
“Ma’am, please wake up. If you don’t, I’m going to lose my job,” Sarah pleaded. She had been trying to get Lucia out of bed for so long, but Lucia refused.
“Please,” she begged again, but still no response. Sarah sighed and left the room, finding Mr. and Mrs. Landon waiting outside.
“She won’t get out of bed, and I don’t know how else to convince her,” Sarah said quietly.
“Do you want to lose your job, Sarah?” Mr. Landon asked sternly.
“No, sir,” Sarah shook her head immediately.
“Remember, you have a family to feed. If I fire you, you won’t find another paying job like this. So go in there and make sure that brat is ready for marriage!” Mr. Landon ordered.
Sarah nodded and returned to the room, only to find Lucia already up.
“It’s okay for you not to lose your job, but it’s okay for me to ruin my life,” Lucia said with lifeless eyes before going to the bathroom to shower.
A few minutes later, Lucia was dressed in her wedding gown and makeup.
“You look beautiful,” Mrs. Landon said, standing behind Lucia, but Lucia paid no attention, her gaze empty as she looked at her reflection.
Mrs. Landon sighed and took Lucia’s hand, placing a small box in it.
“Your father is in the bathroom, and I’ve spoken to the guards to let you go,” she said.
Lucia slowly looked at her mother. “What?”
“I know how it feels to be tied to someone you have no interest in. I still remember what I went through when my parents forced me to marry your father. Sometimes, I wish I had done what you’re doing now and fought for myself. Maybe things would be different. But I have you now, so I don’t regret a thing,” Mrs. Landon said, wiping tears from her eyes.
“I’m sorry, Mom,” Lucia mumbled with tear-filled eyes.
“You don’t have to be sorry. If you don’t leave for the airport now, you might never see George again,” Mrs. Landon said.
