SHASHA’S POV π§‘
Allen-Tosh made me say βYes’ to his proposal to be his woman, and even though I wanted to do otherwise, I didnβt have the ability to do things the way I wanted.
I was happy though, that he agreed to let the change in our relationship remain between us in the mean time, to give me the opportunity to do things that I must do.
There were some things I needed to put in place before I met with the shareholders I was slated to meet the next day, so I had to work on them, forcing myself to remain focused on the job at hand, even when Allen wouldnβt let me concentrate.
Having to put together the stuffs I put together that night, has got to be the most strenuous of all tasks that I have had to undertake before!
Allen kept asking me questions and whispering sweet nothings into my ear, making me want to turn around and wrap my arms around him, but I had a mission, and I knew what would be at stake, if I allowed the urge to do what I wanted with him, keep me from doing what I had to do.
I ignored him totally, thinking only about what my aunt had been doing to me, and what sheβd do again, if things turned out the way she wanted, and my mind stayed preoccupied, straying away from what he was doing to me.
He lay vertically on the bed, placing his head on my bum, as he continued to tease me, and before long, I began to hear him breathing softly, telling me that he was already asleep.
I made my moves, got the things I needed to do done, ahead of the next day, and went to sleep, being extra careful not to wake him up.
It gave me great joy to know that my aunt would wake up to a great shock, and that I wasnβt going to be arriving the office, worrying about how I was going to keep myself from taking discreet peeps at my boss to admire his irresistible good looks.
I had made him agree to keep whatever we were doing under the radar for the moment, but I knew I could snug up to him, and get a warm hug whenever I got too cold, sitting alone in my office.
βHello Miss Sasha, can we meet and get this deal sealed and done, as soon as possible?β came Mr. Andersonβs voice on the phone, as soon as I picked the call.
βThatβs okay Mr. Anderson. But I wasnβt expecting your call so soon, so I really didnβt make arrangements for now.
βCan we meet later today, say, at about 2pm?β I asked him, sounding as comported as I could, and Allen, who was sitting opposite me, nearly had my head for it.
I made a zip sign over my lips, urging him not to speak, and continued with my call.
βOkay Miss, but I hope you do not make me have to wait in vain and have you not being able to buy these shΓ res at the end of the day.
βIβm giving out these shΓ res because I actually need to invest in something very urgent, so I hope you understand how urgent and important it is for me to sell off nowβ he told me, trying to make excuses for his despΓͺrate tone.
βOf course I understand Sirβ I told him, concluded about the time and venue weβre to meet and hung up.
βWhat was that about? How could you not get him sign off the dΓ£mn shares quickly?
βWhy did you have to make it sound like youβre not actually interested in acquiring the shΓ res?β Allen asked me, looking at me in confusion.
βThatβs exactly the goal Allen. I canβt make him imagine that Iβm despΓͺrate to acquire the shΓ res.
βIt would be one of the reasons I may end up not getting what I want.
βAnd if Iβm going to be able to stop that woman from grabbing the shares, Iβve got to work smarter than her.
βShe is making despΓͺrate moves, and that is getting these people have second thoughts about the information and news sheβs feeding them
βShe keeps giving them information about the failure of Toshteck Limited, and still makes moves to get their shΓ res all at once
βMaking them wonder what she is truly up to and having to thread carefully with her.
βSo you see, on the other hand, they have me, whom they assume is an over zealous newbie in the organization, trying so hard to prove that Toshteck Limited can still work, when you the CEO, and your step mother, who are major stakeholders have lost hope in the company.
βMr Anderson is one person I was assuming would be a hard nut to crack, and considering how much shΓ res he holds, I knew your step mother would be more interested in him.
βSo I had to be extra careful with him, to ensure I donβt give myself away and have that woman beat me to it.
βRemember what I told you the first day I got here about not looking too despΓͺrate for something, no matter how much you want that thingβ I told him, sticking out my tongue.
βOh I see! And you think that applies all the time? Was I not despΓͺrate to get you to give me a yes?
βDid I, or did I not get a yes?β he asked me, winking at me in a way that made my stomach begin to churn immediately.
I tried to look away, because even though I had an answer for what he had just asked, my cheeks were burning hot from the blushes.
He began to laugh triumphantly and though I looked away, a corner of my retina caught glimpse of him getting up from his seat, and I knew I had to make a run for it, while I could.
βIβll go nowβ I said and got up simultaneously, practically running away from his office. It would be a major catastrophe if my aunt or Mirabel walked up on us, kissing in his office
Only God knows what kind of expression he had on his face when he teased me about not being able to stand his βhotnessβ, but I didn’t care. I knew I’d get back at him, someday.
A few minutes before 2pm, I was already set to meet Mr Anderson up at the appointed place, with my predesigned contract already in my hands.
I headed to the venue, literally having to fight with Allen to agree to allow me go alone.
βDo you see why I have been working so hard to see that we donβt mix business with pleasure?
βJust the first day as my boyfriend, and you want to get in the way of a major business negotiation!
βHow well do you think the deal will go if that man gets a hint that weβre together?
βWhat do you think will be his reaction if he finds out that we have orchestrated this intentionally to grab the shares from him before your step mother does?
βPlease donβt be naΓ»ghty Allen, itβs just going to be a couple of minutes and Iβll be back. Don’t make us have to go together when we know we could run into your step motherβ I told him, and seemed to have given him more reasons to pressurize me about letting him come with me.
βYou see the one you just mentioned, sheβs the very reason I have to go with you.
βYes Sasha, thereβs no way on earth Iβll allow you face that woman alone. Sheβs something you may not know!β he told me, getting up from his seat, and turned around to stand right in front of me.
He was breathing over me, and holding me so close, as he urged me again, to allow him be around, to protect me.
βSasha please! Donβt make me diΓ« before you return. I wonβt feel comfortable sitting here, not knowing if this Anderson isnβt actually luring you out.
βSee, apart from the possibility that my step mother may have been using him to lure you out, I also worry about that man.
βI do not like the way he kept looking at you the very day we had that meeting. And I donβt want to imagine what he could do, if he managed to lure you to an isolated placeβ he told me, making me want to cry.
βAllen, youβll have to grow above this. You need to know that since I became an adolescent, I have always had people of the opposite sΓ«x looking at me the way youβre talking about
βSo, itβs not really strange that a man reacts in that manner when he sees me
βWhat I think should matter is how I react to the sight of the man, and the looks in his eyes.
βAnd Allen, you must know that to the best of my knowledge, no man has ever made me feel the way I feel or act around you.
βFrom the day I met you, from the moment I heard your voice and beheld your face, I have been reacting in a way I never expected myself to react.
βAnd now that I know you want to hold me just like I want to hold you in my arms, Allen, there wonβt be any other, holding me in his arms, not even to help me get on board a speed boatβ I told him, holding him as I spoke.
βAnd as for your step mother, please my dear, do not worry your cute head for a second about her.
βI know just how to row with people like herβ I told him, tiptoeing to give him a quick kiss on his lips.
My words must have got him where I wanted, because he sat down and I rushed off to meet up with my appointment alone, or so I thought.
Mr Anderson was already waiting for me when I arrived, and before long, we were talking about the terms of the contract.
He was proposing to sell off half of his shΓ res, but I insisted that I was going to buy all, or nothing.
βMr Anderson, the major reason I wish to buy the shΓ res would be defeated if I get to buy only half of it.
βI already got this loan to buy the shΓ res, and if I donβt buy, then Iβll as well return the money, and know that I only have to lose but a little.
βGoing ahead with half purchase would make me spend the money that would be left, and that wouldnβt be so helpful to my career at this point.
βIβll ask my boss if he may be interested in buying some of the shΓ resβ I told him, intentionally telling him about contacting Allen.
And just like I expected, he panicked because he ‘knew’ that contacting Allen would mean that Iβll find out that βToshteck Limited was about to go bankruptβ.
βItβs okay Miss Sasha, I was only trying to see if you were for real or not. I wanted to be sure you weren’t made to play some games of some sort β he told me, laughing uneasily.
We got the deal signed and I made the payment from my mobile app, generated a receipt for the transaction.
He looked up at me when he saw the narration for the transaction, smiled again, before he headed out.
I looked at the contract in my hands and recalled the number of shΓ res I had been able to acquire that day, and tears began to flow from my eyes, but I wiped them off quickly, trying to pay attention to the eyes that I could feel, looking at me.
A few moments after I got into the hotel Mr Anderson had asked me to meet him, I started feeling watched.
I looked around many times, to be sure somebody wasnβt trailing me, but couldnβt find anyone.
Then I concluded it must be my aunt, she must have sent someone to monitor my movements, and I couldnβt worry my head about her and her shadow.
For all I cared, the deal with Mr Anderson was already as good as sealed, so, even if she showed up, it was to have me look her in her eyes, and make her know that I have somehow become the third highest shareholder in the company she was fighting tooth and nail to pull down.
And if she went as far as getting her minions on me, then it would be time to let her know that I had taken precaution to get some taekwondo training secretly, while I was in school.
I waited for her to make a move after Mr Anderson left, but didnβt see anything.
Then I got up to leave, wiping the tears from my eyes completely as I walked out of the hotel.
I was about to get into my car, when I felt someone so close that I had to strike out quickly, to get the person off my back.
Mid strike though, my hand kinda froze, as my nasal sensory sent an instant message and decoded the response from the brain.
The air around me, pushed in some molecules that stimulated my olfactory sensory neurons, high inside my nose.
And because I have a few million of these cells, very active inside my nose, the different types of odor receptors within my respiratory system, enabled my system to selectively capture a specific set of microscopic smell molecules.
In the last split of second, before my hand reached my target behind me, I had been able to encode the message the brain relayed.
So I had to hold back in that instant because I had just smelled Allen, and got to know that he was the one and only person, standing behind me, making me stagger and almost fall.
And again, I fell into Allenβs powerful and desirable arms.
βWhat are you doing here?β I stammered, trying to show him how angry I was with the fact that he had followed me to the place I asked him not to.
βHey, calm down Okay! I only wanted to have a drink and decided to drive out. How could I have known you were here anyway?β he asked me, looking away from my eyes.
βYou didnβt know I was here Allen? And you want me to believe that? Anyway, youβre so lucky you didnβt get in the way of my meeting with that dudeβ I told him, pinching him on his nose.
“Ouch! I’m going to deduct 20% of your salary this month, for this act of insubodination. And I’m going to have you beg for a chance to breath tonight” he told me, before he claimed my lips in a rather superficially sensuous kiss.
