The court is buzzing with the indistinct chattering of the audience and all other representatives.

The Mccall’s family walked and the chattering grew louder than before as all eyes stared at them.

The man took his seat and the judge took over.

“We’ve come to the end of the questions since, Lucian here, has no definite answer” Lucian shot glares at the judge as he spoke.

The judge took in a deep breath.

“The government has concluded that you either get arrested and sentenced to a life imprisonment or, your company will be shut down forever if no proff of your innocency is showed”

Lucian exhaled deeply as the judge continued.

“Now, you can decide on which to choose” the judge said and everyone’s full focused were in him.

“I choose none” he suddenly said, and all the audience were stunned with his statement.

“Young man, time is of the essence, unless you have a proff” the judge said impatiently.

“Enough!” The judge held the hammer in his hands.

And immediately the judge’s statement was cut short by the loud opening of the door.

Everyone gasp and turned only to see Jaden panting.

“Wait!” He yelled under his heavy breath. He walked up to Lucian and stood in between the judge desk and the audience.

“He’s innocent!” Jaden announced loudly and everyone began to chatter something barely audible.

“What are you doing?” Lucian whispered nervously and Jaden looked at him.

“I’m saving your ass” he winked and faced the audience.

“Who are you?” The judge asked.

“I hereby postpone this case as we go into full investigation of the proff. We shall all meet again by tomorrow. Time, 11am in the morning” the judge declared with as the hammer of authority collided with the desk.

“Lucian!” Hope cried out, knowing he was been beaten.

Hope could hear him cough through the phone.

“I hate you Hope, say after me” Hailey muttered but he was persistent.

“I love you Hope” he said and Jerry hits him hard to the face – he coughed and spits out blood in a pained grunt.

“Please stop!” Jane sobs.

“Stop it, Hailey!” Cyrus yelled but got hit by one of the guys who pinned him down.

“Cause him pain!” Hailey ordered Jerry and he obeyed.

Hailey left the phone on speaker so Hope could hear him been beaten.

Jerry kept kicking him in the belly and face making him bleed from both his mouth and nose.

“Please stop! Hailey stop!” Hope couldn’t stand hearing him groan and grunt in pain.

Jerry took him by the jacket and hits his back hard to the wall – releasing several hard fist on his face. With each blow, Jane cried and Hope pleads while Hailey smiled in satisfaction.

Lucian gasped as he was flinged to the other side of the wall – his face swollen and his body covered in dirt and dust.

Immediately, the police kicked the doors opened…

“Put your hands in the air” the police chorus. Their guns pointing at Hailey and the others.

Hailey paused for a while and turned boldly only to see the large number of the cops.

“Well played, Lucian” She muttered and Lucian coughed in deep pain.

She raised the bomb controller remote with her thumbs on the red button.

“It’s a bomb!” One of the cops yelled and before Hailey could push the button, Cyrus Jumped on her and the remote fell to the ground – it clattered and rolled it way to the cops.

Cyrus rolled of her body and was bleeding – Hailey plunged a knife into his belly when he jumped on her.

“Call 911” one of the cops said and the process was taken.

At The Hospital~

Lucian finally regained his conciseness.

Opening his eyes, the first person he saw was Hope.

He smiled and his fingers caressed her cheeks.

“He’s awake” Hope said and he turned to see his loved ones – Harlan, Jeffrey,his mom, dad and mostly Jane.

“I thought I’d lost you” Hope said softly and he chuckled softly.

“Did you know you almost gave us an heart attack?” Mrs Aurora said and they all laughed.

“I’m sorry mom. At least i did it for her” he said and immediately he remembered someone.

“Where’s Cyrus?” He suddenly asked and they all frowned. He glanced at their faces and was wondering why they suddenly frowned.

“He was stabbed last night after he jumped on Hailey when she tried pushing the button”

“So? What happened next? He’s okay right?” He asked all at once and Jane shake her head as her eyes welled up in tears.

“He couldn’t make it” she pressed and Lucian chuckled mockingly.

Coming down the stairs, her eyes gazed at Lucian – the worried expression he wore was obvious.

The phone was on speaker.

“Hailey stop this nonsense” Lucian said softly.

The voice paused for a while in shock.

Hailey said in thoughts knowing that her plan was already ruined.

And before Lucian could speak, he heard Jane’s muffled screaming through the phone.

“Jane?!!” He called deeply worried that she might be getting hurt.

“Can you hear that? It’s Jane been tortured” Hailey smirked evily.

“Please don’t hurt her. I beg you please” Hope pleaded.

“Awn. She’s pleading” Hailey laughed.

“We’ll do anything you want but please don’t hurt her” Hope begged.

“Hmm” Hailey’s laughter died down.

“I love the sound of that. Well… only Lucian can end all this” Hailey said and the both looked at each other.

“What do you mean?” Hope asked, confused.

“I want him back!” She yelled frustrated. “If truly he wants Jane back, then he must break up with you and accept me as his girlfriend” Hailey inquired.

Lucian stared at Hope – neither of them knew what was going on in each others mind.

Her eyes beaming at hers – a sad worried look cast around her face.

“You have a whole day to end it all. Meet me at the Five star hotel by tomorrow evening” She strictly instructed them.

“And come alone” She pressed before she hung up.

Hope turned to leave but he grasp her wrist making her stop.

“If being separated brings Jane back safety, so be it” She muttered. She backed him.

Speechless Lucian just held her by her wrist – he was more broken than she was.

She forced her hand away from his grasp and he watched her walk away in distance.

Hope walked in.

“Unknown caller?” He muttered before answering the call.

“Who’s this?” He asked with his eyes staring at Hope who was eager to know who the caller Is.

“Your worst nightmare” the female voice on the phone said coldly and Lucian looked at his screen then puts it on Speaker.

The unknown caller smirked before speaking.

“You might be wondering where your precious sister is” and this got Lucian’s interest.

Hope’s eyes widened.

“Where’s she?” He asked, getting angry and the voice smirked.

“Well… she’s fine with me” the voice chuckled. “But not for long” the call ended.

Lucian quickly dialed the number again but it wasn’t connecting.

He was already breathing intensely and didn’t know what to do or what to say.

“Who’s the caller?” Hope muttered and he just stared at her confused and his blood boiling in anger.

His phone rang again and he quickly answered it.

“I don’t know who you are or what you are but don’t you dare hurt my sister!” He warned under his breath.

The caller only chuckled mockingly.

“Who said anything about hurting your pathetic sister” the voice laughed.

“I’m so going to torture her that she would beg me for her death” the voice suddenly became so cold and mean.

The call ended… and Lucian groaned in anger as he clenched his fist on the wall.

His hands bled.

“Calm down Lucian” Hope consoled and held him.

“Calm down? You said calm down? My sister is in danger and you want me to calm down?” He’s so furious and angry. He withdrew his hands from hers and walked away.
