Chief Jonah assessed the situation and in a split second, he decided to do the needful; pitch his tent with his family and save himself the misery he knew would befall him if his wife made good her thrēat and abandoned him.
He ran out of his friend’s house in pursuit of his wife and they were soon headed home, driving in utmost silence.
“Don’t tell me you’re going to sit still and watch our only son make good his thrēat and erase our name from his” Mr Jonah asked his wife when he noticed she wasn’t ready to say a thing as they drove home.
“If you’re going to ask me to talk to your son, you’re going to have to ask nicely, and find out the condition tied to making me do it” his wife smirked.
“Samantha, since when did you begin to take someone else’s sides when I’m involved in an issue? It’s me your Jonah, remember?” Chief Jonah said, trying to make her calm down.
“Honey, I began to take someone else’s sides, your son’s sides, since the time you chose to make another person, your friend’s interest, your priority. I am sticking to my decision to stand by my son because I know it’s the right thing to do” Mrs Jonah insisted.
“And you think you know what’s best for our son? You think I don’t know what I’m doing by trying to ensure that our son marries a woman that will add value to him?” Chief Jonah asked.
Chief Jonah and Engineer Philips have been friends for so long, but their closeness increased greatly after they met again, years after graduation, and found out they had both actually gone j to see line of business; importation.

“scrweeech” went the sound of the tyres of his car as he stepped on his brake pedal abruptly, swerving off the road at once.
“Have you gone nuts Samantha? How can you suggest a thing like that? How in God’s name do you think it’s possible to get me bless his union with a girl who is said to be unable to birth a child?” he asked his wife angrily.
“Honey, I think allowing Jovani be with the one he wants will be more beneficial to us all, none.of us is God, and we are not in.rhe position to judge who.can, and who cannot birth a child. I know you can still remember what happened when we were to get married” Jovani’s mum said.

“And Jovani? You think you have the monopoly of love? You think others do not feel what you feel? Did you not see the look in their eyes when they looked at each other even while you bombarded them?
“Please honey, give them a chance. Allow our son to pursue his happiness, thereby, making us all happy. Please my precious husband, I know you’re more than this. You’re a compassionate and understanding father, please my.crown, dont.let me have to.stand in an awkward position, because the two men in my life are at wàr” Mrs Jonah begged her husband.
At first, he tried to fìght off her pressure, but in the long run, the man succumbed to the power of a woman. He agreed with his wife, and Jovani got the shock of his life, when his mother asked him to come over to the house with his fiance, to receive his father’s blessings.
And so it was that three weeks later, Jovani and Sophia were gloriously married, having been able to get their parents agree to have them wed both traditionally and in the church.
Their Court marriage was held two days after Chief Jonah blessed their relationship, and preparations for a society wedding began in earnest.
Chief Jonah found out that Jovani and Sophia had planned to have a lot keyed wedding, but he had cancelled all their plans, practically getting an event planner to plan the elaborate wedding.
“You must have forgotten whose son you are Jovani! How can you imagine having an indoor party? Where will it be heard that chief Jonah’s only son, got married, and the who is who in the society didn’t hear of it?” Chief Jonah had queried his son.
The wedding day came, and indeed, all the efforts and resources that chief Jonah committed to the planning of the wedding paid off.
