Baldwin’s Mansion, LA – 08:31am<<
The sweet aroma of bacon woke me up from my slumber, I sat up at once, and rubbed my eyes for a few minutes as I let out a yawn.
Hold on a sec, slumber? Wasn’t I waiting for Duncan to come back home? When did I fall asleep?
Then I looked outside the window only to see it’s morning, and that’s when I realized how bright out room actually is -funk! I left the windows open all night.
The sweet aroma of bacon passed my nose again, and my stomach suddenly remembered how we skipped dinner yesterday, then it growled loudly.
I sprang up at once, and rushed to the bathroom and started my morning routine -I wanna feel very comfortable when I’m eating later.

“Rachel, breakfast is ready” I heard Mrs Jackson calling me.
“I’ll be down in two minutes” I replied her.
I hurriedly combed my hair, and packed it in a messy bun. I checked out myself in the mirror once more, then winked and smiled in satisfaction.
I’m wearing one of Duncan’s t-shirts, because I always feel comfy whenever I wear them. I wiped my face a few times before rushing out.

I hummed a happy tune as I walked down the stairs, but suddenly lowered my voice when I heard a sentence from the TV.
Reporter: … body was found outside Racan’s Entertainment.
Fatima was standing in front of the tv with a serious frown, I reached my hand forward to tap her shoulder, but decided to listen more before I make my presence known, because she might turn off the tv if she knows I’m here.
Reporter:… according to the little investigation from the police, Miss Tasha Wood was last seen with Mr Duncan Baldwin in ‘The Westin Bonaventure Hotel And Suites’, although it’s not confirmed wether she’s dead or still alive yet, but there’s been a lot of speculation that Mr Baldwin has something to do with it. Then Fatima reached for the remote control, and turned off the tv but my eyes didn’t move away from the TV’s screen.
She flinched back when she turned around, and saw me standing behind her.
“Rachel.. when did you get here?” she asked cautiously, as if she’s scared her question would upset me.
“Right on time to hear Tasha’s body was found outside Duncan’s company” I said. “What’s going on? Why was Tasha’s body was found outside Duncan’s company?” I asked her.
“Rachel, you should calm down first, ok?”
She helped me to a sofa, and gestured Mrs Jackson to get me a cup of water.
“According to the news, it’s she’s not confirmed dead or still alive yet, and I assure you Mr Baldwin has nothing to do with this, maybe someone’s setting him up”
I mentally rolled my eyeballs, of course, I know it’s a setup.
“I know he has nothing to do with it, but…”
Mrs Jackson interrupted me by handing me a chilled glass of water, which I collected and muttered a “Thank you” before bringing it closer to my mouth.
I hurriedly finished the water in one gulp, because I wanna say something, but unfortunately for me, I ended up choking and wouldn’t stop coughing.
Fatima and Mrs Jackson started rubbing my back to help me calm down, until I burped.
“I need to know what’s going on, why is everything that’s happening lately seem so bizarre? Where’s my husband?” I’m asking Fatima this question. “I need to talk to him” I added.
Fatima didn’t say anything, she simply reached for her phone and began typing on it.
I’m feeling lost right now, my husband’s being suspected of commiting murder, and to make matters worse, he hasn’t been taking my calls since last night, or even thought of calling me back.
“Rachel, Mr Baldwin’s video calling” Fatima said.
I snatched the phone from her, and quickly accepted the call, then Duncan’s face popped up, he was frowning before as if he had just finished scolding someone, but he quickly smiled when he saw my face.
“Good morning, beautiful” he greeted, and blew me a kiss.
I glared at him, I wanted to yell at him for keeping me in the dark, but decided against it.
“Where are you? What happened to Tasha? Why is the police investigating you?” I asked.
“Don’t worry, my heartbeat, I’m fine but I’m currently at the police station, and I’ll be home before noon” he said with a smile.
How can he smile in a situation like this?
I angrily shoved the phone back in Fatima’s hand, and rushed upstairs.
“Rachel, aren’t you gonna eat breakfast?” Mrs Jackson asked me.
“I’m not hungry” I lied.
“You skipping meals like this isn’t good for your baby’s health and growth”
I stopped halfway, and scoffed loudly.
“Well, his father doesn’t care about his health!” I snapped and dashed into our room, shutting the door in a loud bang.
Duncan keeps me in the dark a lot, this is his biggest flaw, well aside his handsome face, and I hate it!
