Zoey’s POV:
“Zoey? Zoey?” I heard her voice deep in my slumber and jerked my eyes open.
“What is it?” I bemoaned as I tried forcing my eyes open.
“Zoey! Wake up. You’ve been sleeping for hours now. Come on” she tapped me and I forcefully woke up.
I yawned and sat up on the bed.
“Oh mum! I’m feeling so dizzy!” I grumbled as I itched my eyes.
“Zoey, are you sure you’re fine? You’ve been sleeping a lot lately and why’s your temperature high?” She asked and I looked at her.
“I really don’t know,mum. I’ve…I’ve been feeling sick lately. But I think it’s the weather. Um….are you done cooking? I’m so hungry”
“Huh? Are you kidding me? You ate over 10 cupcakes before you slept. How can you possibly be hungry?”
“Oh…mother, I’m…”
“Anyway, there’s someone here to see you. He’s waiting outside”
I furrowed my brows and looked at her.
A he?
“Who’s he?” I asked curiously because I wasn’t expecting any visitor.
“I didn’t get his name. Go on and you’ll see him” she replied and left the room..
I thought. Who could the male visitor be? I don’t have any male friends.
I sighed and left the bed, going out of the room
I didn’t meet mum in the sitting room and I opened the door and got outside to behold the visitor.
Whaaaaaat??
His eyes beamed the moment he saw me.
What the hell?
“You?” I flinched.
“What’re you doing here?”
He inserted his hands into his trouser pocket and came closer.
“Hi” he muttered as he stood in front of me
“What -are you doing here?” I asked again, wanting him to go straight to the point.
“Look, I don’t want trouble, okay? I just came for us to talk…”
Before he could finish his statement, I gave him a stingy slap.
“Are you out of your mind?”, I rasped.
“After trying to rape me, you had the guts to come to my house? How did you even know where I live?”
He touched his cheek for a while before letting go.
“Like I said, I just came so we could talk” he said calmly and I scoffed.
“Really? Talk about what, Leo? Tell me”
“I’m sorry, Zoey. Sorry for trying to hurt you. I…I wasn’t thinking straight that night. I really don’t know why I tried to force myself on you…”
“Are you for real? Tell me, Leo, if I hadn’t smashed your balls, would you had let me go?”
“Smashing my balls had nothing to do with me letting you go. I wasn’t really hurt and if I had still wanted to have my way with you, I’d have f**ked you to your last breath”.
I gasped as my eyes opened wide in shock.
“You shameless animal! How dare you come here and say that to me?” I growled.
“Zoey please, stop making me look like a bad person. I’m really here to apologize, okay? I’m sorry for what happened” he said tiredly and I folded my hands.
“It was Mandy, right?” I asked.
“Mandy was the one who gave you my address – the same way she assisted you in tricking me to that room…”
“Woah! What’re you talking about? Mandy had nothing to do what happened. Okay? That night, she never called me on phone asking me to bring you to her. It was all my idea. She didn’t have a hand in it”.
I kept mute for a while.
“Well, I really don’t wanna have anything to do with you. You almost ruined my life. Now, if an apology is all you came to offer, you can leave”
And with that, I turned around
To leave.
“Zoey” he called back my name and I stopped to spare him a stare.
“I’m really sorry”. He cooed.
I gave him one final stare and without saying any other word, I walked away.

I returned to the sitting room and met mum there.
“Who’s he?” She asked immediately, her hand at akimbo.
Gosh! I knew she was gonna ask.
“Its no one, mum. He’s just…someone I don’t wanna see” I replied, tucking my hair behind my ear.
“Really? Why? What did he do?” She inquired, but I really didn’t want to talk about it.
“Look mum, it’s not important. I…”
Immediately, the strong urge came again and I covered my mouth with my palm and ran into my room.
As soon as I got into the toilet, I poured out everything from my mouth and took in a deep breath.
Oh God! Why does this keep happening?
“Zoey?” Mum came rushing in and met me in the toilet.
I slowly went to the washbasin and washed my mouth. I felt so weak.
“This is getting out of hand, Zoey. You’re really sick” she said from behind.
“Get dressed. We’re going to the hospital for a proper check up”.

“Son, son, come on; you can’t do this. You can’t possibly say you want to leave the country…”Mother grumbled behind me as I finalized the arrangement in my luggage.
“I’ve told you, mother; it’s important. I need to find Hathor” I said without looking at her.
“But what do you need her for?”
“She’s carrying my baby, mother!” I snapped and turned to look at her.
“She’s pregnant for me and you know it! I can’t simply stay here and have fun knowing she might be in danger”.
“Zosar” she called tenderly and placed her hand on my shoulder.
“I understand you but, you don’t really have to go after that lady just because she’s pregnant for you. You’re a prince – the most powerful prince – and they’re millions of ladies begging to kiss your palm. All you have to do is say the word and you’ll have hundreds of them on your bed”.
I sighed and backed her.
“I can’t leave Hathor, mother. I need her. She’s the mother of my first baby and I can’t just dump her” I said.
“That lady’s a traitor! She ran away from her own people. How are you even sure she’s still alive?”
“I don’t know, but I need to find her!”,I almost yelled.
“If not for anything, but the baby. I can feel it; the baby’s still alive. And I need to find her”.
She kept mute and I turned back to my bag and zipped it up.
“I promise to come home with her the moment I find her. I’ll be back before you know it. You can convey my message to father” I said coldly and walked out with my bag.

I made a promise to Hathor. I promised to be there for her and protect the baby. And that’s exactly what I want to do.
