She walked up to me with just inches between us. I stepped back a little and she went up with me.

“What’s wrong with her” I became curious. She touched my face and turned them sideways.

“Your face is not yours alone”she slapped me softly on my shoulder and smiled as she played with my cheek.

These people I called friends and the girl who claims she loves me treat me like an infant! Is anything wrong with me or is it them?

“Can you please stop pulling my cheeks”I asked

“You look cute”remarked Christine

“It doesn’t look so to me”I replied

“See you tommorow”announced Maya

“Aren’t we going somewhere”I called her back

“See you tommorow” said Steven.

I felt betrayed. Why would they leave me with her?
“Seems your friends are gone”she declared

“You should also be on your way home”I suggested

“I wanna spend my time with you”she answered

“What about my time?I asked. I felt the urge to sit back when I felt my right leg trembling softly.

“Be a good boyfriend and spare time for me”she grinned and sat beside me. Silence ensued between us and she was staring at me with pleasure which made me uncomfortable!

“Can I walk you to the bus-stop? I asked

“let’s go”she smiled and stood up real quick. I sighed softly and stood up on my feet.
She ran down to the feet of the podium while I was still standing up. I noticed how enticing she looked as she waved her hands indicating me to come down to her.

I reassured hope for myself and went down to meet her. We were walking on the street few metres to the bus-stop.

“Do you have any plans?she asked “yeah,get home and sleep”I said

“Okay, let me use the favors you owed me”she stated. I wasn’t ready for her request because it’s already looking like a date.

But if I agree to her request maybe I can get rid of her!I concluded. “Sure, what’s your plan?I agreed.

“Let’s grab dinner”she retorted.

“Dinner!I exclaimed “Don’t you have to eat dinner at home?I asked

“Doesn’t matter if I skip it once”she answered unbothered. I couldn’t do ask but care less about her affairs.
I followed her around as we walked through buildings,she knew the place better than I, who lived around. Then I sighted Subway. At that moment I knew I wouldn’t get to sleep on an empty stomach that night. We entered the restaurant and took a seat at the corner.

We ordered burger and fries with ketchup and a strawberry shortcake with a strawberry ice cream.

“You love strawberry?she asked

“Yeah” I replied
“Noted”she said. I sighed with disappointment at myself.

Silence ensued as we ate and stared at each-other at intervals but mostly I would already sight her staring at me with admiration which made me look down and continue on what I was munching on.

“I like you, Simon” Christine professed

“As a friend” I stated

“I love you”she professed again which made him look up at her to sight her serious face. She had stopped eating and held her hands tightly and pressed them on each-other.

“You really want to hear how I feel about you?I asked and she gazed at me with desperation I saw in her eyes.

“I’m all ears” she said
“I feel grateful to you for bringing me here”I said knowing that wasn’t what she wants to hear. She smiled softly and poked the shortcake with her spoon.

I felt somehow scared yet unbothered with her. Truth be told,I didn’t know how I feel about her and it made me feel awkward. There isn’t nothing to worry about as long as I’m not playing with her feelings! I assured myself.

“Now,can I know a little about you?she asked.
I decided to tell her anything she wanted to know to keep her lively.

“My name is Simon” I said offhandedly. Why did I say that! She knew my name, right?

“You know me right?I asked. Gosh! If she didn’t know me,we wouldn’t be here!I reasoned and tried to create a better statement.

“You should take it easy”she retorted and giggled softly.

I smiled at her “there isn’t nothing extra ordinary about me”I said “Just a normal guy with two close friends, living with his grandma, going through high school, there’s nothing special about me”
I scooped a spoon out of the strawberry shortcake she poked in the middle with her spoon.

“You are handsome”remarked Christine

“It’s a feature”I replied plainly

“You made me feel love at first sight”she added

“Yet you talked rudely to me at first sight”I scoffed

“I agree it wasn’t a good first impression for you”she smiled attractively and I reciprocated by grinning.

“What happened to you that day?I asked curious of the reason she wished me death.

“The school proprietress told me she would remove me from school if I were to cause trouble at school”she said

“So it made you furious you wished me death”I teased

“I didn’t know handsome guys hold grudges”retorted Christine.

“I think it’s unhealthy for my peace of mind to conserve grudges”I stated

“you look healthy”said Christine “You look healthy and gorgeous”I remarked.

A smile appeared on her face as she blushed. I was happy she smiled yet found it strange that we were holding a conversation.

“A flattering word for someone who was once admitted to a mental hospital”she gagged.

The last spoon of the shortcake that was in my mouth melted and left the spoon hanging in my mouth. What! Mental Hospital!. I stared at her with surprise as she buried her burger in her mouth. She caught me staring at her and raised her eyebrow.

“Surprised? she inquired

“Nope, just found you exceptionally interesting”I replied

“Interesting” she scoffed and smirked in disbelief

“Not everyone can have a normal life”I stated to reassure her I trusted her words. I know she’s crazy but I’ll accept her words,it fits her craziness!I thought.

She smiled which I found admiration to it. “You’ve finished the shortcake”she indicated at the empty plate.

“I didn’t notice I was eating it”I responded.

“It’s okay,I can just buy another one”she hastily went to the reception and came back with the shortcake. It was chocolate shortcake she bought this time. I stared at her as she swallowed every spoon. I was sure lost in her eyes,their movement that I barely noticed what what’s going on around me!

I saw her eyes caught mine and we locked eyes. Then I felt a spoon entered my mouth. I looked at her hand and traced it to my mouth. She was the one!

“We just kissed indirectly”she disclosed and giggled. I lost my guard to her eyes.!

“You haven’t touched your burger”she observed.

“I can’t eat much, I’ll feel bloated”I said

“Then,Why did you order it?she asked

“I’m reserving it for tomorrow morning”I said

“You can buy it on your way to school”she suggested

“We have practice at 6:30am and they wouldn’t be opened until 7:00am”I explained

“Strategic planning”she noted

“You don’t know how prep food?she asked

“I can prep food but I get tired to ignite the gas cooker”I said

“I didn’t know handsome guys are lazy”she smirked

“I didn’t say I was lazy,I said tired”I replied in defense

“If you say so”she replied plainly

“That doesn’t sound believing”I retorted

“Good,byou aren’t denying it”I scoffed and she giggled.

“Excuse me for a minute”she said as she stood up and went to the reception and came back disappointed.
“I was told you already cleared the tab”.

“It’s nothing of a big deal”I responded
“But” I cut her off “because you proposed it doesn’t mean you should be responsible”I affirmed “Don’t object it’s a norm” I added

“I don’t find it normal”she objected

“And I don’t”she said and I could feel her getting annoyed.

“I’m sorry if I made you pissed”I said and looked straight into her eyes. She melted like butter and sat down. She intertwined her her fingers trying to talk.

“Sorry,I didn’t mean that”she expressed softly. Her face holds emotions I couldn’t break into nor be released from them.

“We are friends”I asserted “you have emotions like a normal human being,so we are friends”I added

“I didn’t know you were observing me”she stated and scoffed softly

“Dating many girls, it’s a norm for me”I answered in hope of making her less interested in me because it’s a total turn off to tell a girl about your exes.

She smiled as if she knew my intent “I still love you”she professed again. Why must she be this strong headed? This beautiful girl possessing such level of resilience! I thought and yelled in my head. “I won’t fall easily for her”I vowed.

I raised my head up to her and I caught her already staring at me pleasingly. “What are you looking at?I asked

“At what God created for me”she began “I knew you’ll be skeptic and would find me displeasing but I just want to be with you”her statement crept slowly and swiftly into my state of mind and the ticking of a bomb went off. Boom Dead.

How can she be good at these words? “Oh God”I muttered slowly

“Did I made your heart thump”she asked curiously.

As if I would tell the truth “No”I faltered. “I find you pleasing”I haven’t finished my statement and she was already blushing “and I’m still skeptic”I added .

“Skeptic about falling for me?she asked

“Try your best”I uttered softly. We finished the ice-cream and made our way out of Subway.

“oh”I stuttered “Then bye”I said heading out to the street

“Simon” she hollowed and I retraced my steps back to her as she waved me to come over to her.

“Yes” I said

“You owe me two favors, right”she inquired

“Recently paid one” I answered

“I want to use the second one”she implied. My mind raced out to things she could suggest me to do with her and it made me curious.

“What is it?I asked staring at her mouth trying to guess her next words

“I want you to” she stopped and moved closer to me

“Kiss me” she demanded
