The doctor and nurses seeing how badly I was bleeding swung into action, and I was taken into the intensive care unit immediately. It was at the point of carrying out some tests that the doctor discovered that I just lost my one-month pregnancy as a result of falling from the staircase just as Olamide claimed. He refused to tell the doctor the truth so that he wouldn’t be labeled a bad person.
The remains of the dead child were taken out of me and I was placed under closed observation. When I regained consciousness, I pulled a call through to my immediate elder brother since he was in the force and was the closest to me. Knowing that he adored me greatly and would swing into action once he got to hear what Olamide did to me, I told him all that happened leaving no stone unturned.
Adejare was very angry to hear that Olamide beat up his sister till she lost her pregnancy, Without wasting time, he sent three men from the army to my home, Olamide was arrested and taken to the barracks where he was tortured day and night. My mother-in-law got wind of the situation and traveled down to the city to plead with me to forgive her son. At first, I ignored her because she was just so insensitive, she never cared about how I fared, she was just concerned about her son.
Adejare intended to ensure Olamide was tortured for two weeks but with my mother-in-law’s everyday cry and plea, I was forced to talk to my brother to let Olamide go.
When Olamide returned, I couldn’t recognize him again, It was obvious the soldiers dealt with him badly The bruises on his face and body showed that he wasn’t pampered at the barracks. My brother asked me to let him know if Olamide ever laid his hands on me, he made me realize that Olamide wrote an undertaken that if he ever beat me again, he should be killed and his body thrown into a lagoon.
I was so happy when I heard that, I felt Olamide would love me like I wanted after writing that undertaking, Instead, he became cold towards me when he came back, he refused to eat my food or even look me in the face. His mother who was around was the one cooking for him and tending to his wounds. My mother-in-law who had been crying and pleading with me to let her son go suddenly became hostile to me, It got to a point that she asked me not to cross her path. In one week, Olamide and I became strangers.
When my mother-in-law returned to the village, Olamide became worse, he started sleeping outside and when I called to know his whereabouts, he would not pick up my call. When I couldn’t take it again, I went on my knees to beg for his forgiveness the day he decided to spend the night at home but instead of forgiving me, he said he no longer loved me and suggested we go separate ways. It was as if a hard blow landed on my body, I pleaded with him to let us make our marriage work but he said he was no longer interested in me.
As if that was not enough, he revealed that Sandra was carrying his child and he didn’t want any of his children to be born out of wedlock so, he would be making her his wife after our divorce. Tears couldn’t stop pouring out of my eyes at the mention of that, I suddenly became bitter.

Ola: I never had the intention to kill your baby, I never knew you were pregnant. The best for both of us is to get divorced, I am sorry for wasting your time. I will get my lawyer to prepare the divorce papers and I will also ensure you get half of my properties just to make up for the wasted years.

Olamide and I both traveled to our villages to inform our parents about the divorce. Initially, I didn’t want a divorce but after giving it a thought, I discovered that Olamide’s heart was somewhere else and I couldn’t continue to fight a lost battle. When our parents heard, they kicked against it with the claim that it was an abomination hence, we couldn’t get the divorce, Olamide was then advised to make Sandra his second wife but should ensure he treats us equally.
I cried for days after hearing the judgment given to the situation, I was pained because no one thought of how I would feel, they were all after what people would say if they heard that the royal blood couldn’t have a lasting marriage. Despite the given judgement, Olamide chose to live with Sandra leaving me all to myself. When Sandra gave birth to a baby boy, Olamide finally stopped coming home with the claim that he needed to spend time with his son.
