“You look so pretty, happy birthday” Another unfamiliar girl greets me and stroll pass me. I’m currently in my party, my first ever sweet sixteen, a part I’m in control of without having my mom walk around with me.
I’m dressed in a lemon green short gown and silver heels. My blonde hair is wavy and I have some make up on. I feel so pretty today and older.
“How’s birthday girl enjoying her party” Taylor walks up to me with a smile and a cup of drink in her hands.
“It’s the best” I reply and a guy just strolled past me saying; “Looking pretty birthday girl”.
Taylor and I both looked at each other before bursting out in laughter. “This is crazy, I’ve never gotten this much attention in my life before” I shook my head, feeling amazed.
“You haven’t seen anything because it’s just getting started” Taylor smiles and slaps my shoulder twice. “Enjoy” She then walks away.
I find myself to the drink stand. “Birthday girl, let me do it for you” A random guy took the drink from me and poured it in a cup.
“Thank you” I smiled shyly. Feels so good to be treated like someone other than mummy’s girl. Someone important, I have girls and boys some I don’t even know are complementing my looks.
Maybe being blonde isn’t a bad idea, who cares about Derek anyways. Maybe if I keep saying that then I’d believe it. I’ll believe I don’t still care about Derek, despite the whole using me and dumping me then coming to pick me up anytime he wants and I wouldn’t stop myself from saying yes because I will everytime.
One thing I can’t deny to myself is the fact that I can’t escape Derek. It’s like he has a leash wrapped around my neck and pulling me back each time I tried running away. I will always go back to Derek.
I don’t to do this. It’s my birthday not Derek. I don’t want to think of him not today. I took my drink and sip but immediately spat it out, scrunching my face as I felt disgusted.
What the hell did I just put in my mouth?
“Hey… Dove” I heard a familiar voice called me. I looked to see Benny. “I heard from some friends your birthday is today so I came to wish you. I hope you don’t mind me coming over” He took the seat next to me.
“Not at all” I shook my head.
“Last time, I want to apologize. I should have done something and not let you walked out feeling like that. I really beat myself up at the memory ever since” He said softly.
“It’s fine, I’m over it” I respond with a smile.
“And last time I remembered I didn’t invite a guy named Benny over here” Taylor walks over, slightly staggering and looking a bit pale.
“It’s cool he can stay” I say.
Taylor only give him a dirty look before staggering her way out and it got me wondering if she’s okay.
“Sorry about Taylor, I kinda give her some rough information about you after that party” I muttered but I didn’t tell him I did that was it to save that asshole Derek or myself?
“It’s cool, I deserve it anyway and by the way” Benny access me from head to toes. “You look so beautiful tonight with the blonde hair and all” He looked at me affectionately, sincerity could be heard in his tone.
I don’t know why but I love the way he looks at me, he’s got gently eyes that can make any girl fall unlike Derek dark eyes that can make a girls head spin and make you think bad things just like all of the sudden I’m thinking of Derek lips on mine and his fingers inside me.
No… Not today. I sipped more bitter drink from my cup, it’s so bitter and it’s like it’s taking the thoughts of Derek off my mind so I took more.
“You might wanna be careful with that” Benny stops me from taking more sips.
I roll my eyes. “It’s my birthday, don’t you think I deserve a drink? Give it back” I stretch my hands but he kept his hand high.
I stood up from my sit and straddled him, putting one hand on his shoulder as I struggled to take the cup. I don’t know why I’m being extra active all of the sudden.
“You don’t need this Dove, you’ve already had enough” He’s stubborn. I sighed and sit on him, directly on his groan and he stiffen.
“Dove” He whispers, his gentle eyes on my lips. Maybe I don’t need the drink anymore, maybe I just need the lips. I placed my both hands on his shoulder and leaned to kiss him.
He didn’t even hesitate to kiss me back, putting his tongue in my mouth. He’s good but he’s nothing like Derek and I don’t want to think of Derek. I need to do anything I can to get Derek off my mind… Anything.
I took his hands and placed them on my hips. He pressed me hard against him and I let a silent moan as I grind on him. What is wrong with me, I’m making out with Benny openly, kissing him and grinding my hips on his crotch openly in front of crowded people.
The real me would never do this. The real me would never change her looks to impress a guy. Oh God I’ve changed a lot, mom is really gonna get angry with me if she finds me like this.
I felt Benny’s hands underneath my dress, his hands rubbing my bare high going higher and higher, about to meet that spot when…
“Dove! What do you think you’re doing” A dark familiar voice, a familiar presence. I slowly look up to meet that familiar dark eyes I haven’t been able to get my mind off for a week straight.
