The insisting ringing of the doorbell annoyed the hell out of Paul and when he finally answered.
He was more annoyed when he found a strange lady standing there, looking like peacock in her blue and green outfit with a touch of feathers on her head.
“Don’t ask for autograph. I’m not in the mood for it” Cathy said making Paul scoff.
“Aren’t you going to invite me in or are you so dumbstruck by my beauty that it’s left you speechless?” Cathy ask and that made him scoff again.
“Your beauty isn’t one to leave someone speechless? Instead it makes one wonder which part of the zoo you escape from cause seeing your outfit, it’s obvious that you are one of those peacock roaming around. If you want, I can give them a call for you” Paul said, earning Cathy’s anger.
“A peacock! How dare you! Do you know who I am?” Cathy yell at him.
“I don’t know and I have no intention of knowing. Kindly do me a favour and…”
“Who’s there Paul?” Nigel voice came from inside.
“It’s no one”
“It’s me, Cathy. I want to speak to you, Nigel” Cathy said quickly.
“Let her in, Paul” Nigel instruct and slowly, Paul step back to let Cathy in.
She gave him condescending look before making way in.
“Oh Nigel. It’s so good to see you again” Cathy cooed, giving him a hug.
“It’s been so long. I heard you’ve been busy with work”
“I have which is why I haven’t been here to see you after the accident. Hope you forgive me” Cathy said, taking a seat.
“I don’t have to forgive you. I know how hard it is for you as an actress. You barely have time for yourself, Emma told me…” Nigel stop at the mention of Emma’s name.
“Do you want me to bring you anything?” Paul ask, breaking the silence that ensue between the two.
“Coffee and make it black, need to watch my weight” Cathy said like a command.
“I will have coffee too, thanks Paul” Nigel said to Paul as he head to the kitchen.
“Paul? Is that your brother?” Cathy ask.
“Yes. Don’t you remember him? You met him during our college graduation ceremony” Nigel said.
“Oh, I remember now. Back then he had on braces and reading glass but he’s a whole let different now” Cathy said, preferring the new version of Paul to the past one.
“So, what brings you here. I know you didn’t just come to check on me and don’t you dare lie. You might be able to fool others with your acting skills but you can’t fool me” Nigel warn.
“Fine, I came on Emma’s behalf. Why are you ghosting her? The poor girl is sad, she loves you Nigel” Cathy told him.
“Emma will be better off without me”
“Why? Is it because of the state you are in?”
“What other reason would you think I will be ghosting the woman I love? It’s because of my situation. I don’t want her being miserable with me”
“I doubt that. Emma loves you and…”
“Don’t try to change my mind on this Cathy. I’m no longer the right man for Emma and I believe that soon enough she will find the right man”
“What about you? What will you do if that happens”
“I will be rooting for her, whoever it may be” Nigel said, a sad smile crossing his face.
“I can’t believe this is happening. I thought you two will be spending the rest of your life together. If only the accident didn’t happen!”
“Yeah, if only it didn’t happen” Nigel said, a bitter look crossing his face.

As soon as Emma return to the boutique where she works along side other designers, she was summoned to the boss office.
“Come in” Aurora, Emma’s boss said from inside.
“You called for me” said Emma as she took the seat offered by her boss.
“I did and that’s because have got good news to share with you since you are my top best designer and a shareholder to the fashion house”
“What’s the news? Hope it’s a good one?” Emma ask.
“Of course it is. We got our first major work, we’ve been given the task to work on the clothes which the royal family will be wearing to a royal gala” Aurora announce with excitement.
“Really? But how on earth? The royal family only works with the Blue Ville fashion house. What made them switch to ours?” Emma ask.
“Who cares? What matters now is that we are being recognized in the society and soon, we will be known in the world for our unique dresses” Aurora said.
“But…”
“No buts and shouldn’t you be happy about this?”
“I’m happy but it’s just this royal family thing makes me a bit wary” Emma said softly.
“What’s there to be wary about? We will be going there tomorrow to show them the designs and get their measurements and if we have time, we might as well check out some of the guards. I heard the royal family got sexy male bodyguards”
“Still trying to make your fantasy a reality?” Emma ask with a smile.
“Of course! You know how much I have been fantasizing to row in the hay with a sexy bodyguard and now that I have my chance, I won’t let it go to waste. You might also meet someone there” Aurora told her as they began to leave her office.
“Thanks but I’m not interested ”
“Don’t say no yet. I have a feeling that your gonna love the palace most especially the men there and oh! Have you seen the prince?” Aurora ask.
“I haven’t”
“He’s a real hunk, he might turn out to be your type” Aurora said jokingly.
“Never in a million years”
“Never say never my girl” Aurora said as she close the door behind them……
