RACHEL’S pov.

Baldwin’s Mansion, LA<<

“You’re so beautiful” nanny Pamela complimented me for the umpteenth time.

“Thank you, nanny” she simply smiled as I thanked her.

Fatima was right, nanny Pamela was already home when we got back from the hospital, and didn’t behave like a mad woman like she was when I found her on the road.

She was well dressed this time, her hair was neatly combed and fallen perfectly on her shoulders. She was the first to approach me this time, she embraced me and brought me upstairs to show me her room.

And we’ve been talking since then, which was almost a hour ago -although she hasn’t said anything meaningful other than complimenting my beauty, but I still enjoy spending time with her.

I don’t if I’m right or not, but I have a hunch that nanny Pamela is faking being mentally ill. I guess she knows what truly happened to Duncan’s family, it might be a very big secret, and she’s trying to take the secret to her grave.

But now that she’s here with us, she’s not gonna keep it a secret for long, I’ll slowly help her overcome her fears, and make her open up to Duncan soon.

“Nanny, Duncan and I have good news for you, but I’m gonna keep you in suspense until he gets home, and we’ll tell you the news together” I said rubbing my stomach.

Her eyes traced my hand down to my stomach, she frowned slightly then I saw something like realization dawning on her, and I saw her smile but it’s just for a split second -I almost thought it’s just my mind playing tricks on me.

“Nanny, would you love to be a grandmother?” I asked her.

“Grandmother” she whispered, then the smile came again, but it’s just for a second.

She’s definitely not mentally ill.

My stomach took the wrong time to remind me of food, it growled loudly. I wanted to ignore it and continue talking with nanny Pamela, but I surrendered when I felt the worms in my stomach biting my intestines.

“I need to get something in my stomach, I’ll be right back” I said, and rushed out -I really can’t bear this hunger.

I carried my small bowl of cereal and walked towards the living room, I love watching cartoons while eating cereal -what a weird obsession I have.

My steps faltered until they came to a halt, my fell open and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing in the living room.

There was a lady who seemed to be in her early thirties, sitting on a sofa in our living room, three boys (two of them seem to be twins) sat beside her, and the annoying part was, Fatima was talking and laughing with her as if they know each other very well.

What on earth is going on here? Who is this woman? Where did she come from?

My eyes widened at once, I felt a tightening in my chest and I gasped for air as a very dreadful thought crossed my mind.

Don’t tell me this is what I’m thinking it is!

Is this what Duncan is into all these years? Is he into sugar mummies? Are these his kids? Is this the real reason he hasn’t been coming home for six years?

But he sworn to me that he didn’t have any affairs, was that a lie?

My hand subconsciously touched my stomach, I looked down at my stomach as if I’m actually looking at my child.

What about you, son? Is your papa gonna love you too?

It’s not like I don’t trust my husband, don’t get me wrong because I trust him a lot, but I’m a normal woman too, I just couldn’t help this weird feeling a little bit upset.

I cleared my throat to make my presence known.

Fatima was the first to turn around, she smiled at me and called me over, but I glared at her in return -she’s smiling at me after talking and laughing with my rival -i’m not sure if she’s a rival yet, but I’m seeing her as one already.

“Fatima, who is…”

My words were interrupted by the sound of someone entering our door’s password, the door pushed and Duncan rushed in.

Great, he came at the right time, he has to tell me who this woman is.

His eyes searched the living room frantically until they landed on me, he rushed towards me, held my face in his hands and crashed his lips on mine.

He kissed me for a moment, then broke the kiss and pulled me into a tight hug, then released a long sigh of relief.

“Fuçk, I was worried they’d attack our home” he sighed deeply. “It’s good you’re safe”

“I’m fine” I replied him, and subconsciously patted his back gently to help him calm down.

He continued hugging me, until he heard Fatima clearing her throat, then pulled apart and we both faced her.

“Welcome, Mr Baldwin, but she’s here” she welcomed Duncan first, before gesturing at the woman.

Duncan turned to take a look, and smiled when he saw her, then rushed to meet her which made me frown and wonder if my guess was right.

“I’m sorry for giving you and the kids a fright, I hope you weren’t too shock?” he asked her in a very calm tone.

Duncan’s talking to someone other than nanny Pamela and I in a calm tone? It’s over! It’s really over for me!

“I’m fine, just…”

She paused, and took a deep breath as if to keep herself calm.

“…what’s going on? Why are we suddenly brought here?” she glanced at her kids. “Are we in trouble? Is someone coming after us?” she asked further.

Duncan frowned a little bit.

“Why did speculate someone’s after you?” he asked her.

“Because I’ve been receiving threatening notes lately, and Tyler..” she nodded at one of the twins. “.. said someone’s been stalking them everytime they’re going to school, I’m just scared and I don’t know what’s going on”

Duncan exchanged looks with Fatima, then shook his head. Alright, what’s going on here? Why are they exchanging looks?

Hello, someone’s dying of jealousy here -I wanted to scream at them.

“Don’t worry, you and the kids are safe here, just feel at home because starting today and right now, this is your home too”

“WHAT?!” I couldn’t stop myself shouting.

Is this some kind of joke? Why would he tell her this is her home too?

Shouldn’t he discuss with me, his legal wife, before bringing another woman to our home? Or am I overreacting on this? Isn’t it my right to know who this woman is, and why my matrimonial home is suddenly hers too?

I cleared my throat, and composed myself as I pretended as if I’m having a headache.

“Duncan, help me to the dinning table, I’m feeling quite dizzy and lightheaded” I rubbed my forehead to prove my words.

He sprang up at once and rushed to support me, and helped me to the dinning table which was a few feet away from the living room.

“Should I get you some water?” he asked after helping me sit down on a chair, but I caught his hand and stopped him.

“I don’t need water, but we need to talk” I whispered to him.

“About…?” he raised his eyebrows in confusion, or maybe he’s pretending to be confused because my words were very clear, and direct.

“Her”

I gestured towards the woman anyway.

“What’s going on? Why are we suddenly having new family members? And why didn’t I know nothing about it until now?” I asked in a whisper, I don’t want her to hear us.

“Oh, she’s just…”

His phone thought this was the right time to ring, his ringtone blared loudly until he reached for it in his pocket and checked the caller’s ID, before quickly answering it.

I also took a peek, and saw Lucas’s name on the screen.

“Lucas” he said as he brought the phone closer to his ear.

He stayed silent, and listened to Lucas for a short moment.

“Good job” Duncan said. “Gather up all our men, and make sure no one leaves until I arrive” then he hang up.

I looked him straight in the eyes, waiting for the excuse he’d give. He cleared his throat.

“Something came up and I have to leave right now”

My eyes flicked towards the woman and I kids, I’m indirectly reminding him that he’s yet to tell me who she is.

“I’ll explain everything to you when I get back, but until then please trust me.. I have no romantic relationship with her, you’re the only one for me” he stole a kiss from me immediately he said the last part.

I grumpily wiped my lips with the back of my palm, and glared harshly at him.

“Don’t kiss me next time, I’m not your wife!” I whisper-snapped at him harshly.

He simply laughed, and kissed my pouted lips which earned his chest a smack.

“I’ll try to be back in time and explain everything to you” he said, then rushed off, but not before exchanging looks with Fatima, I understood his look this time -he’s telling Fatima to take good care of me.

I don’t know if this happens to every woman, but I really, really hate it when my husband is being secretive.

Did he come back home to frustrate my life?

Abandoned Factory<<

“Bring the bîtch to the interrogation unit, boss is here” Seven told some of the guards that were guiding the dark room.

Eleven and Twenty exchanged looks, panic was written all over Eleven as he feared what the boss would do to them once he finds out they went against his order, and raped a captive.

Twenty signaled him to calm down, that he’s got everything under his control, then he stepped forward.

“Seven”

He called Seven who was already heading towards the interrogation unit, Seven stopped to listen to him.

“I’ll bring her, the guards aren’t supposed to leave their post” Twenty said.

Seven thought about his words, then frowned suspiciously at Twenty but nodded anyway, and walked off.

Twenty waited until Seven’s out of hearing, before turning to Eleven and slapped his shoulder.

“What were you doing? You wanted to give us away?” he said in a scolding tone.

“I.. boss.. he…”

“Calm down, he won’t find out a thing unless we tell him, just leave everything to me later and follow my lead”

Eleven simply sighed and nodded.

“Come on, let’s go” Twenty said, and rushed inside the dark room, Eleven followed immediately.
