Baldwin’s Mansion, Alabama<<
Mr Baldwin narrowed his eyes as he stared at a photo, then he dropped it on the table and reached for a file instead.
“We’re not sure if he’s the driver of truck back then, but according to our investigation he was also in the truck” Lucas said.
“Hm” Mr Baldwin hummed as he handed the file to Lucas. “Find him and bring him to my toy room, he must know something even if he’s not the driver”
“Yes, sir, but…” he trailed off.
Mr Baldwin raised an eyebrow at him, urging him to complete his words.
“It might take sometime to get to him, because he doesn’t have a permanent location and doesn’t go by a particular identity too” Lucas paused. “I guess someone’s helping him hide very well”
Mr Baldwin nodded.
“Take your time, but don’t waste too much time and make sure you bring him to me”
“Yes, sir”
Mr Baldwin turned to Fatima who’s scrolling through her phone with a frown, he cleared his throat to get her attention and she quickly put her phone away.
“Is there something you wanna tell me?” he asked.
“Yes, sir”
“What?”
“Mrs Baldwin saved an old woman and brought her back to her cafe, yesterday” she reported.
“An old woman?”
“Yes, sir, Mrs Baldwin called her nanny Pamela”
Mr Baldwin’s eyes widened, he frowned slightly as if he’s thinking about something, then he smiled shortly.
“Where’s nanny Pamela now?”
“We left her at the cafe”
“Go, bring her to one of my penthouses in California and assign some well trained undercover bodyguards as her maid and housekeeper” he ordered.
“Yes, sir. I’ll take my leave” she said and left.
Lucas waved his phone to catch Mr Baldwin’s attention.
“Sir, what should we do about Miss Tasha?”
“Miss Tasha?”
“Yes, sir, she’s still claiming to be Mrs Baldwin and… ”
Mr Baldwin laughed.
“Let her be then, let’s use her to confuse our rivals and keep my real Mrs Baldwin safe” he smirked.
Lucas nodded as he shoved his phone back in his pocket.
“You’re dismissed”
“Yes” Lucas made to leave but Mr Baldwin called him back.
“And don’t let anyone in until I permit you”
“Yes, sir” Lucas replied and excused himself, then Mr Baldwin headed upstairs to his and his wife’s room.

RACHEL’S pov.
I had just finished freshening up and was combing my hair, when my phone’s ringtone suddenly blared loudly and disturbed the music I was playing on my phone.
“Duncan, please check who’s calling for me” I said, but got no response.
I turned around and realized Duncan’s not in the room, I furrowed my eyebrows as I wondered where he’s gone, then I recalled he told me he’s gonna be downstairs discussing somethings with Lucas.
I sighed softly and quickly threw my hair in a messy bun, before rushing to get my phone.
Mrs Jackson’s name was flashing on the screen, she’s probably worried about us because she must have watched the news by now -my lips curved in a smile as I answered the call.
“Good morning, Mrs Jackson” I greeted her.
“Rachel, I saw the news, how are you and your husband now? Where are you? Are you both alright?”
Like I suspected earlier, she’s worried and I could hear it in her voice.
“We’re fine, Duncan’s injured but it’s not that serious” I rolled my eyeballs at my lie.
Getting shot thrice is very serious, if Duncan isn’t a strong man he’d be bedridden by now and…
“Some reporters came by this morning and wanted to have an interview with the landlord”
With the landlord? Isn’t that me or Duncan? How did they know that’s Duncan’s home?
“One of them said Mr Baldwin was spotted here two days ago” she answered my unasked question. “Luckily it’s just me and the other staffs, so they left”
“Hm” I hummed.
It’s good we weren’t home when the reporters came, I don’t think I’m ready to face them again or even have time to deal with their unending questions.
“Right, how’s everyone back home?” I asked, referring to the other staffs.
“Everyone’s doing fine”
She paused and I heard someone talking to her in background, they’re talking about some clothes and ironing.. one of the maids must have burnt either my dress or Duncan’s shirt.
“I have to go, Maria just burnt two of your dresses” she said.
I sighed and shook my head.
“Alright, but don’t be too harsh on her” I pleaded on Maria’s behalf, because I know she’s gonna get an earful from Mrs Jackson, she’s like everyone’s mother in our mansion.
“I can’t promise anything right now” she said and hang up.
I chuckled as I imagined her stern look right now, Maria’s so gonna regret making this small mistake and she’d vow never to make any more mistakes in her life.
My phone started ringing again, I checked the caller’s ID and saw Mike’s name flashing on the screen. I answered it.
“Hey, Mike, good morning”
“Morning, Rachel” he paused and I heard shuffling as if he’s walking. “I saw the news, are you ok?” he asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine”
I heard a sharp intake of breath from his side.
“That’s great news” he did another sharp intake of breath. “I thought you’d be injured and…”
Arms suddenly snaked around my waist, I didn’t scream or panic because a very familiar scent filled my nostrils and instantly I knew it’s my husband.
“I’m horny, my heartbeat” he said as he snuggled his nose in my neck, and placed a teasing kiss on my shoulder.
My cheeks flamed up immediately he said that and Mike cleared his throat loudly in the phone, which made me felt even more embarrassed even though Mike can’t see me.
“Go away, I’m on the phone” I tried to push him off, but he simply hugged me tighter instead.
“Get off the phone let’s make sweet love” he whispered huskily.
His comment just increased my level of embarrassment, I coughed loudly and purposely hit his injured shoulder which made him groaned and unwrapped his arms.
Then it dawned on me, maybe he’s peeked at my phone and know I’m on the phone with Mike and he’s saying this to show Mike I’m someone else’s property; Duncan Baldwin’s property.
What a jealous freak!
“Mike, I’ll call you back later” I said and ended the call.
I threw Duncan a harsh glare, my eyes trailed his body and settled on his injured thigh, but he simply grinned at me in return.
“What is your problem? Are you crazy?” I snapped at him.
“You’re my problem, and yes, I’m crazy for you” he winked at me.
“You wanna make sweet love with these injuries?”
“Of course, I’m injured but it doesn’t make me a cripple or stop me from wanting my wife” he replied. “You’re just too hot and I can’t help myself” he added and winked at me again.
I sighed and shook my head.
“I don’t have time to play with you right now, I’m late for work” I snatched my purse from the bedside table and headed towards the door.
Duncan caught my hand and pulled me back, making me fall on his lap. He hissed quietly when I sat on his wound, but that didn’t make him push me off.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“My cafe” I answered.
“You can’t go there today, I bet the paparazzi and reporters are waiting there for you”
“But… ” I trailed off.
I must go or nanny Pamela will starve, no one’s gonna feed her.
“Are you worrying about nanny Pamela?” he asked.
I frowned at his question, I was wondering how he knew about her without me telling him.
“Fatima already told me about her earlier” he said.
“She did?”
“Hm” he nodded.
I rolled my eyeballs, of course she told him, after all, she’s a spy Duncan sent to watch my every move.
“Don’t blame Fatima, my heartbeat, I was scared Ferrari would try something funny with you, so I sent her to be your friend and secretly keep you safe, and trust me, she’s been doing a perfect job”
Hmm, his explanation does make sense, Fatima has being a great friend and I know she value our friendship. I’m just mad that she kept her real identity from me.
“Don’t worry about nanny Pamela, I’ve sent Fatima to go get her and hide her in a safer place”
“Hm” I hummed, letting her stay in the cafe is truly unsafe.
He suddenly shoved his hand under my blouse and cupped one of my breasts.
“How about making love?” he asked, wagging his brows at me.
“You are injured and shouldn’t involve in any bedroom activities for the moment” I slapped his hand away.
“You can ride me since you don’t want me to stress myself” he suggested.
