Sophia bowed her head in anguish when a police man led her to the meeting room where Titan was seated waiting for her.
Disgust filled his face when he saw her, he couldn’t believe the woman he’d been living with all this while was capable of trying to hurt his daughter whereas her son lived with him.
“You’ve 10minutes” the man announced and Titan coughed lightly.
“I don’t intend to stay for 10 minutes, you’ve nothing to worry about” Titan said and the police man nodded before walking out of the door.
“Sign these.. ” Titan said coldly placing a folder on the desk separating them and that was when Sophia looked up.
Her eyes scanned the folder and no-one needs to tell her what’s in there.
“What are these? ” she asked in a tiny voice and Titan chuckled.
“A woman who mūrdered her husband and almost k!lled my daughter won’t be that daft, so please don’t waste my time” Titan said and Sophia took in her lips.
“I’m sorry, it was the work of the..” she was saying.
“Please spare me that sh!t and sign those papers already” Titan said rising from his chair.
Sophia stared at the documents in front of her for a while before shaking her head..
“I’m not gonna sign those.. This marriage is the only thing I have to hold onto now” she said in an incredibly low voice.
Titan huffed before snatching the documents from the desk..
“See you in court then” he said coldly before storming out.
“Ti.. ” she wanted to call but he was already gone.
The police man came in almost immediately leading her back to her cell until her trial in court.
••• Greenville Hospital •••
“You okay? Sure you can walk?” Bradley asked concerned as both mother and daughter walked out of the hospital.
Iris rolled her eyes..
“Not like you’d carry me anyways” she muttered looking away as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
Bradley squatted in front of her and Iris looked around before walking past him, her face was flushed.. Anna smiled.
Bradley groaned as he stood before running after them..
“Let me take you home” he offered and Iris paused before agreeing to go with him.
“Um.. Well, thank you” she muttered and Bradley just nodded.
••• 15 minutes later •••
“Whose house is this?” Iris asked when Bradley turned off the ignition.
Bradley smirked..
“My home” he muttered before coming down from the car and helping Anna out. Iris sat inside speechless.
Why on earth would he bring them to his house?
Bradley opened Iris’s side of the door signalling her to come out.
“Why are we here?” Iris asked looking around the impossibly huge mansion.
“Because your house is a wreck and you won’t want to return back there after seeing the state your ‘friend’ is in” Bradley said before strolling into the house with Anna in his arms leaving Iris to follow from behind.
Somehow he always has the right thing to say..
She followed behind marvelling at the hugeness of the house..

“Is the transfer papers ready?” Titan asked and the doctor shook his head.
“I’m sorry sir, but we can’t do a transfer at this point, she’s supposed to be up in the next day or two” the man said and Titan nodded before extending his hand for a handshake.
He stood up and left the doctor’s office and got his phone..
“Jordan.. Is about Megan, she got shot.. ”

You’re leaving? Iris asked seeing Bradley with his suitcase climbing down the stairs.
“Yeah, business trip.. Got a flight to catch by 12, it’s 10 now” Bradley said checking his wristwatch.
“Oh.. ” Iris muttered and turned around to leave.
“You can come along tho.. As my secretary” Bradley offered and Iris paused before turning around.
“I.. resigned already remember?” she muttered and Bradley nodded.
“Yeah I know but.. At least you could still work until it’s up to one month” he shrugged and Iris remained quiet.
“I.. can’t leave Anna, we just got here” she looked around rubbing her arms.
“The maids could take care of her and.. Bryan. Seemed she liked him” Bradley said and Iris’s eyes widened.
“Bryan?! So he could take her away again?” she asked her brows forming a cute v.
“Don’t worry he won’t be able to leave with Anna” Bradley added and Iris rubbed her temple.

“I take that as a yes then” he called after her but definitely got no response, he smiled before getting his phone.
“Book an additional flight for MS. Iris” Bradley said into the phone.
“But sir.. ”
“No buts Jocelyn, do as you’re told” Bradley said before disconnecting the call.

“I’m asking for the last time Nate, where is your brother?!” Robert asked and Nate shuddered, if only Maxwell had listened to him
“He left dad” he muttered and Robert took in dip breaths.
“That’s what you’ve been saying, where did he go exactly?” he asked and Nate took in a deep breath.
“He went to Dallas” he muttered in fright taking a step back.
Robert’s eyes almost bulged out..
“And why would he go to Dallas without telling me? Just why?! ” he yelled making Nate cower in fright.

“And who did he find?” Robert asked almost immediately.

“Can’t believe I agreed to come with you” Iris murmured as the chauffeur drove into the airport, she was very much aware of the fact that they were guards following behind.
For starters, she’d never been to an airport before maybe that’s why she’d agreed to come with him..
That’s what she’s trying to convince herself to believe but she knew deep down that she loves being around him.
“Hey, we’re here” Bradley announced before getting off the car, Iris rolled her eyes before getting off too.
The chauffeur carried out their bags placing it in front of them.
“Is there anything else sir?” the man asked and Bradley glanced at Iris who was picking her nails.
“Don’t let Bryan leave the house with Anna” he said and the man raised his brows.
“Who’s Anna sir?” he asked and Bradley almost smashed his head
“The little girl in the mansion, don’t let her leave the mansion. We’ll be back in two days time” he said and waved his hands dismissing the man.
The man drove the car away and soon the guards had left too.
Iris scratched her hair before turning to Bradley..
“Where did you say we’re going again?” she asked flushed.
This was the first question she was supposed to ask but.. then she didn’t which was very embarrassing.
“We’re going to Japan, hurry up..our flight will be leaving soon” Bradley said walking to the terminal.
Iris froze on her spot..
“Wait.. What!” she almost screamed but was quick enough to place her hand over her mouth.
Oh boy.. She should have thought better..
“Iris!” Bradley called and Iris grabbed her bag before hurrying after him.
••• Dallas, TX•••
“By my map, she’s supposed to be here” Maxwell grinned as he arrived at a compound with different apartments.
He stared at the map on his phone and his face paled in horror..
The map was showing red instead of green, that only means one thing.. She isn’t here
“F**k!” Maxwell screamed roughing his hair..
“No matter where you go I’ll find you” he muttered to himself, he took a last look at the apartments before walking away.
••• 10pm, Hillside Hotel •••
Iris was quiet dragging her bag beside her, the hotel was beautiful.. Looking at it, there were more of English than Japanese inside.
She was sure maybe it’s because of the time zone, it’s night time already here..
So it was more like a foreign hotel, she’d pretended not to see Jocelyn shooting beams at her with her eyes.
She couldn’t believe she’s in Japan.. Never in her wildest dream had she imagined to be here.
“You booked the rooms right?” Bradley asked when they arrived at the reception.
“Yes sir” Jocelyn muttered before walking to the receptionist.
Bradley and Iris stood behind, not a word was passed between them until Jocelyn returned.
Iris was already feeling uncomfortable, why would he bring her here if he wasn’t gonna speak to her.
Infact, what’s her job here?
She was feeling extremely foolish and wish she could just disappear and go back to her daughter who just got discharged from the hospital.
“Here, these are the keys to your rooms” Jocelyn said dragging Iris out of her reverie.
Bradley took his card key and left immediately without a word to the both women.
“Why are you here anyways?” Jocelyn asked and Iris frowned
“I have nothing to say to you” she muttered before leaving for her room.

Bradley came out of the bathroom wiping his hair with a towel, he reached for his short pants slipping it on while still trying to dry his hair.
He knew he acted weird earlier but everything had a reason and he wasn’t ready to explain…
There was a knock on his door, he reached for his phone..
It was almost 11pm, now who wouldn’t be asleep by this time?
He put away the towel before going for the door..
“Iris? What are you doing here?” Bradley asked looking around the hallway wondering why she wasn’t asleep.
Iris rubbed her arms clearly avoiding his gaze..
“I couldn’t sleep, I had nightmares” she muttered and Bradley raised a brow.
“And?” he asked crossing his arms, he was enjoying the view of her in her nightie.
It was giving out her curves gracefully but he didn’t let his eyes wander far.
“I.. Can I spend the night here?” she said in a low voice and Bradley leaned on the door.
“What makes you think you won’t have nightmares sleeping with me?” Bradley teased and Iris pinched her eyes close wishing she could just disappear.
“Forget I ever..” she was saying not until Bradley dragged her into the room shutting the door.
Iris was conscious of the fact that he was leaning over her pressed to the door.
“Boss?” she called but instead of an answer she felt his lips on hers, his hands on either sides of her face.
She gasped surprised making him gain access to her tongue, his tongue gliding over hers in a very soft kiss.
His hands left her face making their way to her hips and in one swift move, he hurled her up her arms wrapped around his neck while her legs were around his torso.
Bradley broke the kiss, his hot breath fanning Iris’s face which was beyond red.
He traced his steps to the dressing table placing her on it, he parted her legs before standing between them.
“How sure are you that you won’t have nightmares sleeping with me?” he whispered studying every reaction on Iris’s face.
“Because.. At the hospital..i.. ” Iris stuttered, her pulse was quickening with every word she spoke.
“I get it now.. You didn’t have nightmares when you slept on the bed with me that night at the hospital, right?” He asked, his hands rubbing her bare thighs.
“Hmm” Iris breathed.
“Tell me to stop.. ” He whispered leaning in to kiss her neck.
