It was a Saturday and Shiny Glamours had just a few workers who either came to grab something or get most of their works done. Jocelyn was part of those few, somehow she was sure Iris won’t show up in office today and it was weird that she doesn’t even knows the name of her colleague. She rolled her eyes and went to Iris’s desk.. well, when she’s done with what brought her here in the first place Iris would have no choice but leave. She smirked evily..

“Sure you don’t wanna see the park? I would let you ride the merry-go-round.. you had always wanted to get on the rollercoaster.. we can do all that” Iris said and Anna shook her head. Iris heaved, she’d been trying all morning to cheer Anna up but it proved futile.. the girl was still sulking and for the first time
she had no solution to Anna’s bad mood.

“Iris! You’ve a visitor!” Megan called from the sitting room and Iris rubbed Anna’s hair before leaving her room though she was wondering who would visit her.. she had no friends really except Megan.

Oh.. she does have college friends but there was no way they’d know where she lived.

“It seems he isn’t into you, we can just call off the marriage arrangements so everyone move on with their lives” Mr. Brown shrugged as he adjusted the glass on his eyes turning his attention back to the papers in his hands. Jolie pouted, she’d explained everything to her dad since her mum had gone on a trip and she couldn’t believe her father would say that to her.

“Dad.. but I love him. I think there’s a way you could maybe talk to him.. we could make it work” She whined and Brown dropped the papers on the desk before rubbing his hands together.

“Its been more than 10 years already since this betrothal was made and since then Bradley haven’t taken this up personally.. It’s either there’s a woman in his life or he just isn’t interested in you. I don’t want my only child wallowing in a one sided love, its obvious he only sees you as a friend.. ” he paused and reached for Jolie’s hands.

“Baby.. there are some things you should let go and in this case.. Bradley is one of those things. You’d always find a better man” Brown muttered and Jolie blinked.

“But..I’ll still try talking to him” he added and a smile crept up Jolie’s face.. she had no intention letting Bradley go whether her dad helps her not.

“You cool now?” Brown asked and she nodded cutely, he ruffled her hair with a smile on his face ad he watched her leave..his smile fell immediately. It was in cases like this he missed his friend..

Iris mouth fell open.. well, she’d be avoiding a scene like this. Megan winked at her and walked into the kitchen.

“Hi.. again ” Bryan waved a little and Iris blinked.

“Bry.. what are you doing here?” she asked baffled and Bryan raised his arms proposing he meant no harm.

“Good morning to you too.. I was bored and decided to check on you but seem you don’t live alone” he said and Iris raised a brow.

“Fine.. I just wanted to get to know you maybe we could go out?” he said and bit his lips. He never knew what brought him here somehow he just found himself here not after thinking about her the whole day and he never even got her name that day and Bradley would never tell him either.

Iris was dumbstruck.. okay, she met this guy whose car almost ran into her and somehow they met again.. he offered a ride which she accepted and now he shows up in her house unexpected!

“I.. sorry, I got..” she was still saying when Anna rushed out

“Mum.. can we still go to the park?” she asked and Bryan looked from the little girl to Iris. She has a daughter?

“Hi, I’m Anna.. what’s your name?” she asked but Bryan just looked on surprised.

“I’m Bryan.. kinda your mum’s friend ” he glanced at Iris who shot him a cold glare.

“Oh.. Nice meeting you. C’mon mummy, I changed my mind already.. let’s go” Anna whined and Iris nodded.

“Go on.. I’ll meet you in a sec” Iris smiled at her, Anna glanced at Bryan.

“You coming with us?” she asked and Iris shook her head.

“No baby.. he isn’t, he’s leaving already ”

“I would.. that’s if your mum let me” Bryan clasped his hands together.

Anna tugged at Iris’s arm, a pleading look in her eyes.

“Mum, can he come with us please?” she pleaded and Iris shook her head. She wasn’t having that.

“C’mon Iris.. just this once ” Megan said she was leaning on the door with a spatula in her hands.

Iris huffed and nodded.. she tuned to Bryan with cold eyes.

“Fine..” she rolled her eyes and Anna jumped excitedly.

Savannah squealed excitedly as they arrived at the park somehow the presence of Bryan lightened her dampened spirits, it made her feel like she has a dad.. well, she had a dad just that she doesn’t know who he was.

Iris walked quietly beside Bryan, she never imagined spending a Saturday with a guy. But, Anna was having a good time.

Iris stared at some kids on the merry go round and shrugged..

“Your.. daughter is cute” he complimented and Iris only smiled.

“Mummy, I need a Vanilla Ice cream with chocolate sprinkles” Anna said as she waited for them to get to her.

Iris crumpled her face..

“That combination is weird ” she said pinching Anna’s cheeks.
She looked at Bryan, standing upright.

“Can you help in watching her, I’d be right back and please stay here” she asked and Bryan nodded.

“Sure.. we’ll be here” he said and she smiled at him before walking towards the ice cream stand.

They both stared at her till she got caught up in the crowd..

Anna smiled mischievously..

“Hey.. mummy is cute right ” she said drawing Bryan’s attention.

He smiled before nodding..

“Your mummy is pretty ” he said and Anna cheeks turned pink.

“I’ll surely tell her that” she mumbled under her breath.

“Where’s your daddy? he asked and Savannah’s face fell.

“I.. don’t know my daddy. Mummy refused to tell me” she said and placed her fingers under her chin looking at him with misty eyes.

Bryan titled his head..

“Oh sorry.. how old are you?” he asked and Anna’s eyes brightened like she remembered something.

“I’ll be 4 next month.. you’d come to my party right? ” she asked and Bryan nodded.

“Yeah, sure. I’d be there” he smiled at her and she looked away.

She prayed her dad would come too, he had never been to any of her birthday parties and mum never talked about it.. she just wished for a change.

“Your mum is coming” Bryan said and Anna looked in the direction he’d pointed.

“Come let’s go over there” she pointed where Teddy bears were sold. Bryan shook his head, he doesn’t think that’s a good idea not when Iris was already approaching. She might get terrified.

“Your mum.. ” he started and Anna palmed her forehead.

“C’mon, she won’t get scared.. we’d come back on time” she muttered and pulled Bryan away.

Iris got to where they’d be standing earlier but she couldn’t find them.. she looked around, her smile was beginning to wane.

The ice cream in her hand was beginning to melt away.

“Anna! Bryan!” she called as she walked around, her heart was beating heavily against her chest.

There were different thoughts swimming in her head..

What if he was a kidnapper? She knew nothing about him, she doesn’t even know how to find him.. where have they gone? She’d told them to stay right here.. oh Gawd.

“Seriously at the park?” Bradley frowned over the phone. Why would Jolie suddenly invite him to the park?

“Fine… fine, I’ll be there” he rolled his eyes as he hung up the phone.

Just when he thought he would have a nice Saturday resting at home, she suddenly invites him to the park. . she said they needed to talk and he knew it revolved around their ‘supposed marriage’

He sighed before getting up to dress.. so childish going to discuss in a park that’s always crowded.

Iris was beginning to panic, she couldn’t find Anna and Bryan. The ice cream was spilling already but she cared less.. she was getting sweaty already.

She checked almost everywhere but couldn’t find them.. or maybe they were on a ride?

She hurried towards the rollercoaster and that’s when she bumped into someone, the ice cream smeared the person’s shirt and she tripped but whoever it was, was fast enough to hold her.

Her heart was thumping loudly in her chest and she looked up slowly as her eyes met with.. Bradley’s.

His eyes bore into hers and her shock slowly dissipated to awareness. She stumbled on her feet quickly, her eyes were fixed on his chest.

The ice-cream got him real bad..

“Boss.. I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking” she apologized slowly, wondering what on earth he would be doing there.

Bradley looked down at his shirt.. it was ruined. Few eyes were on them already. This is what he get for coming to meet Jolie but he was glad he met her anyways.. now, he’d put her to use.

“Come with me” he muttered and grabbed her wrist before taking her with him. Iris bit her lips hard.. he wasn’t supposed to touch her, the last time he did.. didn’t end well.

He asked a few persons directions to the restroom and her cheeks reddened when they gave them a puzzled look.

What’s he going to do with her in the restroom?

“Boss.. I.. ” she heaved, she needs to express herself to be able to get away, she still had Anna to find.

Her eyes caught Anna on the merry go round and she blinked before snatching her hand from Bradley’s hold.

She turned around and quickly hurried towards the girl.. she did not care to look back or watch the glint in Bradley’s eyes.

“Anna!” she yelled and Savannah’s eyes widened immediately, Bryan also got his mouth hanging.

Iris was fuming when she got to them.. if she hadn’t gone looking for them, then she wouldn’t have to see her boss..

Anna waved at Iris who glared at her harshly..

“What are you doing here?” she half yelled, she was venting the frustration of bumping into her boss on the little girl.

But Anna wasn’t looking at her, she was staring at something behind her..

Bradley’s eyes met with that of a little girl and his heart skipped a beat…
