His voice caught me off guard, and I immediately turned the door knob.
Kelvin ran inside and shut the door behind him.
“Guy what happened? Who was after you?” I asked.
“Omo…they…they…” he was panting heavily.
“Just…catch your breath, then you can go ahead.”
Suddenly Kelvin burst into laughter.
“My goodness…you’re so gullible.” He said, laughing hysterically and pointing at me.

He appeared shocked.

“Yes…exactly. Dagger is the leader of the black wolves, he has been on the wanted list right from time. Only the sound of his name causes the hearts of men to dance and the hearts of kids to shiver.”

I couldn’t believe he had never heard of them. They were a gruesome set of bandits, their leader – Dagger was a terror to everyone, causing havoc wherever he had goes.
Despite all the security agencies had done, they couldn’t get rid of him. Dagger perpetrated an evil out of this world. Sometimes, he and his group would burn down banks, carry out kidnaps or randomly murder people for the joy of it.
“Guy, those people are very dangerous, even the government fears them.”
“Well, that’s the government. Idan like me fears no one,” Kelvin said grinning from ear to ear.
“You must be joking.” I replied.
“Look, I don’t care about the black wolves or whatever you called them, just take a look at the things I got.”
He handed two big fancy bags to me, I didn’t even notice them all along.
The first thing I brought out was a phone pack, my eyes couldn’t believe it.
“Guy, who bought you this phone? It’s over half a million naira!”
“Idan doing Idan things,” he chortled.
“Bro…how come?”
“When I told you that I would soon leave you in the trenches, you thought I was kidding, right? I’m flexing my sugar mummy’s money.”
I was dumbfounded.
I continued emptying the bag, there were different kinds of snacks. The other one contained some expensive looking designer clothes.
“So you mean you got all these with her money?”
“Of course, and I have to announce that I’ll be moving out tomorrow.”
“To where?” I asked bemused.
“To Greenland estate, God has buttered my bread,” he said smiling sheepishly.
“So you want to leave me here?”
“It’s not me that wants to leave you, you’re the one that doesn’t want to follow up,” Kelvin bluntly said.
“Look, my woman has a friend searching for a young guy like you and she is willing to pay millions.”
I listened avidly, and it seemed I was beginning to give it some thought.
