    Group B were Melody Armstrong, Henry Stephen and David Bill.

    Mrs Hannah congratulates them and later asked them to see her in the staff room during break time for proper briefing. Gladys was so angry to be in Amanda’s group instead of melody’s group, she hated that girl called Amanda but there’s nothing to be done.

    After Mrs Hannah has left, melody called her team to have a word with them, she sees that as an opportunity to talk to Henry which she was strategiesing on what to tell him.

    Amanda who was eavesdropping on them smiled and then walked out of her hiding place so as not to be caught as she smiled that this is the moment she has been waiting for to strike.
    In the rules and regulations of golden gates school no students were allowed to be found in a dark corner or any lonely place exchanging love actions but here was Henry and melody hugging each other never to let go.

    Mr Patrick came back to Mrs Armstrong with his wife who followed behind.

    Mr Patrick left almost immediately with his wife and melody came out of her hiding place still with tears in her eyes which made her parents wondered what could have possibly cause the tears.     Mr Armstrong and melody finally arrived their home, Mr Armstrong didn’t understand what was happening as he finds out that there’s new zinc on the roof. He cleaned his eyes again so as to be sure that he wasn’t dreaming, Lo and behold it was not dream but real as he wondered who could have been responsible for that.

    After so much inspection I’m the house, Melody told him that since the house has been roofed by a good Samaritan who they don’t know and never heard of that they should return to their house which Mr Armstrong agreed though he was feeling shameful to do so since he didn’t know the person that was the good Samaritan but that was the only choice for him as he returned to his house with his family.

    Melody was so heartbroken with what Mrs Patrick accused her mother of being a witch, though she didn’t confront her but she wanted to let it die down that way. She was seen running into their compound with tears in her eyes as she enters the backyard and started digging the ground as if she had something inside, suddenly she brought out a well wrapped clothe in a bag, that was the “30,000 naira Henry gave to her including her savings #10,000 thus making it to be #40,000 in total.

    She thought about what the money will provide for them in such situation, she knew that the money was not half of the money to buy zinc. She later stood up with the money in her hand.     Days turned into weeks as melody keep selling oranges on the streets just to survive with her family. It was Saturday morning as melody sat down thinking about her life and how she’s going to overcome her challenges in life.     They didn’t have anywhere to move to talkless of where to sleep in the night as they stood inside the roofless house and the rain keep on pouring on them as a shower of blessing.

    The house was now roofless adding to the situation of the family. It was really heartbreaking in the morning as people came and checked the roofless house shaking their heads pitifully without anyone offering them help. Melody was lost in thought standing at a corner, she didn’t know what to do, just then she remembered the money Henry gave her that it was in a bundle and it was huge, she remembered that she didn’t count it after collecting the money, she ran inside the roofless house to where she kept it and took out,she went into the backyard so as not to be noticed by anyone, she counted the money to discover that Henry gave her #30,000 she was stunned as she covered her mouth with her hands.

    Mr Patrick walked to melody and placed his hands on her shoulder thus making her to startle and then look up to see Mr Patrick.

    Mr Ebuka the SS1A class teacher came in to the class and informed them to elect their prefect now as the former one has left for another school.

    Gladys didn’t even even allow Mr Ebuka to finished his speech as she stood up and mentioned Melody’s name this generating more jealousy by Amanda.

    Melody knew what that means if she’s been chosen as the class prefect, though her situation has changed and she happens to be liked by everyone in the class including Mike and Dave who hate her.

    Without wasting of time, she stood up.

    Melody looked at the questions and smiled as they were to easy for her to handle, she took time in answering the question.

    They all summited their answers to melody to take it to Mr Williams their economics teacher, Amanda knew what was running through her mind as she collected the script from melody and then left for the staff room.

    She took the stiair case down and on getting to the ground, she took her left and then scattered the paper looking for Melody’s answer.

    Immediately she found it she smiled and went through the answers and discovered that melody answered everything, she took the paper and tear it into pieces and then took the rest to Mr Williams the economics teacher.

    “Let’s see how you will pass economics without your test script “Same said and laughed wickedly.

    Melody didn’t know what had happened to her script all her thoughts was that she’s going to score the highest point.

    Melody’s spread around the school as the most brilliant student in the school and both junior and senior ones respected her this creating more forum for Amanda to hate her the more.

    The principal general was proud to have a brilliant student like that who’s firm was heard everywhere, he was glad that finally he has someone who will represent his school in any competition.

    Mr Armstrong at home was now strong and healthy as he sat down outside his hut receiving the fresh breeze as his wife Mrs Armstrong emerged from the inside with a tray of hot soup in her hands.

    School finally closed for the day as everyone took their bags to leave but melody didn’t show any sign of going home, she sat there looking sober.

    Amanda walked out of the class then turned and smirk at melody who didn’t say anything.

    After everyone has left, she finally leaves the school at last with the thought of how everyone behaved with her in school that day but she couldn’t find the right answer to it as she head home.

    How the news spread around like that was not known to anyone and who took up the responsibility of spreading the fake news about Melody.

    Even Mrs Hannah heard it and she was shocked to the bones especially for the fact that she didn’t see melody to be such a girl.

    A smile crossed Amanda lips and she gives her friends high shouting out that her plan has finally worked out.

    She went ahead to tell people that even if she comes to school the next day because she knew that she will definitely not stay away from school forever that she has aborted it. she went ahead telling people to observe Melody when she comes to the school that she will be thinking and will be dull in school even that she will be looking pale too so as to convince them to believe what she said to be true.

    Melody finally dressed up and looked at herself in the small mirror in their house not minding to check on her parents because Mr Patrick had taken proper care of them as she always wanted.

    She took her books and left for school, on getting to the school the school assembly was on and none noticed her presence except the junior students.

    Amanda was standing at the front side when she immediately turned and saw melody standing at the far end. she tap her friends and they went ahead and tap other people and soon all eyes were fed on melody as she stood looking confused whether she’s smelling or she’s not normal thus making her to feel uncomfortable especially how the male eyes moves rhythmically up and down at her.

    Without wasting time Mr Anuma proceed to the board and wrote the topic of the day lesson which was “DENUDATION “.

    Yes it’s true that Amanda is brilliant too and she normally takes up the first position in the class and she always represent her school in any inter-school competition.

    Amanda stood up slowly and smiled.

    The class went silent immediately to hear what melody will say but to their out most surprise she didn’t say anything she was lost in thought and almost half of the class concluded that the news they heard about her was true.

    Mr Anuma asked a girl who sat near her to touch her and immediately the girl touched her, she jerked up from her thought and that was when she noticed that all eyes were on her.

    “Now tell the class what I asked you”Mr Anuma requested and melody didn’t know what to say she only stood there like a molten figure wondering what the question was.

    Mr Anuma shook his head pitifully and then signalled another person to answer which he did.

    “What are you thinking in my class?

    “Sir, she’s thinking about her baby that she aborted “Amanda blurted out which got the class in a transfixed situation as their shout echoed the class.

    Mr Anuma wondered what could have made Amanda to say such.

    “And who asked you to speak for her? Mr Anuma faced Amanda angrily.

    “As for you come over here and kneel down here until I finish teaching “He ordered melody who obeyed the instruction and did as instructed.

    While kneeling down Henry kept glancing at her feeling the pain in his heart and melody kept returning the glance immediately after.

    The rest of the lesson was boring to Melody as she was kneeling down and God finally answered her prayers as Mr Anuma finished his stuff and picked his lesson note and left the class and she stood up almost immediately and her knees were paining her.

    Immediately Mr Anuma left, Mrs Hannah who was waiting for him to leave entered the class and didn’t even noticed that melody is in school.

    She walked to the board and wrote the topic of the day on the board.

    “Good morning everyone, today we are dealing with the topic “REPRODUCTION “,and can someone tell us what is reproduction? She asked and almost immediately all eyes turned to melody to answer the question as if she’s the one holding the key to the answer of the question.

    Henry looked away immediately his eyes caught her own.

    That was when Mrs Hannah noticed melody presence in the class and she was shocked, and he knew the reason why all the students eyes fed on her too they have heard the news of her pregnancy.

    “Sorry class we will continue this class another day, melody follow me now! she ordered and took her books and leave and immediately without asking questions she followed Mrs Hannah to the general staff room.
