Daphne picked up her phone and went to her mother’s number. “Time to celebrate Christmas with my family” She muttered and dialed the number.

She thought for a while before shaking her head and deleting the number she just dialed.

“How about I surprise them instead, they won’t even know I’m coming for Christmas,” she thought to herself and smiled.

“Driver, can you take me to a supermarket?” She politely requested.

The driver was in shock at who had just spoken to him. He slowly turned back to make sure it was Daphne because politeness and Daphne don’t go together.

“Yes ma’am” Nevertheless, he answered and changed the direction of the road he was going to where the supermarket was located.

They finally got there, Daphne got the car by herself and stepped down.

“You just wait here, let me get something real quick I’ll be back,” she said to him before going to the supermarket.

‘Did Miss Daphne hit her head or something?’ the driver asked himself.

Soon Daphne came out with lots of wrapped gifts in her arms and the driver looked surprised once again. Why does she have a Christmas box in her hands?

“What are you looking at, open the door my hands are full” Daphne raised one of her brows and the driver hurried to help her with the door.

Michelle was waiting on the front porch for Daphne to come back home drunk like she always does every Christmas Eve.

The car finally arrived and Michelle had to clear her throat more than twice to make sure it was Daphne walking towards her, not staggering and holding gift boxes.

“Good.. evening young madam” The look of confusion didn’t get off Michelle’s face. “Are those Christmas boxes in your arms? Do you want me to burn them for you?” Michelle almost carried the box from Daphne’s hands but Daphne was quick to stop her.

“I changed my mind. I will be spending Christmas with my family tomorrow, I want it to be a surprise and I hope they love it” Daphne smiled.

Michelle was still in shock. Was this the young miss or does she need to go closer and see if she pulls harder than the person behind Daphne’s face can show up?

Daphne gave out an awkward look before going in. She arranged the boxes on the table and bit her lips.

“Michelle, actually I got these for you and the other workers” She faced Michelle who followed her from behind.

“You did?” Michelle couldn’t believe she was not dreaming.

“Hmm.. Merry Christmas in advance and don’t tell my mom I’m coming home tomorrow. I want to surprise them” Daphne said with a smile before going to her room.

Michelle’s eyes following her traits became invisible. “Whatever young people miss at work or wherever she’s coming from, I hope it doesn’t leave her so I can die happy,” she said to herself.

NEXT MORNING★

Daphne slowly opened her eyes and the first thing she did was look at the window to make sure that the fairy didn’t lie to her. There were no tornadoes, just slow and families moving about in their Christmas outfits.

She rushed to the TV and turned on the news. No one was talking about any tornado or natural disasters. It was all Christmas.

‘If I didn’t have that… I don’t know if it was a dream but was any of these real? Was Lilly real? If I had ignored then would Emma die? Will Christmas turn into everyone’s nightmare and will my family die?’ Daphne thought to herself but immediately shook it off and proceeded to wear clothes and go to visit her family.

Daphne finally arrived at her family’s house. She looked at the cozy apartment covered with Christmas decorations and snow. She smiled as she stepped down from her car and then went to knock on the door.

It took some minutes before the door opened but since Daphne couldn’t see anyone in her level, she bent her head down to look at little Jojo staring at her in surprise.

He must be wondering what she was looking for here but oh well..

“Merry Christmas Jojo” Daphne smiled and waved.

“Ahhhhhhhhh!!!” JoJo screamed like he just saw a monster as he ran back in and Daphne sighed to herself.

“Well, I kinda deserve that,” she pressed her lips together.

Footsteps could be heard and Daphne sighted her mother.

“Sweety, Jojo said he saw a ghost and that leads me to my next question. Why are you here?” Samantha asked.

“Come on Mom, I agreed not to spend Christmas with you guys yesterday and you are turning your back on me?” Daphne pouted.

“You hang the call on us and your father is mad” Samantha twitched her lips.

“Very mad!!” Christopher shouted from his room and Samantha raised her brows, looking at her daughter with an “I told you so” look.

“I’m sorry” Daphne whispered.

“Of course, you are always.. wait did you just say sorry?” Samantha who was about to scold Daphne suddenly became surprised.

Daphne gave out a simple smile and Samantha called her husband’s attention.

“Darling, Daphne just admitted that she’s wrong and she said sorry!!!” She shouted.

“I also want to spend Christmas with you guys” Daphne whispered.

“She also wants to spend Christmas with us!!!” Samantha added.

Soon they accepted Daphne in, hugged, and had a little reunion.

“What do you think about going ice fishing with us?” JoJo asked.

Daphne remembered what happened in her vision and she shook her head. “How about we do something more fun?” She smiled.

“What?” Christopher asked.

In the snowy compound, the music All I Want For Christmas was playing. Seems like Daphne invited a few people as Emma and her little sister could be seen singing along to the music with Daphne’s parents.

Daphne stood from a corner, watching them with a smile.

“Sis” someone called and she turned back to see JoJo looking at her with a box of presents.

“I wanted you to come today, I got you this behind Mom and Dad’s back because they were mad at you. I’m really happy that you came today” he handed the box to her.

“Thank you” Daphne smiled and accepted.

Nina rushed to JoJo.

“Hey my name is Nina, can we be friends?” She asked lively.

“My name is Joseph and of course I’d love to be your friend” JoJo responded.

Daphne smiled and squatted before them.

“JoJo, do you wanna show Nina your decorated room?” She asked the little boy.

“Do you wanna see it?” JoJo faces Nina and she nods.

“Okay kids, run off” Daphne smiled as she watched them leave.

She unboxed the present and was surprised to see a doll that resembled Lily. It was a fairy with wings and a Christmas outfit just like Lily.

“Lily” she whispered and hugged the doll to herself.

It was all real, the vision was real and Lily helped her to be a better person and see Christmas was not that bad, even the song playing wasn’t that bad.

“Daph, come join us!!” Emma waved and before Daphne could say anything a snowball hit her.

“Hey!!” She shouted with an unfair look at her father.

Emma picked hers and threw it at her.

“Game on” Daphne kept Lily in the pocket of her coat before packing her snow and running towards them. Soon JoJo and Nina came back outside to join the fun snow fight.

All that was left was the sight of families and new friends enjoying the rest of their holiday having fun and celebrating their Christmas in the happiest way ever.

It’s Merry Christmas I guess.

Daphne was lying on the bed with her iPad and was on a video call with her family just like what happened yesterday.

“Oh my God! I’m back on Christmas Eve, I’m back to yesterday !!” Daphne put her hands on her face and gasped.

Daphne blinked her eyes that were wide open as she stared at her past self whom was on the video call.

“Little Tinkerbell?” Daphne called, looking around but saw no one.

“Lily!!” She called yet still no response from the fairy. Did she just dump her hear, what is she actually going to do now!

“My no is always a no Mom, why do you always try” Her past self snapping at her family on video call, brought her attention back.

Past Daphne immediately hung up and walked in the shower. Daphne took slow strides, staring around..

She looked at the calendar to make sure it was 24th December.

“Okay! So what I have to do is stop my past self from firing Emma.. But how?”

She watched as her past self finished dressing up, picking her coat.

“Hey!” Daphne called but her past self proceeded to wearing her coat.

“Listen Daphne you need to stop! Don’t go to the club, mom, dad and JoJo. You’re going to get them in trouble and-” Daphne was talking and went she made to touch Past Daphne, her hands went through.

Just like she expected, she was translucent and her past self couldn’t help her.

Past Daphne walked out of the room. “No, wait!” Daphne went after her but it was too late for she already got in the car, driving off.

“What do I do?” Daphne muttered, slowly panicking

The image of what could happen to her family flashed in her mind and that only added to her anxiety.

Daphne’s eyes went to the golden leaf that was wrapped around her wrist. She brought her wrist up to look at it.

An idea came in her mind and she took in her lips.

“Trying won’t hurt right?” She thought and raised the hand that had the golden leaf.

She drew a circle and her eyes widened when the portal opened.

“It worked!” Her eyes brightened and without wasting time she walked through the portal.

The noise and the blaring speakers of the club immediately hit her ear and she opened her eyes to find herself in the club.

Her eyes began wandering around till she spotted her past self dancing crazily with her friends.

She watched as past Daphne left her friends to the bartender.

“No!” She exclaimed and immediately rushed to them.

“Emma, a glass of ruby for the young lady” The bartender said to Emma who went to bring the order

“No… No! Stop!” Daphne muttered but nothing happened, she watched as history repeated itself

The drink empties on Daphne how the crowd watched them as Daphne landed a slap on Emma’s cheek

“No!! Don’t do that!!” Daphne screamed from her spot. She made to intervene but just as expected her hands went through the body of anyone she touched.

Her heart began palpitating in fear.. Was this really going to be it? If she fails to stop herself then everything is gone

“Hey you” Past Daphne dizzily pointed at the bartender. “I want her gone or this place closes! Gross!”

Daphne could feel her world spinning as tears escaped her eyes.

“Stop!!!!!” She screamed loudly with her eyes closed and word echoed loudly.. More and more and more till the place became déad silent.

Daphne jolted and opened her eyes to see everyone was looking at her, wait could they see her now?

A gasp escaped her lips when she realized she was now in the place of her past self.

“You heard her Emma, you should-”

“No wait!!” Daphne immediately said, stopping the bartender from firing Emma. Daphne faced Emma who had a scared look on her face.

Daphne smiled lightly. “I’m sorry, it’s all my fault I shouldn’t have push away the drink. Please don’t fire her” Daphne said and everyone even Emma herself looked shock

Daphne’s popularity was well known to everyone and she was well known to be arrogant and proud. Her humbly apologizing is a very huge surprise to everyone

“Uhh.. Okay” Bartender muttered, confused on why she asked him to fire Emma but later changed his mind.

The club continued playing their song and the rest resumed dancing wildly.

Emma made to go and resume her work but Daphne stopped her. “Umm Emma right?” Daphne spoke.

“Y-Yes ma’am” Emma bowed down.

“You can call me Daphne, we’re almost age mates” Daphne smiled and Emma looked at her in surprise, not sure if she should worry or be happy for Daphne’s sudden change towards her.

“Sir, is she done with her duty? Can I take her along?” Daphne asked the bartender who nodded.

“Please follow me” Daphne said and led the way, Emma slowly followed.

Daphne’s friends watched them in shock… What is happening??

Daphne and Emma got out of the club before Daphne faced her.

“I’m sorry once more about earlier” Daphne said and Emma nodded.

“It’s nothing, it’s my job as a server to do things right” Emma muttered.

“I and my family will be having a Christmas party tomorrow. Will it be okay if I hire you to serve at the party? The pay will be huge trust me” Daphne said and Emma’s eyes widened

“Really? Yes!!” Emma exclaimed without realizing. Daphne chuckled.

“The party is open for everyone. You can bring your brother… Or sister along” Daphne said, emphasizing on the word “sister”

“Thank you so much ma’am!!” Emma bowed in gratitude.

“Places are pretty cold. Please let me drop you home” Daphne said.

“Thank you” Emma said humbly

Daphne smiled and led the way to her. She got in with Emma and they both drove off as Emma indicated her her house location

Upon arriving there, Emma’s father could be seen standing outside the house with a furious look on his face

Emma was the first to get down the car and heart skipped out of fear when she saw her father’s furious look

“Useless girl!! You wanted me to starve to déad huh? Where-” He immediately stopped talking when Daphne got down the car

His jaw dropped to the floor. “M-Miss Daphne” He muttered and his face diluted to the most humble look ever

Daphne forced a smile as she looked at him. “Good evening sir” She said then faced Emma.

“You can go in, I’ll like to have few words with your father” Daphne said and Emma nodded with a smile

“Goodnight ma’am” Emma said

“Goodnight” Daphne replied and Emma smiled once more before walking in

Daphne’s smile immediately fell when she faced Emma’s father.

“What brings you to my humble home miss” He spoke and Daphne hissed.

“Household abuse, child abuse is equal to more than 10 years imprisonment do you know that?” Daphne said and his heart jumped in fear.

“H-Huh?”

Daphne took a step closer, glaring at him.

“I’ll be visiting this place often from now on and if I see a single scratch on her and her sister I’ll have you arrested” Daphne said. “Do I make myself clear?” She raised a brow.

Emma’s father looked shocked, how did she knew all that?

“Yes miss” He immediately said

Daphne smiled. “Merry Christmas in advance” She said before walking away.

Daphne entered her car and smiled to herself. Her joy knew no bound at the moment.

Daphne picked her phone and went to her mother’s number. “Time to celebrate Christmas with my family” She muttered and dialed the number

“She’s the key to going back to where you were. For you to go back, you need to stop your past self from firing her” Lily said.

“What!!!!” Daphne still found all she was hearing so strange to her.

How was she back to yesterday? Time travels only exist in fake TV shows so she was dreaming right?

Lilly checked a golden leaf that was wrapped around her arms. “You have to go meet your past self and stop her making Emma lose her job,” Lilly said in such a hurry.

Daphne crossed her arms under her breast with a smirk.

“And what if I don’t do it? Who cares if Emma dies after losing her job? Not like the whole world would notice, she’s a nobody” she muttered.

Lily sighed. “How do I explain to you that the whole world will suffer? The spirit of Christmas will be condemned and it will be turned into a cursed season. The first person to go out of existence would be your family, they would die during ice fishing”

“Hey little Tinkerbell! Keep my family off your mouth!!” Daphne was starting to get angry. She didn’t like spending time with her family, which doesn’t mean she wanted them dead.

“I wish I could but it’s been written, see for yourself” Lilly drew circles with her fingers and another portal was open.

“Watch carefully and see how tomorrow would look like if Emma dies,” Lilly said and Daphne paid attention to the portal.

“For Christmas has taken my sister away, I curse that Christmas shall be everybody’s nightmare. The world will fall apart for taking my sister from me!!” Nina knelt before her sister’s grave and cried.

Daphne laughed after watching that part.

“So what? I’m supposed to be afraid because a six-year-old is cursing Christmas. I did not sign up for this” Daphne rolled her eyes and tried leaving when Lily changed the scene.

“This is tomorrow, a natural disaster occurs and it is going to affect everybody”.

Daphne turned back to the portal. A tornado was happening, it was seriously pushing cars and houses apart. Then the scene was taken to her family inside the boat as they were in the middle of ice fishing. The wind was affecting the water and causing it to float.

“Dad move the boat out of there!!!” Daphne shouted in fright but she knew it was a waste of time.

The boat kept shaking, and her family was in fright, especially JoJo. The boat suddenly tumbled and fell, her mother was drowning and her father was swimming to save her but the wind kept pushing them apart.

“Mom!! Dad!! JoJo!!” Daphne shouted, tears almost fell from her eyes.

A shark was suddenly swimming towards JoJo and Daphne widened her eyes.

“JoJo look out!!” She yelled but it seemed too late. Lilly took off the scene immediately while Daphne had tears in her eyes.

“Many other things happened too, Daphne, but I can’t tell you. If you don’t go back and fix this mess before yesterday ends again then everyone is done for and it’s going to be all your fault” Lilly said.

“But what do I do? I feel like I’m translucent. Everyone doesn’t give a shit about me here, kids almost threw snowballs at me so how do I fix it?” Daphne looked confused.

“Believe in yourself Daphne. You have full control to change things before it’s too late. You can save everyone, save your family, save Emma, and save Christmas” Lilly said with a smile.

“Wait I don’t understand what am I? The future? The past? The present?” Daphne looked confused.

“You are the pre present, you were supposed to be tomorrow Daphne but I quickly pulled you out and I’m giving you a chance to change everything before you ruin everyone’s life” Lilly answered.

Daphne was quiet for a while still confused and not understanding what was going on. How was she supposed to be tomorrow Daphne? Is that even a thing?

“Make your decision now, yesterday is almost over! If you’re not able to stop yourself from making Emma lose her job then it will be all over!” Lilly flew around Daphne’s face as she spoke.

“Fine I’d do it, I’ll go back to yesterday and stop myself from slapping Emma and making her lose her stupid Job” Daphne muttered.

“That’s great, close your eyes,” Lilly said and Daphne closed her eyes.

Lilly brought out her wand, she hummed some things as she circled her wand around Daphne. Some sparkling dust began taking over till everything began blanching.

Somehow, Daphne found herself standing in a place with her eyes closed. She slowly opened them and a gasp escaped her lips.

“What am I doing back here?” She asked herself as she looked around only to see she was back to her house.

“Why am I back home? How am I supposed to save Christmas with little Tinkerbell sending me back home ?” She asked herself again before walking around.

There was a glass of milk with some French toast on the dining table. Daphne squinted her eyes. She ate this yesterday, didn’t she?

“Michelle!!” She shouted but no response.

“Michelle!!!” She called again but no one answered her which made her even more confused.

Michelle never missed her name twice. Daphne rolled her eyes and moved towards the dining, she picked up the glass of milk and sipped from it but spat it out instantly.

It had no taste, it was like there was no milk or sugar inside. It felt garish compared to drinking water.

“What the fuck!” She muttered and picked up the toast, a bite felt the same way the milk did.

“Okay, little Tinkerbell!! Is this a fake house!? ” She shouted and looked at the breakfast. It looked so untouched like she didn’t steal a bite just seconds ago.

Everything seems confusing.

‘I wonder what my room would look like’ she thought as she slowly made her way to her room but before she could even open the door, she began hearing some noises but hold on a sec… That voice sounds familiar.

“Mom for the last time I don’t care about Christmas and PS y’all look horrible in that matching sweater” Daphne rested her head on the door as she listened to that voice.

That sounds like her, doesn’t it? She immediately pushed the door open and was shocked by the sight before her.

Daphne was lying on the bed with her iPad and was on a video call with her family just like what happened yesterday.

“Oh my God! I’m back on Christmas Eve, I’m back to yesterday !!” Daphne put her hands on her face and gasped.

Turning around, Daphne was blessed in sight with a strange creature she was just seeing for the first time in her life.

“Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!”

Daphne immediately scurried up to her feet, running to the other side of the cave as she stared at the little creature with a stunned look on her face

The creature was small, it’s size could be compared with that of a spoon. It’s body was glowing a gold color with wings behind it’s back.

Could that be what she has in mind?

“A fairy?” Daphne murmured with confusion evident in her eyes

“My name is Lily” The fairy smiled flying closer to Daphne

“Don’t!!” Daphne screamed immediately. “Don’t come closer, stay away” Daphne completed.

Lily sighed and flew till she stopped before her. Daphne stared at it with a shocked look on her face

Is she dreaming? This better be a dream! Daphne stared at Lily who was looking at her.

Curiosity picked on Daphne and she brought her hand closer to touch the little fairy.

“It’s real” Daphne’s eyes widened as she rubbed Lily’s hair with her index finger.

“Ouch!” Daphne whimpered when Lily bit her finger.

“I’m not here for that, follow me” Lily said and flew out of the cave

Daphne followed her, looking around as she wondered how on earth she got there

Her eyes wandered around and her face twisted in disgust at all the Christmas decorations she saw around.

They got out of the cave to see the mistletoe, shading the cave with it’s broad branches. As expected it was decorated too, with light decorations glowing brightly.

Daphne frowned when she spotted an elderly man clearly off the thick layer of smoke that blocked the road leading to his house

“Why does he look familiar?” Daphne muttered

Her eyes widened when she remembered passing this road and this man was blocking the road when her driver drove her to work

Her eyes darted around and the shock kept building. Everything is happening the same way she saw it yesterday.

“What’s happening!!” Daphne exclaimed.

“It’s because we went back to the past, Christmas eve” Lily spoke behind her

Almost immediately, she saw her car come to a halt just like it happened and the driver came out. Few minutes later, another person stepped out.

A gasp escaped Daphne’s lips “That’s me!!” She exclaimed and Lily nodded.

“It is you but-”

Before Lily could finish speaking Daphne began walking to herself. Before she could get there, kids who were throwing snowballs at each threw one at her way but she quickly dodged it.

“Hey! Are you dumb!” Daphne spatted but none looked her way, they just continued playing like she didn’t exist.

“I’m talking to you!!” Daphne yelled yet no reaction from the kids.

She began marching towards them in anger.

“Mommy!” The kids exclaimed and began running towards her, confusing her even more

She made to speak but went speechless when the kids walked through her

“What…” She looked at her body and then at the kids who were now hugging their mother.

“You can see them but they can’t see you, same as your past self” Lily flew and stopped at her side.

“What the f**k!! What is all this? Who did this? Stop it!!” Daphne screamed angrily, already losing it

“I can’t.. Only you have the power to stop it” Lily said.

“What…”

Lily drew a circle with her hand and before them a circular portal appeared. Daphne staggered back in shock

“Come” Lily said and flew to the direction of the portal, crossing it.

Daphne stood on her spot starring at the glowing portal. She slowly took one step forward then the other and she closed her eyes before walking in

The area was suddenly filled with cries, coming from two people. She slowly opened her eyes to see she was in a house.

The house looked really local and too small. She was sure the house could fit into her room perfectly and they’ll still be space left.

“What’s this place?” Daphne frowned looking around with a scrutinizing look on her face

The cries became more pertinent that she began looking for where it was coming from, till she got into a room that looks like the living room

A huge man with white beard could be see grabbing a lady by the hair. Before Daphne could process what happening;

SLAP!!

The man landed another slap on the lady and she fell down

“Emma!” A little girl cried loudly, rushing to her big sister’s side.

“What’s the meaning of this!” The man pointed at the Christmas tree that was damaged, obviously by him

“I already told you that so long as I’m the man of this Christmas is forbidden!!” The man roared angrily

“Dad, please… Nina has never known what it feels like to celebrate Christmas, please just this once” Emma begged and the man snickered.

Nina cried even more as she hugged Emma.

“Now go out there and be useful for once! Bring us money to the table” The man yelled.

“And you!” The man grabbed Nina’s arm. “Go read your book and become someone useful, not like your mother and sister!” The man dragged Nina

“Emma! Big sis!” Nina tried breaking free but the man pushed Nina inside her room and locked the door, pocketing the keys

He gave Emma another look before leaving the house, slammed the door loudly.

Emma lowered her head as tears fell down from her eyes. She cleaned her eyes and walked to the room Nina was locked in

“Nina..” She called but all she heard were the cries of the little girl.

“Do as dad said okay? Read your books, I’m off to work now.. I promise I’ll come back with treats” Emma said before leaving the house

Daphne blinked her eyes, looking shocked. “What just happened?” She uttered

“That’s Emma, later in the night you’re going to make her lose her job” Lily said and Daphne’s eyes widened.

It’s true, that’s the girl she made the bartender to fire.

“R.. Really?” Daphne asked, facing Lily who nodded.

“Do you want me to tell you what happens after she lost her job?” Lily asked and Daphne nodded curiously

“After she lost the job she’ll head home but on her way home, due to over thinking of what will become of her and her sister now that she’s jobless she will get into an accident that will cost her life” Lily said

“What!” Daphne exclaimed and Lily nodded.

“She’s the key to going back to where you were. For you to go back, you need to stop your past self from firing her” Lily said.
