Gwen I know we are still young and I know we aren’t done with school but I want to give you this promise ring. It’s a promise that no matter what happens, I will be with you, I will wait for you and I will spend my entire life with you” he said softly, his eyes at the moment showed how serious he was.

Naomi was watching them with a smile, never in her life had she picture herself being happy to see someone with the Dominic guy she was once crazy about.

Her head suddenly moved and Dante crashed his lips on hers too, she wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed him back.

“What did I actually do?” She asked.

“You gave me false hope then went ahead to be with this!” He angrily pointed at Edward.

“No Jace, you gave me red light, if I lost interest in you and that was because you made me do it!!” She shouted back at him.

“Bullshît! It was because of him, he came into the picture and took you away from me!”

“Jace stop this madness!!” Xavier yelled.

As he was doing that, the boys rushed to hold Jace back.

“Let me go!” Jace wriggled out of Dante’s grip before rushing to Edward again. He picked the rope from the floor and wrapped it around Edward’s neck from behind.

“Jace stop!!” Lucky yelled and ran to him, she picked up the chair from the ground and wiped his back with.

Jace staggered backwards but smirked and grabbed her instead.

“Since you don’t want him to die then let us die, I’d die being crazy for you” he laughed and pulled her towards the cliff.

“Jace let me go, someone help!!” Lucky began crying.

“Jace please release her, I’ll do anything you want” Edward pleaded.

“If you love her then jump down the cliff yourself!” Jace said.

“Don’t do it” Lucky cried and shook her head but Edward ignored her.

“So if I jump down, you will let Lucky go?” He asked and Jace nodded.

“No don’t do that! Jace what the hell is wrong with you!!” Lucky yelled at Jace.

“Edward!” Dominic held him back but he forced himself off Dominic’s grip and began going to the cliff.

“Edward! Let me go!!” Lucky bit hard on Jace’s arm and he released her then she pushed him off before running to Edward.

Unknown to her, Jace was about falling off the cliff.

“Look Jace!!” Naomi pointed at him as she screamed.

Jace’s eyes were widened, his hands were swinging around the air, looking for where to balance. Everything felt like slow mo and death was flashing before his very eyes.

Suddenly he felt himself not moving again and he looked up to see Edward holding his hands.

“I’ve got you” Edward said to him.

Lucky immediately went to hug Edward from behind.

“Come on, let’s pull him out together!!” She shouted and everyone came to hug themselves from behind.

“In 3…2…1.. go!!” Edward yelled and they began pulling Jace backwards.

They struggled hard, Edward felt his hands being injured but kept trying till they successful pulled him up.

Lucky crawled over to Edward and hugged him tight immediately while the others rushed to Jace.

“Are you okay?” Xavier said softly.

Jace just stared at Edward but couldn’t say anything. A tear drop fell from his eyes, probably him coming back to his senses.

“Why did you save me?” He asked slowly.

“Because we are friends, Jace I will never hate you because of a girl, wasn’t that the deal?” Edward replied and Lucky took Edward’s hands.

“Yes I don’t love you but that doesn’t mean I hate you and to see you dead. I like you but not romantically anymore, why was that so hard to understand!!” Lucky said angrily.

“And all these stunt you pulled bro, is it necessary?” Dante added.

Jace burst out in tears.

“I’m so sorry, I don’t know what got into me” he began crying out of shame.

He was really sure that he would have pushed Edward down the cliff or even Lucky and despite all these, they were supposed to let him die but they all helped him immediately.

It showed how much of a real friends they were but he almost threw all of it. Screw him!

“Hey, everyone makes mistake and the most important thing is realizing your mistake. I once embarrassed my best friend in front of the whole school all for a boy who turned out to be my twin brother” Naomi moved closer to him but but didn’t stop crying.

Nothing much happened, it’s just that Bruno was arrested for six months for trying to ambush Dante and the basketball league was today.

Inside the big van, Naomi Dante and the other teams were there including Gwen and the girls who were dresses up as cheerleaders to cheer them up.

The van stopped at the Annual league signboard.

“I heard it’s going be on the national television” Erica said as she came down with the others.

They began cheering again, Dante just scored one and the scream increased.

“You’re doing well baby!!!” Naomi shouted and that’s how the game kept going.

The finger result was 5-4, the 5 points were for Phoenix warriors and the 4 points were for the A-T-E.

“Wooooooooo!!!” Naomi, her friends and the basketball teams shouted with joy.

They even rushed to the stage to hug them.

“I can’t believe it! We made it” Dante lifted Naomi up and twirled her around. He dropped her down and cupped her cheeks before giving her a deep kiss.

The teammates looked surprised.

“Of course we are a thing” Naomi said to them and they jubilated even more.

After a while, the host announced the Phoenix warriors to come get their trophies and finally Dante gets to experience his dream, to finally stand among millions of people while holding the trophy that rightful belongs to him.

A lot has happened this past month but if there’s one thing then everyone is living their life the way they see it.

In the basketball field, the teams just finished playing before Naomi called them over.

A friend then introduced me to the loan sharks, I would borrow and pay back but I couldn’t pay back and they were going to kill us” Doreen was crying as he spoke.

“So I made a deal with the leader behind your mom’s back that he can have one of our twins. The day your mom gave birth to you and your twin brother, they attacked her and snatched your brother from her which lead her to that truma” he explained in tears.

Naomi was also crying too as she stood up.

“How could you, dad!!” She yelled at him.

“I’m sorry” he cried silently.

“Mom was never the bad person! It was you!!” She cried even more.

“So where’s my brother now and who has him?” She asked in tears.

“Actually you’ve been schooling with him all along. The formal president, Jameson was the one who kidnapped him” Doreen replied and Naomi fell on her chair, feeling surprised.

They were actually in the dining room.

Judith was secretly glaring at president Jameson.

Octavia stylishly stepped on her legs and she forced a smile.

“I haven’t seen your son, where is he?” Senator George asked.

“I’m here” a voice sounded from behind and they all turned back to see Dominic standing by the door.

President Jameson smiled.

“That’s Dominic, my son” he said and Dominic moved forward.

He looked at everyone on the table then his eyes landed on the girl of his age sitting beside a man he recognized as the senator.

He slowly clenched his fist but didn’t say anything. Hope it’s not what he’s thinking.

“Dad, who are these people?” He asked angrily.

“You can see two elders in front of you so have a seat and greet them,” president Jameson replied, stylishly giving him some side eye.

“I believed I asked a fûcking question!” He replied.

“Dominic watch your words” Judith cautioned him.

Livy rolled her eyes and took a glass of water.

“Can you just sit and listen to what your father and I have to say?” Judith said calmly.

“No, I’m not sitting until I know what these people are doing here!” Dominic replied.

Livy banged her fist on the table when she’s had enough and all eyes went to him.

“Why don’t you guys just tell him that you want the both of us to get married” she shouted and Dominic’s eyes went to his dad.

“Getting married? Really dad?” He said disappointedly.

President Jameson looked at Judith.

“And mom you’re with him, I thought you were on my side here” Dominic added, staring at his mom.

“Baby..” Judith stood up but he moved back and shook his head.

“I’m glad we are all here, let me make it clear in front of everyone. I’m not marrying anyone, I have a girlfriend which I love very much and she’s the only one I’m planning to marry in the future” he said out loud.

There was silence in the whole room before president Jameson finally burst out in laughter.

“Plan.. planning to marry? You’re not talking about that church rat are you?” President Jameson coughed as he laughed.

“I’ll say it again dad, my girlfriend’s name is Gwyneth Lee, if it’s not her then it’s no one,I’m not marrying this girl!” He replied and Livy gasped then huffed.

“I mean duh! I don’t want to marry you either, I have a boyfriend too” She rolled her eyes and looked elsewhere.

“I’m glad we are on this page and if everyone will excuse me I’ll take my leave” Dominic turned around and began leaving.

President Jameson angrily stood up, he dipped his hands in his pocket and brought out a gun.

“One more step!” He threatened as he pointed his gun at Dominic.

“When did he leave?” She asked and no reply from Jace again.

“I’m asking you!” She yelled.

“I don’t know, I just woke up this morning and the letter welcomed me,” Jace replied.

Lucky brought out her phone and dialed Edward’s number but it kept saying it’s reachable.

“Edward don’t do this to me, please pick my calls” she cried and tried again, still not reachable.

She went straight to voicemail.

“Edward sweetheart if you see this message please call me. Don’t mind the harsh things mom said to you yesterday, she’s just angry that things weren’t the way she expected. I love you Edward, I don’t know how many times I want to tell you that, I don’t care what others think of us. If they like, they can make fun of me from now till the next morning. It doesn’t mean, I love you and nothing can change that, please call me when you get this, don’t leave me alone I beg of you” she said while crying at the same time.

After she sent it, she squatted on the floor and burst out in tears.

“Hey” Jace moved closer to her, he touched her shoulders but she slapped his hands off.

“And what do you think you’re doing? In case you don’t know, I still remember how you tried to force yourself on me in the lady’s room so I haven’t forgiven you yet. I know you’re jealous of Edward because I chose the guy with the chubby face and stomach inside of the good looking and perfect one and guess what? I will choose Edward over and over because you can never be compared to him and if you know what’s good for you, you fuck off and don’t touch me!!” She yelled at him like a mad person.

Jace slowly moved back.

She took her phone and tried calling his number again but it didn’t go.

“Edward, where did you run off too? Please come back!” She cried loudly then stood up and found her way out of the hostel.

Jace went in and slammed the door, he sat on his bed and looked around.

Dominic is not here and Xavier too, he left after Edward fell asleep.

“But I didn’t do anything wrong right? She was mine first and we liked each other but Edward stole her from me, I just had to take what was rightfully mine” he said to himself.

Lucky’s words came back to him and he shook his head.

“I can never be compared to him? Give me a month’s time and I’ll make sure things go back to the way it was before when you used to like me and not him!” He muttered while clenching his fist tight.

A car stopped in front of the school compound and Dante came out, the other side of the door opened and Naomi came down too.

“We are late for basketball practice come on” he held her hand and began pulling her with him.

Naomi smiled as she stared at his hands on hers, when they finally got to the field, Dante let her go.

“There you two are, practice started an hour ago, what’s up coach and team player?” Tom asked as he was bouncing the ball with one hand.

“My car spoiled on my way back and I kinda bumped into the coach so we fixed it and came together” Dante replied then secretly winked at Naomi who shook her head.

“Whatever” Tom muttered and walked away.

Naomi moved forward.

“Thank you guys for making me your new coach, I promise I’ll make sure this team will be one of the best, I see all of you here have potential and I know a lot about basketball, my dad made me a huge fan. I’ll be hiring some cheerleaders and I’ll be rearranging our diets and gym time table and sleeping time table, I’ll make sure we get the next trophy for the school” Naomi said and stretched one of her hands out.

“Team Phoenix warriors!!” She shouted.

The teammates including Dante gave her a confused look.

“It’s our team name, keep up!” Naomi rolled her eyes and they joined her.

“In 3 2 1…” Naomi trailed off.

“Team Phoenix warriors!!” All of them shouted and threw their hands up in the air.

They began clapping happily, Dante looked at Naomi with a proud smile, she smiled at him too and winked at her.
