It was Tate who went to get Sybil from the airport.
Emory waited at home with Mr. Carson, and she kept trying Rain’s line but she hasn’t been picking.
She only sent a text to say she’s ok, but Emory is still worried.
She didn’t show up at school either.
“Is that your friend from the morning you’re calling?” Mr. Carson asked when he noticed her restlessness.
“Yeah” she replied.
“Oddly, she looks familiar. I just dunno where” Mr. Carson said.
Emory was about to reply when Tate’s car drove in, and she spranged up.
Three minutes later, Tate came in with another girl who’s dragging her bag behind.
“Sybil!” Emory gushed.
“Emmy!!!” Sybil shouted, flying into Emory’s open arms.
“I missed you!”
“I missed you more!”
“More!!!” Sybil shouted, and the couple just smiled as they watched.
Sybil is Emory’s cousin from her mother’s side, and the fact that they’re same age made them close.
She left the country last year for a reason.
“Gawd … You became prettier! Do you now have a boyfriend?” Sybil asked in a rush.
“Nuh-uh” Emory laughed.
“Come here!” Sybil pulled her, saying quick greetings to Mr. Carson before going to her room with her.
The couple exchanged looks, and Tate sighed.
“It’s good to see her gradually cheering up, she smokes less these days too, and with Sybil here, I hope she heals completely” she said.
“She will” Mr. Carson pulled her into a hug.
“But are you sure we…
“If you’re gonna talk about telling her the truth again, then don’t say it. We’re not telling her, it’d shake her” Mr. Carson cut her off.
Tate sighed, hugging him back.

Rebekah threw both hands up when she came out of her white Lambo truck, looking so excited and impatient to rock the party.
Fireworks were already cracking in the sky above the rave, and the grooving smell of nicotine, alcohol and sweat filled the air.
The music was already playing loudly from the DJ’s table, and Coldplay is currently on the beat.
Lizzy is still recovering from what happened in school earlier, so she won’t be coming, and Nina’s foster parents didn’t give her space to come too, so she’ll be alone till Emory’s arrival.
She scanned her QR code by the door before going in, and she got drowned in the night immediately.
The energy of the students is insane, and she could feel the heat as she grabbed a cup of champagne from a server.
“Hey, baby sis” Conrad’s voice interrupted her when she made to drink.
“Stop calling me that” she replied, finally drinking.
“Tomorrow morning during breakfast, we’ll announce our relationship to our damn parents” he said, making her choke on her drink.
She began coughing, holding her chest.
“Don’t die on me” he said.
“Are you crazy? Relationship?” She looked up with big eyes.
“Look we don’t like each other, and I’m never gonna date you even if you beg me, so just cooperate. It’s the only way to stop this if you really want to. Let’s fake-date” he ruffled her hair again.
“Hey!” Rain and Isaac joined them, and Conrad left.
“Hey” Rebekah smiled.
“I’ll get you a drink” Isaac said.
“Sure” Rain replied, and Isaac left them.

“What were you talking about with Conrad? It’s the first time I saw you both talking” Rain asked Rebekah.
“Nothing much” Rebekah replied.
“And where are the girls?” Rain asked again.
“Nina and Lizzy won’t be coming. Emz will soon be here” Rebekah replied.
“Cool, and am I the only one who noticed North absence since yesterday?” Rain said.
“Now that you said it…” Rebekah replied, coming to realization.
Before she could sink deeper into it, Emory appeared with Sybil.
“Aww! She’s beautiful!” Rebekah gushed.
“My name is Sybil, Emory’s cousin” Sybil said cheerfully.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Rain ” Rain replied.
“I’m Rebekah, you’ll meet Nina and Lizzy soon” Rebekah added.
“Sorry I couldn’t pick your calls in the morning, I was busy. I’m sure you got my text” Rain said.
“Yeah, it’s fine now that I confirmed it” Emory nodded.
“Damn! Who’s that? I think I just fell in love at first sight!” Sybil gasped, looking at a direction.
They traced her gaze to see Levi, standing alone at the far end, but his eyes are on their angle.
Emory bit her mouth wall.
Since she left the Loft cos of rain since morning, they haven’t really talked.
It’s as if he’s mad at her or something.
“I think he’s looking at me! He’s looking here!” Sybil shouted again.
“Delulu” Rebekah shook her head, and Rain chuckled awkwardly.
“He’s so fuçking hot, I want him now” Sybil said.
“He’s not someone you can have” Rebekah replied.
“Bullshit, he’s looking at me!” Sybil insisted.
“Come here, dance away your delusions” Rebekah pulled her to the dance floor, leaving Emory with Rain.
Rain was about to start a conversation when Emory’s got her phone and texted Levi.
Emory: Why are you looking at me that way?
He replied instantly.
Criminal: Get away from Rain.
She looked up to see Rain right beside herself, looking at her, then she typed…
Emory: I already told you to stop talking like you own me. Rain is not even a guy.
Criminal: Step the fûck away from her, or I’ll do something.
Emory looked up, and their eyes met.
He looks so pissed already, so she decided not to reply.
She turned off her phone, and Rebekah appeared back with Sybil who’s already sweating.
“Sybil, I think you should give up on Banks already. Emz has something with him I think” Rain suddenly dropped the bomb, and Sybil blinked.
“Really? Emmy?”
Emory tightened her hand on her phone, then she saw Levi coming their way already, probably to do what he threatened to do to Rain.
“There’s nothing between Levi and I” she said, and at the same time, the music went off, so her voice echoed around.
Everyone heard it loud and clear, and she swallowed cos Levi heard it too, but he didn’t stop walking.
He changed his lane though.
Instead of Rain, he came to her, his eyes darkening, the kind that terrifies her.
“The hallway kiss? The garage? The tub? They’re jokes to you?” He said slowly, too slow and it’s scary as his expression frosted.
Students gasped out instantly.
Emory looked around, meeting several curious eyes and expectant faces before looking back at Levi.
“Yeah… they’re just kisses, and I forgot them the moment they ended. Not special” she muttered, folding her fists.
Levi turned around and walked straight out of the rave like air without looking back.
Chadwick was just coming in, and he stopped in wonder when he saw the quietness of the students.
Rebekah couldn’t talk, but Sybil’s eyes are on Levi’s backside as he stepped out the door.
Rain has a secret smile on, and Emory turned around, rushing to the nearest washroom.
The song resumed playing as if nothing happened, and Rain winked at the DJ.
Omar and his spawns came in this time… Romeo and Juliet with over ten Titans.
“Have fun” he told them, and they joined the crowd.
He started searching for Levi with his eyes, but then he received a text.
His eyes almost fell from their sockets when he saw it, and he ran madly out of the rave.
He drove out madly too, the text he received ringing in his head…

“No…” he was muttering repeatedly on the wheel.
He literally flew on the road till he arrived back at his street, and he zoomed like a madman into the forest, screeching to an halt on the spot.
He almost fainted when he came out of the car and saw someone dug out the body already, it’s really gone!
“No no…no!!!” He knelt, almost jumping into the pit.

He suddenly saw Vans prints on the soil, and his eyes widened.
The same person who locked Emory in the freezer did this?
In the middle of the dug up soil, his hand found something, and he pulled it out.
It’s an inhaler.
He’s shaking sickly as he held it, staring with unblinking wide eyes.

His phone buzzed again, and water fell from his nose as he got it to see another text from the person.
