Jewel had a fever the next morning and was vomiting. With the little money I had left, I took her to the hospital, where she was admitted and placed on a drip.
The doctor performed some tests on her, and after a few hours, he summoned me to his office for a conversation.

I entered his office, and he offered me a seat.

It is been three days and I still can not come up with the money. Jewel was discharged because I did not have enough money to continue her treatment after spending all of Victoria’s money and my savings on her medications.

I was crying on the mat next to Jewel, who was asleep.

I was finished with the hawking and returned from the market to pick up Jewel from Mama Ojo while counting the money I had made.
