BRYAN’S APARTMENT**
( Next morning )

It’s a Sunday and Bryan only wanted a peaceful shower but the loud knock on his door kept interrupting him. He sighed and tied a white towel on his waist before going to get the door.

Aime was the one knocking but the moment she saw him, she covered her face with her palm.

“Are you crazy? How can you answer the door while naked! Didn’t you learned decency from the books you’ve read!?” She scolded him.

Bryan looked around to check if there was someone else with him as he refused to believe it was him she was talking to.

“Wait, firstly someone shows up to my place so early on a Sunday morning uninvited then starts scolding me” He raised one of his thick brows as he stared confusedly at her.

“Bryan can you just put on something so I can come in?” Aime pleaded, still covering her face.

Bryan rolled his eyes and closed the door, he put on a quick shirt and joggers before attending to her again.

“Are you happy now?” He smirked when she took her hands from her face.

“Well I was happy before!” She scoffed as she made her way in.

Bryan helplessly shook his head and shut the door behind him then wrapped his muscular arms around his chest. “Care to tell me why you’re here?” He asked and she turned to face him.

“To plead with you to lecture me” She replied which earned a short laugh from Bryan.

“To plead with me? You don’t sound like you’re pleading thou, I mean you came to my place, knocked so loud disturbed my shower and scolded me, so?” Bryan tried reasoning with her.

“Can you just help me please?” Aime frowned at him.

“Yeah?” Bryan moved closer to her, he stopped just few centimeters away from her but his hands are in his pocket this time. “What’s in for me if I help you, hmm?” He asked, studying her facial expression.

“Well I’m not sleeping with you” Aime scoffed.

Bryan’s eyes widened as a stared speechlessly at her for some seconds before bursting out in laughter, Aime looked a little confused on what he finds funny.

Bryan stopped laughing and his eyes darkened as he stared at her. “You think I want to f*ck you?” He had an unbelievable eyes.

“Isn’t that what men always want, sleep with women to have their way” Aime said, obviously.

Bryan chuckled again but his expression suddenly turned serious which startled Aime.

“Hey… Why are you looking at me like that?” She asked but instead of getting a reply, he began taking close steps towards her and she couldn’t help herself from moving backwards.

“Hey!” She pointed a finger at him. “Stop moving close I’m warning you, stop being weird” She blinked her eyes fondly which was something Bryan noticed about her when she feels threatened but he only kept a serious face as he kept moving closer to her.

Aime moved backwards till her butt meet a table somewhere in the kitchen but that didn’t stop Bryan from moving, she had no choice but to sit.

He used his strong arms to cage her from escaping.

“Stop being weird Bryan! What are you doing? I told you I won’t sleep with you!” She yelled again.

Bryan leaned more closer to her and she bent her head back, seeing she couldn’t move she blocked her lips with her palms.

He took her hand from her lips and pinned it with his. “Give me a reason why I would want to f*ck you Aime?”

Aime blinked again. “Because I’m pretty” She answered confidently and Bryan only smiled at her delusions.

He leaned closer again, Aime thought his lips was coming for hers so she shut her eyes tight but instead she felt something wet on her ears that made her body shivered a little.

“Listen to me Aime” He whispered on her ears, fanning hot breath on her skin which made her felt weird things but what was more weird was the way her name sounded on his lips.

She wants to hear it again but if course would never ask him.

“I would never want to f*ck you even if I were going to die of blue balls and you’re the only woman around then I would pick death” He moved away from her ears so he could stare into her eyes deeply. “Everytime” He completed before releasing his grip on her hands.

Aime stared at him for some while, she didn’t know what to feel about what he just said to her but she cleared her throat and pushed him away.

“Then I’m glad we are on the same page because even if you are the last man on earth and I’m giving an opportunity to marry you or die then I’d pick death” She said before moving closer to him. “Everytime!” She added.

Bryan smirked. “Very well then”

“And what am I even doing here? You’re not the only smart person in GGC damn you!” She scoffed and turned to leave.

“Tomorrow afternoon 4pm” Bryan said behind her.

“Huh?” She turned back to look at him.

“For the lecturers, tell professor I’m accepting his offer for the extra marks” He winked and clicked his tongue at her.

Aime scoffed at him again. “What a jerk!” She muttered as she left the house.

Bryan only shook his head with a smile.

“You’ve got to be kidding me mom” Jake stepped out of the school hostel while on a call. He suddenly bumped into Julia, she looked equally as surprised as him, like she didn’t expect to see him outside.

“I’ll talk to you when I get home mom” He ended the call.

“You’re going home to see your mother today?” Julia slowly asked and Jake sucked in a hard breath before nodding.

His face was suddenly back to his usual cold self, like he doesn’t want anything to do with her, like the kiss meant nothing, the reason for her sleepless night meant nothing.

“Oh… I…”

“Listen Julia” Jake interrupted her. “How about we talk about what happened yesterday” He said.

Julia blinked and nodded, her heart beating fast as she already know what he was going to say.

“It was a mistake, I forgot about it the moment I left last night can you do me a favor and forget too” He told her and without waiting for her reply, he wanted to leave but Julia held his hands, stopping him.

“And if I tell you I don’t want to forget about it?” She asked.

Jake shut his eyes tight before turning to face her. “Can you please don’t make this hard for us, you know I can’t be with you right? You dated Kelvin” He reminded.

“Is that it?” Julia asked with her teeth gritted, her eyes getting misty with tears.

“I just don’t like you Julia, the kiss meant nothing to me so forget about it” Jake repeated but with a cold voice this time before taking her hands off him and leaving.

Julia clenched her fist tight and bit her lips hard.

“How’s the bet going? Is he giving you a hard time?” Amanda appeared from no where with her usual pathetic smile.

Julia breathed out before facing her.

“Mind your damn business okay!” She spat before storming out.

MARTHA’S APARTMENT, EVENING**

Jake tiredly rubbed his temples as he listened to what Martha was telling him.

“I swear he’s the one for real this time” She told him.

“But you promised me mom, you said you’d stay single for a while so why are you doing this again, this again mom” Jake was frustrated.

“I promise you Jake, we’ve been talking before we moved to New York and I’ve seen him a few times, he’s the one and you’d really like him” Martha convinced Jake as she arranged his tie and suit jacket.

“And I really want to settle down with him for life, he knows I have a kid, he even has a daughter which means you’d finally have a sibling” Martha said happily.

Jake rolled his eyes before looking at his mom again. She looked happier than she had ever looked each time she announces a new relationship so maybe this one might be real.

“Promise me you’d stay happy mom and if this doesn’t work out, we are not leaving cause I’m not going anywhere” Jake said.

Martha smiled. “I promise”

Jake and Martha arrived at a big mansion. Jake could already smell the riches from the outer view of the place.

“Let’s go in” Martha held Jake’s hands and led him inside. They took the elevator which give them a lift to the main room.

“Zayn” Martha beamed when she got in, she threw herself on the arms of a middle aged man dressed in an expensive dinner suit.

Jake admired the mansion. It was really big and spacious with expensive furnitures and painting…

“Meet my son, Jake come over” Martha signaled for Jake to come greet Zayn and Jake moved forward to give his mother’s new boyfriend a handshake.

“Jake, your mother has always told me about you. You can call me Zayn, I really like your mother and I hope I get your blessings” Zayn gave Jake a warm smile.

Jake didn’t know how to feel about this but who was he to stop his mother’s relationship. He only respond by forcing a smile.

“Dad” That voice…. Jake knew that voice but he don’t want to believe it.

“Dad what’s going on?” The female voice asked.

Did she just called him dad?

Julia you’re here!” Zayn beamed in excitement. “Martha, Jake, meet my daughter Julia and Julia meet my girlfriend Martha and her son Jake” He introduced them.

“Jake?” Julia gasped.
