The 16th episode of the 49th season of “Saturday Night Live” will air on April 6, and a familiar face is set to host.
“SNL” alumΒ Kristen WiigΒ will serve as the host for Saturday’s episode,Β according to NBC. The actress and comedian was a cast member on the show from 2005 to 2012.
This will be Wiig’s fifth time hosting the show, meaning her monologue could highlight her induction into the “SNL” Five-Timers Club, which features the likes of Tina Fey, Steve Martin and Tom Hanks, among others.
Comedian and actorΒ Ramy YoussefΒ was the host for the March 30 episode and actor Josh Brolin was the host on March 9, before the show went on a three-week break.

Wiig’s hosting gig comes asΒ Target is celebrating the launch of its revamped loyalty programsΒ with its first-ever Target Circle Week in April, and the return of one of Wiig’s most recognizable “SNL” characters β Target Lady.
Wiig’s Target Lady will appear in a national advertising campaign of 12 spots across TV and online platforms, including Target.com.
“Target Lady is incredibly special to me because itβs one of the characters I created at The Groundlings and ended up on ‘SNL.’ She definitely loves Target! I mean, who doesnβt?β Wiig said in a statement. βIt was so fun to bring her back after all this time, and we had so much fun imagining the world Target Lady sees inside the store today.β
