Halting the car in front of the mansion, Damian turn in his seat to take hold of June’s hand.

“Nervous?” Damian ask and she nod in response.

“Mom and Davina know that you are my wife now and they’ve both agreed to get along with you but if you still don’t feel comfortable, I will book us into an hotel since my apartment is being reconstructed” Damian told her.

“You don’t have to book an hotel. I just feel a bit embarrass after what took place last time, I keep wondering what your mom will think of me”

Luckily for her, the nurse who had help her get dress made her wear a camisole beneath the shirt and she notice that that made Damian a bit disappointed.

“Am going to take a shower” she said, trying to escape from him but he pulled her back into his arms.

Her back was slam hard against his chest and slowly, she felt his lips on her shoulder, he went further as to pull back her hair so he could kiss her neck.

“I don’t think I can be a nun for long” Damian whispered down her cheek while his hands caress her flat stomach, she felt it sliding into her jeans when a knock on the door ruin it all.

“I…I think you should answer that” June said, her voice thick with passion.

Reluctantly, Damian let her go and she went straight into the bathroom, bolting the door behind.

In the confine of the room, June could hear Martha talking to him and it had something to do with Mitchell who fainted earlier.

A knock sounded on her door and it was Damian, telling her that he has to go see Mitchell.

“Will you be fine on your own ?” He ask from the doorway.

“Tell me everything that has happen for the past three days” June requested and immediately, Teresa began spilling the whole thing.

” When they brought you in three days ago, they had to perform surgery and after surgery you had fallen into a deep sleep. Wayne is still being looked for by the police though I wish I get to find him first and kill him” Teresa said intensely.

“I feel the same” Nathan said.

“Don’t worry sweetie, you don’t have to be scared anymore. Damian has assured me that he will keep you safe and unharm” Ruth told her daughter.

“But you don’t get along with Damian, just that night you were telling me to stay away from him” June reminded, her face pale.

She pulled her hand out of his and stared at her ring before asking him.

“Apart from wanting to protect me and being attracted to me, what else do you feel for me? Nothing….you feel nothing and that’s why our marriage will never work cause we don’t love each other”

“Does a marriage have to be base on love?” Damian ask

With your face scarred, he wouldn’t want you anymore” he said, Kicking her multiple of times on the stomach.

He took hold of her hair, forcing her to stand only to push her back on the floor.

June was so hurt to do anything, she couldn’t even move when she saw him pulling out a pocket knife.

All her effort not to see him got ruined thanks to Ronald, he should have just let her leave and return later to get the document.

“What were you two doing?” Damian ask.

“I doze off a bit and he was helping me to clean off my drool and….”

“I don’t see any drool on you” he remark,holding her jaw to inspect it but she pulled away.

“You don’t have to believe my word and I don’t care, am leaving, sir” she said heading to the door but when they heard Mitchell calling Ronald from outside.

He pulled her into the little room made for Ronald to take a rest.

“There’s no one here, where is that knuckle head” Mitchell said and when she saw no one in, she left.

June stood with her back against the door while Damian tower over her, standing very close too.

The intrusion of the maid who came to announce the arrival of June’s mom and brother ended whatever conversation they had left.

“I was so worried when Mr Brooks told us everything. Are you okay?” Ruth Winter ask, fondling her daughter.

June felt more guilty after reading his message. He had forgiven her for her deceit but somehow she couldn’t forgive herself.

June got back home, deep in thought. She was tempted to send a reply to Damian but she couldn’t.

“When the cops took Marshall and Greg, you should have made sure I was taken too but you didn’t which is where you made your very first mistake” He said softly and before she could stop him, he put a handkerchief over her nose.

And although she struggled, she ended up falling asleep.

Some time later, June woke up to find herself in the back seat of a car.

Though she felt a bit dizzy, she manage to seat up and it was then she realise that her hands and legs were tied.

“Where are you taking me to?” June demanded using her tied hand to hit the back of Wayne’s seat.

“To meet someone” Wayne replied and park his car on the side of the street before turning his full attention on her.

“Since you failed in bringing Damian’s money to us. Have decided to sell you and good Lord, you do make a good sale” he said and saw the confusion on her face.

“What am trying to say is that someone has payed a hefty amount just to have you and we are going to see him and a little warning….I don’t think this man has any intention of letting you go, so start getting used to the fact that you now belong to him” He said, his laughter ringing out like the devil he is……

“Who wouldn’t? Everyone is obviously charmed by Damian Brooks and don’t act like you care. If you had cared about June, you wouldn’t have made up this plan with her as the main character” Greg admonish.

“Why can’t I? Why can’t I use her when I want to. For three f**king years that have known her, I have spent my money on her and it’s time she gives everything back to me” Wayne said harshly.

“By pretending to be captured by Marshall or by forcing her to pretend to be Damian wife just to get us to his fortune? Look, am not defending June, I just think that… You are being unfair to the girl, she loves you as much as you love her” Greg said and that made Marshall laugh.

“It might be love for June but it isn’t for Wayne. If he were still in love with her, he won’t be f**king my receptionist” Marshall said and on hearing that June’s heart sank.

“You mean he is….my God you are a rascal” Greg said laughingly.

“A guy is allowed to have some fun, isn’t he?” Wayne replied without remorse.

On hearing that, June quickly left the door heading back outside.

She stop to stare at the female receptionist who was back at her desk.

“Do you need any help?” The receptionist ask and in response, June did a f**k you with her finger, directing it at the slut before leaving the building.

Though it took a while, she got a taxi which took her back to the Brooks Mansion.

While taking the stairs, she hope that Damian hasn’t sign the form yet.

She was on the way to their room when she came across Davina.

“You are back. I thought you left for good” Davina said, glaring at her.

“Where’s your brother?” June ask, ignoring her jibe.

“Aren’t you suppose to know that, he is your brother after….”

“Where is your brother!” June yell desperately and that got Davina telling her where Damian is.

She went straight to his study and found him standing by the window, gazing at the night sky.

“Damian….”

“You knew I was going to be worried and yet, you left without saying a word. You’ve made it clear that I mean nothing to you and so I will give you the divorce you want and you might as well leave” Damian said moving towards his desk to pick up the form.

“No!” June scream as she snatch the form from him and tear it into shreds.

“What is wrong with you!” Damian demanded.

“It’s all a lie. Am not your wife and this form…is a contract that will give me access to all of your properties” June revealed…..
