These were my words to a lady who asked for advice sometime ago. We got talking about how she has been unable to keep a man,even though she’s is very beautiful.
I decided to get critical with her, and asked questions to know what usually made her relationships fail, and found out it always bothered on issues of getting entangled with so many others, while in a relationship.
“I love ahfkgksbdl so much, and I can’t believe he is going to break up with me just like the others. I don’t know how I will move on without him” she had told me, and I asked a simple question.
“Why did you get involved with the other guys if you loved him that much?”
And the answer she gave, is the reason I’m making this post, instead of waiting to post the story I’m building on it.
As a girl, a lady or even a woman, you must understand that some people come to life with some inbuilt charm and charisma. Some girls come with a natural attraction, and whether or not they are beautiful, men get drawn to them.
This may be fun and a happy thing for the said girl at some point, but when she lacks understanding and ability to help herself, this attraction that she has, becomes a major problem for her.
Almost every girl likes the thrills of getting chased in the early days of young adulthood, when heads turned at each point she walked pass and guys stumbled on each other to get to her.
Actually, this isn’t a bad thing, and is certainly not a problem even when it continues after the adolescent age, it only becomes a problem when it starts distracting you from keeping a stable relationship.
While I was growing up, I noticed that I always had to change routes because of “chikers” on several occasions, and it used to be fun, discussing about the “toasting” lines, as well as reading the love letters with my friends.
It was normal for me to go out to get something and have different guys waiting to have a word with me at different points.
What makes my case funny, is I have always been carefree about those fancy things that makes a girl girlish, and in fact, my first lip stick was bought by my mother, when I was already in the university, still I always had them running after me in their numbers.
One day, a more advanced friend called me to have a chat with me. In her words :
“Eve, I have watched you, and observed that you’re likely to have the problem I had, if something isn’t done. I do not want to tell you so much, but remember that with your nature, men will be never stop chasing you.
“If you do not take a firm stand, you may end up having issues with the one you’re meant to be with, because of the one passing by. Watch it my dear. They put me into the confusion I’m in now, and today, I am still unable to settle down because age is no longer on my side” she told me.
She must be the angel God sent to me because from that day, I began to make conscious effort to let a potential “toaster” end with pleasantries, with my reactions and body language.
Fast forward to this age where I have five children, with the first being old enough to give me a grandchild, and my status as a married woman, I still don’t go out a day, without seeing someone trying to make passes at me.
What am I driving at? We will talk about the guys later, but as a woman or a young girl, you’re not “hot” because you’re available to everyone that gets attracted to you.
You’re hot and priceless because you know how to draw the line. It’s an insĂ»lt on your personality that someone knows you’re married and he’s still telling you how much he loves you, and can’t keep you out of his head!
Ask yourself, if he’s chasing you as a married woman, is he planning to marry you, when he eventually takes you away from your mĂ rriage?
He is indirectly calling you a woman of low virtues if he keeps bothering you, when he knows you’re married!
My name is Eve, and I can beat my hand on my chest that I’ve never had a thing to do with another man, since I met my husband, without having chest pains; not because I haven’t been getting troubled by them bĂŁd guys, but because I know.my worth, and I keep my values!
If you’re that one that needs to hear this, please draw a line sister, understand that so many are attracted to you, but just one of them is the one for you. Don’t reduce your worth by making yourself available to Adam, Steve and Jack!
