“Skyler!!!” The door pushed open and Ivy was the first to rush in, before she could pounce on Skyler’s body, Mason caught her forearm and pulled her back.

“She’s not feeling well yet, you shouldn’t rush her like that” he said calmly.

Skyler only gave Mason a low smile before looking at Ivy.

“I’m fine, really,” she said softly.

Grandpa Mario and the others including Maya stepped in.

“Sky” he walked towards her and felt her forehead.

“Your temperature is normal but I made you some soup, you should try it, it smells nice” he began opening the flask while Emily rolled her eyes from behind.

Mason didn’t say anything, he was just watching quietly with his hands in his pocket and earlier both him and Skyler agreed not to tell the old man anything about losing the baby.

“Thank you Grandpa, it really does smell nice” Skyler smiled at him.

“So why was my sister in-law bleeding earlier?” Hudson was the first to ask.

“Yeah Skyler you were bleeding earlier what happened?” Edna agreed and all of them had curious eyes except from Maya who was faking to be worried.

The ward was back to quiet again, Mason knew Skyler wanted to say something with the way she was looking at him so he nodded.

“I feel so bad that we had to lie to Grandpa, he’s always wanted a grandchild and he’s friends with Agnes and Hailey’s family” she muttered.

Mason sighed and moved closer to her. He took her hands and kissed it.

“You shouldn’t worry about that, we can have another baby later and I know we are both busy especially you and about Hailey and Agnes, I will deal with them and make sure they wouldn’t bother us again, trust me I know how to” he gave her an assuring look.

Skyler trusted him so she nodded and he gave her a peck on the forehead.

Two days had passed and Skyler was discharged from the hospital, the family gave her a warm welcome back to the mansion.

The next day, she returned back to her teaching class, but she didn’t go there without an excuse.

“Skyler, welcome back, where did you run off too?” Cynthia rushed to hug Skyler the moment she came back.

Skyler only forced a smile at him before taking her seat. Lily was behind them, taking selfies with herself as usual, not bothering about anything.

Cynthia sat beside her while eating the cake. She suddenly brought out her phone and showed Skyler.

“Did you by chance hear of this?” She asked.

Skyler’s eyes widened but she immediately covered it up and shook her head. It was the picture of her and Mason at the party both putting on nose masks.

The headline was, Mr Delgado was spotted with his wife publicly for the first time and there were lots of pictures of them having millions of likes and views.

Skyler blinked repeatedly and cleared her throat. “I was so busy with my sister’s wedding two days ago that I didn’t hear of these, when did it happen?” As she asked, she tried not to sound suspicious.

Anyways Cynthia didn’t get any chance to suspect her as Miss Elizabeth entered the class.

“Students pause on whatever you’re doing,we have lots of notes to catch up on” she faced the teaching board the moment she entered.

Hailey smirked and moved closer to her. She stopped right in front of her and the two women were almost the same height except Hailey was taller.

“You’re just a cheap nobody that only wants his money, just look at you, even if you go out like this in public, no one would know you for who you are!” Hailey said with so much exasperation.

Skyler smirked and also raised her head to reach her level.

“But at least he got married to this cheap nobody and couldn’t even remember his so-called childhood friend, the one he promised to ‘marry’ ” Skyler raised one of her brows up knowing she has gotten to Hailey.

“You will regret this” Hailey muttered and out of the blue, she used her heavy purse to hit Skyler on the stomach.

Mason had a phone on his ears as he tried calling Skyler but she wasn’t picking. He turned to his side to see Skyler’s bag on her chair and his eyes widened a little.

She left without her phone?

Boss, you called for me” Alvin walked up to him.

“Alvin” Mason looked at him and although he was still putting on a nose mask, Alvin could see the look of worry in his eyes.

“What’s wrong boss?” Alvin asked.

“Have you seen Skyler, this place isn’t safe, we have to get everyone to leave this party somehow” he said in a hurry and it got Alvin even more scared.

This was the first time he was seeing Mason look this worried.

“What is happening boss?” Alvin asked for the second time.

Mason passed the letter to Alvin and Alvin went through it. His eyes also widened as he immediately interpreted the letter.

“Where is the bomb?” He asked with widened eyes.

Director James and some of the movie’s cast and crew were standing in front of a three layer cake for the party. They were ready to cut and take pictures but Ivy and Blake were nowhere to be found.

Hailey stepped out of the restroom with a smile on her face, she went to stand beside Agnes.

“I just locked Skyler in the restroom, have you seen Mason?” She whispered to her mom as she took a glass of wine.

“You locked Skyler so you could spend time with her husband? You really are my daughter” Agnes smiled and the both clicked glasses together and shared a devious mother and daughter laughter.

“There you two are, the director has been looking for you guys, they want to cut the cake” one of the crew members who sighted Blake and Ivy coming out from a balcony with all smiles.

“We are so sorry, we are coming right now” Ivy apologized before rushing over to the main hall with Blake.

“Where did the two of you go?” Director James whispered.

“Forgive me director, I took Ivy somewhere” Blake gave a silent apology and the both of them faced the camera.

Some pictures of them were taken before Ivy and Blake started cutting the cake. It got to a place where they felt the knife touched something.

“What’s that?” Ivy narrowed her eyes and looked in. Her eyes almost popped out of its socket with what she saw.

“There’s a bomb!!!” She yelled and suddenly people began screaming and running.

The bomb had just a minute left before it activated and everyone was already running for their lives.

“Get into the car all of you” grandpa Mario said to his grandchildren and family members as they came out but Mason and Skyler weren’t outside.

“Where’s Mason and Skyler!!” Hudson asked.

“Skyler!!” Mason already took off his nose mask as he ran through the restroom, opening doors to look for her.

“Skyler! Where did you go? “He was sure that he had almost opened all the doors but the next one he tried opening refused to open.

“Skyler!!” He yelled again and knocked yjt door loudly before putting his ears to check if he could hear anything.

He could hear the soft sound of a female sobbing and she sounded like Skyler.

“Skyler!!” He knocked on the door but no one was answering him and the key wasn’t even there.

He began kicking the door really hard. He went to another restroom door and took that key then tried to open it and it surprisingly worked.

“Sky…” He couldn’t complete it when he saw her laying on the floor with blood bleeding from her legs.

She looked up at him, already pale and weak.

“I’m scared” she cried with that little strength she had.

Mason moved closer to her and lifted her up in a bridal style then began rushing out as fast as he could but when he got to the main hall, the cake bomb had ten seconds left and the door was far away from them.

There was no longer hope.

Mason stopped running and put Skyler down then knelt beside her and cupped her cheeks.

“We are going to die here” Skyler managed to speak with lots of pain in her eyes.

“I’m not happy that I’m dying now but I’m happy it’s beside you. I’m so sorry Skyler, I couldn’t keep a close eye and this happened. I will regret it if I die without saying I love you too” he said with his eyes a bit misty.

He leaned closer to her and captured her lips. Tears came out of Skyler’s eyes, how can she die this early without accomplishing her dream and just when she found love after another heartbreak, death was shortening it.

She shut her eyes tight and more tears came out.

Skyler released a deep breath immediately, the nose mask felt so uncomfortable but she couldn’t take it off because there were so many celebrities and businessmen.

“Bro, you made it in ” Ivy rushed from nowhere to hug then the moment she sighted him.

“I will love to thank everyone that considered attending the launch party of lunch and bridges. We put so much energy into producing the film and we would love to appreciate the writer and the casts especially the main cast” as he spoke people were already clapping.

“So now, love and bridges will be released ten seconds from now and we would love to do that count down together” he announced and the timer appeared on the big screen.

“Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five!..”

Everyone began counting along with the screen.

“Four! Three! Two! One! Yeah!!!”

“Love and bridges is officially released!!” Director James shouted and everyone began clapping, feeling excited.

Ivy and Blake began receiving lots of congratulations on their new movie. After Skyler greeted them, she felt like she needed to excuse herself to go to the bathroom and take off the suffocating nose mask.

She got to a rest room and opened it but what she saw made her eyes widened. Carson and his friend which he brought ( James ) were actually kissing.

They stopped the moment they saw her.

“Sister in law” Carson looked shocked and nervous and Skyler looked at the rest room sign.

Edna forced a smile at her and likewise Ivy to her.

“Ivy” Blake walked towards them, he waved at Edna and she forced a smile at him too.

She nodded and Blake smiled at her before taking her hands.

Mason just finished talking with two business men. He sighed and checked his wrist watch wondering how long Skyler was going to take in the restroom.

“She went to the restroom for more than thirty minutes and she hasn’t returned,” he replied, sounding a bit worried.

“Then you better check up on her, ladies and the restroom can be best friends and also be good enemies” the old man advised and Mason nodded.

Some of grandpa Mario’s friends called him and he went to meet them. While the moment Mason turned around, he bumped into someone that purposely gave him a letter.

He confusedly opened it and his eyes widened with what he saw.

Finally a limo stopped and it opened, the first thing to come down was the old man’s stick that got people screaming.

“Okay can we not talk about Skyler now? Let’s talk about what Mason will finally allow me to do in D•S, you see it’s not fair grandpa, Mason isn’t saying anything about me!” Hudson said angrily.

Grandpa Mario looked at Mason who kept eating.

“Hudson has a low IQ, he can’t even draw or do anything fashion designing related. If he really wanted to learn then he should have applied for the class along with Skyler” Mason finally spoke.

“You must be joking” he muttered.

“What’s wrong with learning when you can’t do anything, even Skyler draws more than you” Ivy said with a smirk.

“You little.. brat! It’s between Mason and me so stay out of it!” Hudson spatted angrily.

Hudson looked at everyone but they weren’t looking at him. His eyes went to Skyler who hid her face and he immediately stood from his sit and rushed to her.

The blond girl that was rude towards Skyler yesterday sat at the back of Jasper. She whispered something to her friends before throwing her book on Jasper.

He turned back to meet her playing with her blond hair.

“Hi, my name is Lilian, can you help me pick my sketch book?” She asked with a flirtatious smile.

“I got it” Skyler picked the book and passed it to her.

She collected it, feeling shocked and angry.

“You’re welcome” Skyler smiled and faced front then rolled her eyes.

She didn’t know that Jasper was looking at her. She just stopped him from talking to that blond girl, maybe she felt something for him.

He smiled to himself.

Sunny just finished with her call before facing the class.

“Well your teacher will be on her way. All your reports will be sent to us and three best students here will be given a good guardian” Sunny announced and the door opened revealing a chubby woman, putting on glasses.

“Good morning everyone, my name is Elizabeth and I’m going to be your teacher, my goal is to make sure everyone of you achieve your goals as an upcoming fashion designers” she said with a smile.

Sunny nodded at her and left.

D•S styles was already open, taking in some people that came to audition for the competition with their drawings and designs.

Skyler looked at herself in the mirror for the umpteenth time, she was already at D•S but she was in the restroom. Earlier she talked to Mason about being fair with the competitors and not to give her any favors because she was his wife.

“Nervous?” A female voice sounded behind her and Skyler turned back to see a girl in red short hair.

“Cynthia Roberts” she stretched her hands out as she introduced herself.

“Skyler…” Skyler thought she shouldn’t tell Cynthia that she’s married so she used her original name instead.

“Skyler Wang” she smiled and accepted the handshake.

“Chinese?” Cynthia narrowed her eyes.

“Hmm, half Chinese half American” Skyler replied and Cynthia nodded but didn’t let go of Skyler’s hands when she saw the diamond ring on Skyler’s fingers.

“You’re married?” She said and Skyler immediately withdrew her hands.

“Hmm, my husband is in support of me coming here” she let out a smile before excusing herself away from the restroom.

The next person she bumped into was Felix. Her eyes widened in a little bit of surprise.

“What are you doing here?” Felix asked.

“I should ask you that, you’re leaving glamorous designs to chase your path here?” She crossed her arms under her chest and scoffed.

“Shouldn’t I tell you that, you did exactly the same thing I did so I don’t care what you say” Felix scoffed and walked past her.

“Good luck getting in without needing my help!!” Skyler shouted after him and he stopped on his tracks then turned to her.

“What did you say?” He slowly asked.

The smirk on Skyler’s face expanded as she stared at him.

“You’ve always used me when we were together right? You couldn’t do your projects without asking for my help and now it’s slapping you right across the face. You can’t do anything without me now so good luck” Skyler smirked, staring at him daringly.

Felix burst out into laughter.

“So are you trying to say you need me back?” He asked.

“No, I’m married” she showed off her ring before walking off with a trump smile.

Felix wanted to go after her but the door to Mason’s office opened and Sunny stepped out.

“Felix Newman?” She called and looked around.

“Here” Felix raised his hands.

“It’s your turn” she replied and went back in.

Felix arranged his collar probably before moving forward, opening the door and going in.

Mason was busy going through some files, he felt someone was in his office but he didn’t bother to look at who.

“Have your sit, tell me what you’re hoping to archive, bring for the company in the future and show me your works” He began talking while flipping through another page of the file he was going through.

Felix took his head and dropped his sketchbook on the table.

“First I would love to say I love you so much, I’ve been a huge fan and you’re my role model” he said with a smile.

“That’s not what I asked” Mason wasn’t looking at him but he rolled his eyes.

“Okay, I want to be an upcoming fashion designer. I want to be able to own a big company one day and come up with new ideas that would increase the sales and fame of the company. Here is my work” he passed his sketchbook to Mason.

Mason collected it and began going through it but they all looked familiar. It felt like he had seen this exact type of drawings before.

He raised his head up to look at the man in front of him and it all occurred to him. This was Skyler’s ex, he stole her work and he got the guts to sit opposite him.

Felix smiled when Mason looked at him. He couldn’t recognize Mason because he had his nose mask on but with the way Mason was staring at him, he could guess he loved the work.

“Do you think this is child’s play?” Mason suddenly asked him.

“Excuse me?” Felix looked confused.

“What are these you showed me?” He asked afterwards.

“Designs sir, they are really good, don’t tell me you don’t actually like it” Felix looked surprised.

“Sorry but if you want to work for D•S then you would need to show us better than this sham. The exit is that way” Mason closed the sketchbook and passed it back to him.

“No way Mr Mason, I don’t think you’re seeing all the details, have you seen this one?” Felix opened another page and tried forcing it on Mason’s eyes.

“Mr Felix Newman, please here’s the door, ” Sunny, who had been standing behind them, forced a smile at him as she pointed to the door for him.

“Please just one minute, you can’t kick me out, let me show you another..”

“It’s either you leave or the security will escort you out, a warning, they are not nice” Mason said with his usual blank face.

Felix was still reluctant to leave and Mason took his telephone.

“Fine I will leave but you just threw a gem away and you would regret it! All of you!” He glared at them before taking his sketchbook and storming off.

Skyler was sitting somewhere and waiting but seeing him storming out with an angry face made her smile.

“So what happened? You couldn’t do your designs without me?” She smirked at him.

“Actually we are not getting accepted, I stole your past work and it got rejected which means whatever you have there with you will also get rejected” he sounded so sure.

Sunny came out.

“Skyler Wang?” She called and Skyler stood up with a smile.

“Here” she raised her hands and began moving forward but stopped after a few steps and turned back.

“I was foolish in the past but not anymore, I’ve wised up now and I now know the difference between A and B” she added before resuming her steps back to the office.
