    I hurriedly undressed and got into the gigantic bath tub and washed myself, I covered my body with the clean towel and went back to the bedroom to have a change of clothing which I immediately felt like sags.
    I walked out of the room to the dinning to find Clara already on seat with bowls and dishes neatly arranged on the table and I took my seat opposite hers.

    “You smell fresh’, she complimented as she opened the bowl full of rice and dished up.
    “Thanks again, for allowing me stay here”, I appreciated and she just smiled still dishing and we ate quietly.

    “So, how have you been?”, She broke the silence and I sighed.
    “Physically I’ve been fine,I desperately need a job,luck hasn’t been on my side since I graduated”, I said pitying myself.

    “Your family?”, She asked again.
    “I have no one”, I retorted averting my gaze from hers.
    I did have a family but I never liked talking about them,they were just like vultures in my life.
    “I see,I’ll talk to my boss tomorrow and see if we can squeeze you in, business administration, right?”, She concluded.

    “Yes,thank you so much, that means a lot to me”, I appreciated.
    “It’s nothing, we’re friends, remember?,I should do this for you”, she continued.
    “Goodnight,I have an early morning tomorrow”, she bade already on her feet.

    “Goodnight” I said and she walked away to the stairs.
    It had been three months since I came to the city to stay with Clara and she had been a true friend,she made sure I got a well paying job , bought me designer clothes,shoes and bags, helped me fix my hair and lend me her old car,I started living the dream.

    Months passed and I returned her car and bought mine, I wanted to return the money she used on me too but she declined so I used it to buy her a ‘thank you’ gift which she appreciated whole heatedly.

    “Babes,I think it’s high time I find my own place”, I said flipping the pages of the magazine I was holding.
    “No,you don’t have to,I like staying with you”, she declined.
    “But I came here so I can be independent”, I whined.

    “You can still be,you don’t have to move out”, she said fixing her gaze on me and I gave her the ‘i don’t know’ look.
    “Okay,help me pay the rent”, she suggested and I shrugged my shoulders.

    “Okay”, I agreed.
    “But I must find my own place at some point”, I continued and she nodded.
    ‘guess I should save’, I thought throwing the magazine away…

    My name’s Ruth Grey, short, dark skinned, slim and was a newly graduate in business administration.
    Living in the village wasn’t easy since I couldn’t find a job and my siblings were just mocking and making fun of my joblessness,as if I was lazy and didn’t want to work.

    “You’re so useless,work you cannot but you eat everything eatable in this house”, my elder sister mocked.
    “Why don’t you go out and look for a job like other grown women?”, The younger one screamed.

    ‘Look at this one,spoilt brat’, i thought. Tears were threatening to fall but I pushed them back,I wasn’t going to give them that satisfaction.
    I just sat there staring into space not minding the cruel and barbaric words they were saying to me,I was used to it by the way.

    I was on my way to buy some food stuff when I bumped into my childhood friend Clara Griffith and after narrating my story to her she promised to allow me follow her to the city and stay with her until I find a job,I was so happy I met her,I couldn’t wait to see my siblings’s faces when they see me succeed,I was already counting my chickens.

    I packed my bags and followed her to her house in the city,
    “Welcome to my humble home”, she said gesturing me to come inside and I did,
    “Wow”, was the only word I could get at that moment,the house was enormous and beautifully decorated.
    “You live here?”, I asked touching each object and she nodded in agreement.

    “This place is so huge”, I screamed gaining a chuckle from her.
    “You’re funny”, she said reaching for the television remote and turned it on.
    I almost lost my step still admiring the well furnished house.
    “Okay,that’s enough,let me show you your room so you can freshen up”, she said dragging my luggage to the stairs which I failed to notice. I trailed behind her until she stopped in front of a blue painted door,my favorite colour.

    She pushed the door open and we both walked in,the bed was so huge,I couldn’t stop myself from admiring.
    “My bedroom is opposite, dinner will be ready soon,take your time”, she said and I mouthed a ‘thank you’ before she left the room.
    ‘i’ll unpack later’, I thought after glancing at my bag.

    I pushed the second door in the room open and walked in.
    ‘the bathroom’, I thought as I stared in awe on the huge bath tab and the neatly arranged toiletries.
