Gladys blood was boiling in anger immediately melody just told her what transpired between her and Henry. Melody tried to calm her down telling her that she’s fine but Gladys didn’t listen as he went in search of Henry.

Desmond on the other end who was in Amanda’s team saw that Amanda has achieved her own goal of making Henry her boyfriend and it’s his own turn now to approach melody because she’s emotionally weak to be taken easily. It was too hard for melody to bear seeing the Henry she so much trusted telling her that she’s nothing to him. But come to think of it why was he eyeing me secretly when he said that? Melody said in her mind but had no answer to the question as her mind was made up to focus on her education not to cry over s guy that pretended he loved her but she finds it difficult to move on.

Desmond exam was drawing closer, Desmond too was a cute guy who was starting to have fresh bears. He looked more handsome that afternoon morning as he approached melody who was sitting alone in the school garden pretending to be reading her books when her mind was very far from what she was doing.

“Hi melody “Desmond said with his hands in his pocket.

“Can I join you? He asked but melody only nod her head without saying anything as he sat down. Desmond discovered that melody was only looking at a blank space in the book she was holding without anything written in it.

“Melody! Melody! ” Desmond called the second time as she jerked from her thoughts and answered him.

“Am I crying? She returned the question as she clean her eyes with her palm.

“I’m sorry senior Desmond I can’t agree to your proposal.

“Melody why? I love you with the whole of my heart ” he said just then bringing back the sad memories for melody as she recalled that it was the same thing Henry told her the day he proposed to her too.

“I’m sorry senior I would have agreed, but my heart belongs to someone else “she said and Desmond felt disappointed

“Henry I guess “?he said and melody didn’t care to answer as she stood up feeling the pains in her heart, she ran out of him instantly and Desmond knew that she was in pain. Maybe something is wrong somewhere.
Desmond remembered that there’s a girl in their class dying for him just for him to love her back and give her the opportunity of becoming his girlfriend, why is he trying to force himself on someone who’s heart belongs to someone else? Why is he trying to destroy other people’s relationship just because of a mere girl called Amanda who he’s working with? Seeing melody in tears really touched his heart as he promised to give Esther a chance not to force himself on someone else.

Henry was having a nice time with Amanda his new love as they both keep calling each other on phone and discuss lengthly.
Henry made Amanda to promise him one thing which she did, as she promised him that she won’t hide any secret from him. Henry didn’t even care to call melody again since the day he started dating Amanda thus adding more salt to Melody’s wound.

The school closed and melody was about to go when Desmond approached her and stretched a piece of paper to her.

“What’s this? She asked

“Melody, I’ve noticed something and I’m not asking you for a date again. Let’s just be friends “Desmond said and there was sincerity in his eyes as melody looked deep into it.

“There’s someone out there that loves me back just as you love him too, I guess it’s high time I live her too” he said

“What’s in that paper? She asked

“It’s my number, we can talk on phone ”

“Sorry I don’t have a phone but we can be friends “she said.

Desmond drop down his head feeling disappointed as he tried to walk away.

“Fine let me have it” she said and collected the number from Desmond as he smiled and left.

Henry has been visiting Amanda in her house from time to time but without any form of sexual issues, they were now bond together as Amanda believed that this is true love that Henry is not going to harm her.

Days passed and still nothing changed concerning melody and Henry as Desmond kept calling her on phone to check on her. It was a tough time for her as both things happen to her but she had to face life and move on.

It was only two days left for the competition date as Amanda was preparing herself well for the competition without any form of distraction. She was so mean to represent her school as usual, Henry visited her that evening as he met her reading her books as usual but there’s something strange about Amanda room as he kept wondering what it is but later waved off the idea.

Desmond felt pity for melody because he later understand that it’s because of Amanda’s relationship with Henry that is giving her endless tears as he came to understand that melody truly loves Henry.
He decided to return to his normal senses and not to be used by anyone.

The day finally came for the competition as Amanda was preparing in her house for the competition without Henry by her side assuring her that she will be the winner.
Melody didn’t know whether to go to school or not as the thought of seeing Amanda taking her place haunt her but she later dressed up for school.

Desmond too was ready to witness the competition too, the sun shine brightly in the sky, the birds flew high up in the sky, the cool breeze began blowing gently as the compound of miles high school were filled with students from different schools and teachers from different schools too who were there to witness the great competition.

Soon the Corps siren began blowing from a distance signaling that the governor is on his way with his escorts for the competition. Soon he arrived the premises with tight security and team who trailed behind him as if he’s God. He was really pleased to see such a number of students who were present there as he waved his hand to them moving inside the hall.

Soon Mr Adams arrived the compound well dressed too as his conscience kept battling with him. He sighed melody from a far looking so weak and teary as if she will die any moment from now, he brought out his phone and send a call across to Mrs Hannah who arrived just immediately and to some of his staff who were there, just then Amanda arrived with Henry in his car. Mr Adams called melody who was standing outside near the hall as she approached then feeling embarrassed and frightened on what he has to say. He called on Amanda too who was looking expensively hot showing that she was fully ready to compete.

She walked down to where they stood without any of them knowing the glue of what Mr Adams is about to say not even Mrs Hannah nor her fellow staff. Time was really burning as Mr Adams cleared his throat and began.

“I called all of you out here for a reason, which is liable to what happened the previous day of this competition.

So I want to clearly state that I don’t want such thing repeat itself again today” he said and the words were useless to melody because she’s not the one to compete.

“So Miss Amanda Patrick I’m sorry to say this you are……..

He was being interrupted by the school bell that signalled that everyone should be in the hall for the start of the competition.
