If that happens, many students will register for WAEC next year in another school because everyone wants a place where they will pass in one sitting even if it involves paying extra money.

    Before we know it, we saw food packaged in beautiful nylon bags being handed over to them we didn’t see any money given to them but we all knew money was involved. They went for a seat to do justice to the food, each to his own. Just then, the game started and it dawned on us why the school and it’s management left the invigilators at first. They were busy working out the answers.

    They flooded the exam hall and started distributing the answers in a fullscap to those who paid for runs. I waited patiently until my own package got to me. I wasted no time as I interpolated everything in it into my answer script. Our teachers cannot get it wrong. They have been in the game for years and they always delivered. The story will not be different during my own time. God forbid bad thing. I must pass. I realized that they do set questions from topics covered from SS1 to 3 and I wondered how these examiners expected us to remember all these things.

    After copying everything, I took a sigh of relief. The next thing was to submit and say bye bye to secondary school. I looked at the window and saw John standing there. He was looking at me. When my eyes finally met his, he smiled and I smiled too. I saw his lips move. I didn’t hear him clearly but I could tell he was asking if I have finished writing. I nodded and he waved his hand signaling to me to submit. I looked at my answer script again. There was nothing more to write. I submitted and scanned the hall for Adaku but I couldn’t spot her. The hall was so big.

    We came out of the hall and saw other students walking around the school compound. Some girls were crying because they would no longer see their friends. Some were taking pictures together. I drew Johnny closer and hugged him deeply right in front of everybody because I know that ones we go back to our various homes where we all came from, we will not have to spend good time together again

    That night I didn’t return early. John took me out and we had a good time together. He escorted me home and stayed back. He insisted he wanted to pass the night I only felt pity for Adaku who will be deprived of sleep tonight because I know Johnny will make love to me all night long.

    I wrote Jamb and passed in flying colors. Not long after that, I got an admission in UNIZIK to study mass communication. The acceptance fee alone was 24,500 naira but I didn’t have that kind of money anywhere and I couldn’t go to my mum for help because she made it clear that she doesn’t have money to send me to the University. I told her I must go to the University like the rest of my mates.

    Sometimes, I strolled up and down Ifite road at UNIZIK checking the price of lodges there. It was too much and not something I could afford. Some of the hostels were stamped at 120,000 naira for one year while some are a bit above that.

    I took a bus going inside the school to have a better look of my faculty and saw my mates roaming up and down. I know most of them have paid whatever fee we were required to pay. They had rich parents who are ready to spend money to educate their children. I got into one of the management science building and broke down in tears. I had taken JAMB for nothing. I had no money to pay for the acceptance fee. I had no money to pay for a lodge and most importantly, I have no money saved anywhere to pay my first year school fees. I got an information from a trusted source that freshers pay a total of hundred thousand naira and above for first year. I put down my face on the chair desk and wept. I have written jamb for nothing. Truly, university education is not for the poor.

    “And how does a baby just vanish? We will take you into custody so you can tell us what is happening in this hospital?” she said and ordered the doctor to walk with them into the Police land cruiser

    The doctor didn’t oblige,he followed the police orders even though she was younger than him.The doctor is roughly in forties while the police is in twenties

    The thief had managed to jump over the fence,a grey Toyota fielder has been waiting for her.

    She got into the car then changed into her clothes and threw the nurses clothes outside through the window as the car sped through the dark road and disappeared.

    “So you were able to steal the baby? Wow” the driver told the woman who was breathing heavily while sweating profusely

    “Don’t even say it,I was almost caught,I have never been scared before like today.Drive as fast as possible before we are caught” she said shaking the child who was crying

    “I think I should excuse you both.”, Oliver said but Finn pinned him down.

    “She is about to leave anyway.”, He said and tears just rolled down.

    “I didn’t love you, I never loved you Andy, I was just trying to distract myself and I guess it didn’t work.”, He said and she sI.apped him very hard and ran out.

    “The last part isn’t true right? You did love Andy, didn’t you?”, Oliver asked and Finn just shrugged.

    “I do but if I didn’t add that part, she wouldn’t want to give up. I will just have to move on and concentrate on work and max.”, He said.

    “Was the break-up really necessary? I really felt bad for her, all she did was too try to impress Max but he didn’t even give her any chance.”, Oliver said.

    “I think it’s better I stay single, relationships isn’t my thing. Handling max is enough headache for me already.”, Finn said as he yawned.

    “I feel so much better breaking up with Andy.”, He admitted.

    “Who feels better breaking up with someone else they like?”, Oliver said and shook his head.

    “You are weird and hard to understand, you are just like your son.”, Oliver added.

    “I have to go now, max must have made a total mess at home.”, He said checking his wrist watch.

    “And I have to interview people who will apply for secretary job tomorrow.”, He added.

    “Why don’t you just look for a nanny for max? You also need to take care of yourself, you don’t look fine.”, Oliver said.

    “Max fired some and most of them quit, anyways I have to go.”, He said as he tap Oliver’s shoulder.

    “Should I come to see you tomorrow, you just became single, I want to comfort you.”, Oliver said.

    So one Saturday night as I was walking from school after attending the university christian union fellowship that had lasted upto nine pm I came across Mr Lennox our English Lecturer,he was in his black Subaru that he had parked outside West Bar and Restaurant.

    The lecturer was drank but wasn’t drank that much.Mr Lennox knew me very well since I was among the few students who had made the English literature class lively.

    I had always made Mr Lennox class lively by interrupting him and asking questions and sometimes I even answered questions on behalf of the lecturer.This behavior made many of the coursemates hate me.

    Some naughty and jealous girls like Deborah always talked about me to other collegemates but that never bothered me at all.My single mother was struggling to pay my school fees and therefore I knew myself very well.I wanted to learn and avoid bad peer influence that might ruin my future and shutter my dreams of helping my mum raise my two younger siblings and even be able to gift her a nice home to live.

    My mother had managed to acquire a one bedsitter house that she paid rent every month of ksh 3k.The house had housed my siblings and I to this time.

    She usually did some casual work for a day’s pay so that we could survive and that is why I believed that I had a debt to repay my mum.My mum is a strong woman imagine in a day’s pay he had managed to raise three kids,pay rent,pay school fees and everything.Life wasn’t easy for us though as we grew up.

    If you ask me if I have ever slept without eating,I will just laugh.Here in campus I was living by the grace of God.I had to survive so that my young siblings can have something,that is why I never wanted to waste my life with people whose families were well off and had a future even if they failed to graduate in university.

    Mr Lennox saw me walking past the car,he then lowered the car window and called me,stretched his hands towards me and we Shook hands.

    “ How are you Cate?”

    “ Am fine sir”

    “ Where are you from this time of the night”

    “ Sir am from the CU meeting that we always have on Saturday evenings.You know am the CU Vice chair”

    “ Ok can I give you a ride”

    I tried to refuse but after persuading me so much I had gotten into the car and the Lecturer had driven.

    Where I resided wasn’t far,it was less than a kilometer away but since the Lecturer had insisted that he wanted to offer me a ride,how could I refuse.

    The lecturer was a good person and the thought of him doing any harm to me didn’t cross my mind.Futhermore I was among the best in his courses even when it came to exams and this gave me confidence.He must admire how I take my work seriously,I thought.

    Police Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi has shared reasons why crossdressers in Nigeria cannot be arrested or prosecuted.

    The PRO was asked how the police are responding to the crossdressing crisis in Nigeria involving the likes of Bobrisky, James Brown, Jay Boogie and so on during an interview on Channels TV.

    According to Muyiwa Adejobi, certain cases are extremely challenging to prove. Citing rape case as an example, he said that there are numerous elements that need to be proven and failing to prove one of them could result in a case being dismissed in court.

    In his opinion, you cannot arrest someone you want to prosecute without having credible evidence against them.

    He further stated that crossdressing is not illegal in Nigeria to the best of his knowledge but the allegations on crossdressers are based on natural offences and requires credible evidence to be prosecuted.
