    My dear, if I had my way I won’t even think of traveling at all but I have to so I will see my Dad. He always asks of me and I don’t know if this will be the last time of seeing him. Ada said.

    So, when are you traveling? Uju asked.

    I don’t know yet I will call my brothers first to know when they are coming. If they are not coming then I will travel on the 30th and be back on the 5th of January. I will also call my friend Chekwube to know if she’s coming home too she’s the only friend I have in the village. Ada said.

    It’s fine but any arrangement you are making you better do fast. The Christmas we are talking about is next week. At least if you are buying things you get them now. Uju advised.

    I’m not carrying any loads. I will send money to my mom and my brother to get some necessary things. Let me only carry ódeshi (bulletproof) I kept in stock for my mom. Ada said and they both laugh.

    Later in the evening Ada picked up her phone and called her siblings. She first called Somtochukwu her elder brother to know his plans for Christmas.

    The call ended Ada called Chima her younger brother to find out when he will be coming home and her friend Chekwube. The response from Chekwube and Chima made Ada happy because they both said they will be home on the 24th. Ada gave her elder brother Somto a call again and told him what she discussed with Chima and when he said he will be coming home. They both agreed they will all be coming home on the 24th.

    Ada arrived in Umuoma her village on the 24th at about 4 p.m. She was so excited to behold that atmosphere in the village mostly on Christmas feast. Everywhere was noisy and people were dancing and creating music for Umuoma Must Come Home” celebration.

    Home sweet home! I missed home anyways. Ada said to herself and charter a tricycle that will take her to her father’s compound. It took the tricycle driver thirty minutes to get to Ada’s compound because of the untarred bad road.

    Mama! Ada screamed and called her mother who was leaving their compound with a group of women.

    Her mother turned and it was Ada. She started singing for her.

    Ada had already began to hawk different items by the roadside just to survive.

    While her mother just stays at home eating all the money that ada had worked for.

    Ada was then able to enroll in a public school where they were given free education.

    Ada at that time had started seeing her menses as a young woman.

    She quickly told her mother about it, but her mother paid no attention and cared less.

    She couldn’t afford to get herself a menstrual pad and had to go to school like that.

    In school her pant and skirt will get soaked and all the students will begin to laugh at her.

    She usually end up going home in tears, she kept telling her mom about it but rachel acted as if she didn’t care.

    At the closure of school one day, ada noticed a girl approaching her.

    After reading the letter, ada fell on the floor crying her heart out.
