CARSON’S MANSON*

Emory just knew it when she woke up.

What happened last night wasn’t a dream, Levi came into her bedroom to pull her out of her nightmare again just like he did at Forte.

And the fact that her room smells like him is another evidence.

He even cleaned up the mess of half-eaten apples she left on the ground and shutdown her laptop for her…he must have stayed for long.

How is he even able to hack into her house when the door is always securely locked?

If only her parents knew, that their door has been reduced to fake by a particular devil.

She couldn’t help the smile that leapt to her lips as she dragged her phone out of the duvet to text him.

Emory: You came again last night… Criminal.

Levi is always active, he’s always with his phone so she expected him to reply immediately, but he didn’t.

“Strange” she muttered, watching it for three more minutes before deciding to delete the text.

Her eyes went to the bottle of tequila and box of red apples beside her shoe rack.

She bought the two like Rebekah said, but she hasn’t been chanced to give them to him.

Should she go to the Loft?

She was thinking about it as she left the room, going downstairs.

“Em you’re awake!” Tate came out of the kitchen in her apron and the usual french twist on her hair.

She’s holding a small spoon containing the soup she’s cooking.

Emory opened up, and she fed her the soup.

“Mmm… Tasty. You still cook the best soup, Ma”

“I know, right? How was your night, baby?” Tate kissed her scattered hair fondly.

“Lovely” Emory kissed her back on the cheek.

“You look happy this morning, what’s the secret?” Tate winked.

“Nothing” Emory grinned.

“What are you girls chatting about?” Mr. Carson came downstairs.

“Morning dad!” Emory smiled.

“Today is a good one, did you just greet me?” The man smiled, and Tate stroked Emory’s hair.

“Our baby is in a good mood. Doesn’t this call for a shopping spree? You can go with Sybil when she arrives later today” she said.

“Sybil is coming back today?” Emory’s eyes lightened up.

“Wait for it” Tate replied.

“I can’t fuçking wait” Emory hugged the woman.

The ringing of the doorbell made them disengage.

Emory rushed to open the door, and she was surprised to see Rain.

“Rain?” She blinked.

“Hey” Rain came in with a large smile.

“The girl from before? How’re you doing?” Tate asked kindly.

“I’m good, no class till 12 so I decided to spend time with Emz, then we can go to campus together” Rain replied.

“Welcome” Tate smiled, returning to the kitchen.

Mr. Carson said nothing as he entered the living room.

“I don’t think that’d be possible, I’m actually going somewhere” Emory said.

“Where?” Rain asked.

“Actually…

“Banks?” Rain asked suspiciously.

Emory released a soft exhale, feeling so uncomfortable.

“Then I can tag along! C’mon, harmlessly” Rain added.

Emory sighed again.

“C’mon… didn’t you guys accept me into the friendship already? I…

“Fineeee” Emory said through her teeth.

“That’s it!” Rain held her arm, and they went upstairs together.

They came back after thirty long minutes, and Emory is already dressed up in a black armless gown and a jean jacket to cover up.

“You girls won’t have breakfast? It’s almost done” Tate said from the kitchen door.

“We’ll come back for it” Emory replied, leaving the house with Rain.

Rain decided to drive with her in her car, and she won’t stop smiling, as if they’re going to see the president.

“Are you taking these red apples and tequila to him? Does he like them?” Rain asked as Emory drove out.

“Maybe” Emory replied uninterested.

Rain smiled again.

LOFT, 9AM*

Hyce spent the night here together with Levi.

Levi is still upstairs, maybe sleeping, but Hyce is downstairs at the center, purple bonnet on.

He’s sitting with a bowl of pork rinds which he’s munching as he scrolled through Isaac’s IG account.

He’s like addicted to it, and a glint is in his eyes as he stared.

“Cute” he scrunched his nose as he reacted love on another picture.

Red beeped on the wall, indicating a visitor.

He stood and went to open the door, but a frown etched on his face.

“Chadwick? Tell me this is your damn ghost cos what the hell are you doing here after Banks took pity on you? You want another shot of the poison?” He said.

“I’m here to say thank you to Banks, easy” Chadwick said gently.

“Not needed, adios” Hyce scoffed and made to shut the door, but then Emory’s car pulled up.

She came out with Rain, and Chadwick had to step aside as they both came in.

Emory gave him a shitty glare.

“For the second time, adios” Hyce rolled eyes, shutting the door at Chadwick’s face.

“Oy girls! Didn’t know Rain is now partof clique” he said, joining them in the center.

“This is the first time I came here and met the lights on” Emory replied, and Hyce grinned.

“I know, right? Banks effects”

“Where’s he?” Emory asked.

“Upstairs, still asleep” Hyce replied.

“By this time?” Emory frowned, going upstairs immediately.

Rain settled beside Hyce, taking his bowl of pork rinds.

“That’s mine, Rainstorm” he took it from her.

“Are you coming to the rave party tonight?” Rain asked suddenly.

“You know about the party? That should make a headline for the love of dîck” Hyce replied, and Rain laughed.

“I’m starting to learn how to socialize”

“Good for you, and yes, I’m coming to the party. Everybody is coming, and there’s no party without Hyce, the end” Hyce squared his shoulders, throwing a rind into his mouth.

Rain nodded, taking a peek at his phone only to see Isaac on screen.

“You’re stalking Isaac’s page?” She said, and Hyce immediately gave her all his bowl of rind.

“You can have it all. You’re Isaac’s friend, right? Hook us the fûck up” he said.

“Isaac likes you” Rain immediately replied.

“Jokes?” Hyce frowned.

“I’m serious, he always talks about you, but he’s shy to admit he has some gay genes. I’ll talk to him” Rain replied.

“And it’s done! It’s fuçking done! Tell me what you wanna have for breakfast? Oh I dunno how to cook but I can actually make you delicious coffee… coming!” Hyce stood, disappearing into the kitchen.

Rain’s smile disappeared, and she stood, going upstairs.

UPSTAIRS*

Levi’s room is empty when Emory arrived, but his phone is on the bedstand.

She took it and saw the preview of last night’s notifications on his lock screen.

Meaning he hasn’t touched his phone this morning.

Isn’t he supposed to be in bed according to Hyce?

Where’s he? Is he actually ok?

She dropped the phone and saw the second door which leads to the bathroom.

She opened it, and she was surprised to see Levi inside the big king-sized tub.

His black slacks is still on, but he’s shirtless, and his lips are pale like he’s sick.

Despite the fact that it’s morning, He’s sweating on the chest. His eyes are closed.

“Levi?” Emory went in fast, kneeling beside the tub.

“Levi, are you ok? Levi” she called worriedly, holding his arm to shake him with.

No movement.

“Levi? Lev…

His eyes flicked open this time, and the bloodshot state threw her off guard.

Her eyes widened beyond limits, but she didn’t get to comprehend before he grabbed her by the arm, pulling her down.

She landed with him inside the tub with a rough turbulence, and the water poured all around them.
She was panting as he wrapped his right hand firmly on her neck, pulling her closer with that.
One minute, she gasped, and in the next one, he was already kissing her.

Emory struggled hard, pinching him on the neck and every other open part to stop him since it seems he’s not in his right senses, but it was like pouring water into a seive.
It’s not working… He looks so mad, he’s too much.
He bit down on her lip, and the taste of copper boomed as her blood filled the kiss.
He didn’t stop, and when it became useless to struggle, she stood still, their breaths mixing as he kissed her deeper…
Rougher.
She closed her eyes as her breaths became hot and fast, but then Rain came in.

Her heart sank into a pit immediately she saw the scene…she couldn’t contain it.
She turned back to leave, but the water on the ground made her slip.
She fell on the hard, hurting her forehead, and at the same time, the lights went off.
She scrambled back to her feet but couldn’t find her way out, so she traced the wall and found the switch.

Immediately she touched it, the lights came on, but it went off when she left it.
She touched the switch again, and the lights came back on again, then she looked back to the tub.
Levi broke the kiss, his dark houndy eyes covered with his wet hair landed on her, making her freeze.
She felt a sting in her heart… She should be the one in that tub with him.

Emory is still recovering from aftershocks, and her eyes are still so wide on mad Levi.
Rain made to let go of the switch…
“Hold it, keep the lights on” Levi’s breathy voice came, and she gulped.
“Huh?”

“If you let go of the switch, I’ll fuçking kill you” he muttered in finality, then his eyes went back to Emory.
He recaptured her lips, harder than the first.
He resumed kissing her obsessively, and Rain’s hand started shaking on the switch, not daring to let it go as she watched with a bleeding heart.
