🧡 VALERIE’S POV Continues 🧡
I woke up to a light touch on my arm.
I opened my eyes to see it was Joy.
He was kneeling at the centre of the bed, with his eyes on me.
“Aunty Valerie. You. Are over. sleeping.” He said coolly.
Hell! oh my! I wonder what the time is.
I reached for my phone and the time said ‘8:30am’
Oh my! When im I really gonna get to work!
“Joy, you should have woken me up before now. Im certainly reaching O.S.H by ten!” I said as I rushed out to the bathroom.
I quickly brushed and had my bathe.
When I came out in a towel, Joy was out.
I walked to my dressing table, creamed my body and dressed my hair.
I picked a white tight gown and green heels.
I had totally forgotten the door wasn’t locked and was putting on my dress when the door opened and Joy walked in carrying a tray.
He faced down immediately he saw I wasn’t dressed. I was just on a white pantie and bra.
I sighed. At least he’s learning to look away.
He placed the tray on the small table beside the sofa and on it was a mug cup and some slices of bread in a saucer.
Did Joy make tea for me?
“Joy, what’s that?” I asked.
“Tea..” He pointed.
“You made that for me?” I asked.
He nodded. Awwn cutie.
“Oh.. Thanks Joy but there’s no time for that. I need to be at work in a few minutes.” I said and pulled on my heels.
He nodded but I saw the sadness on his face.
He stared at me quietly as I quickly applied some light makeup, then grabbes my bag and phone.
I walked over to him.. I got closer… and then I kissed him on the lips.
He blushed with excitement.
“I’ll be back on time okay. I love you.” I said to him.
He blushed again.
“I. Love. You.” He said back.
I smiled and kissed him again.
“Comeon.” I said and took his hand and we walked out.
I was glad that I made it a little bit in time to work.
Later in the day, I had some chats with Eva who told me Emeka took her to see his uncle who recently came back from US.
“He’s always wanting me to meet every member of his family which sucks!” She said and rolled her eyes.
“Wow.. That is really cool. Iyke never took me to see any of his family. He was always giving one excuse or the other. Never knew he was nothing but a bitch.” I said.
She became calm.
“So you see girl, a man who love you would do anything just to show that he’s serious about you. That is what I realised.” I said.
“Well, what about Joy?” She changed the discussion.
“He’s fine. Cute like always.” I smiled.
“Oh that’s not what I mean. I like how you are you coping with a weirdo?” She asked.
I smiled, “He’s cool. So caring.” I said.
“Gist me. How do you guys play your love?” She winked.
I laughed, “Come on. What’s that”
“Come on. Do you two kiss and the rest, you know.”
“Kiss? Yeah. Eva, Joy is so adorable. I love him. Im planning on letting mom know. I just gotta let her know. She xan say whatever she wanna say.” I said.
“Girl I just think you shouldn’t let your mom get to know abput him for now.” Eva said.
“Eva I got to. Michael is caring home next week and there is no way, I’ll keep Joy away from them. They will certainly come around.” I said.
“Then I suggest you get him an apartment or keep him in a hotel where he’do stay till Michael travels back. You can do it.” She said.
I sighed, “No Eva, I can’t hide Joy from my family. Not now that I’ve got feelings for him.” I said.
“Well, I just gave a good suggestion. You know your mom too well Vale. You recall what happened then in secondary school?”
“Yeah, Samuel.” I said.
“Better” “That was then Eva. Im matured enough to love whoever I want to.”
“You are thinking the wrong way?”
“I don’t care. I love Joy and he say he loves me as well.”
“Wait, Joy said that he loves you?”
“Yeah.”
“Come on Vale, you easily fall for little words.” She said.
“Eva!” I breathed.

I didn’t see Maureen today. I left work at six.
I stopped by a clothe shop and got Joy few clothes. I know he’ll like them..
I just want him to keep looking good.
I got him a body cream too and a cute hair band to pack his hairband.
If I could wish for anything now, is for Joy to look very pleasing.
After I left the clothe shop, I stopped by an eatery and bought pizza and barbecue chicken..
Then I drove home.
I horned and Joy opened up few minutes later.
Im so happy he doesn’t even go out when im out.
He’s so humble.
I drove in and he closed back the gate.
When I came down, he rushed me in a hug.
“Uhhh Joyy..” I smiled.
“I. Miss. You. Aunty Valerie.” He said.
“Oh really? me too sweets.” I smiled.
“I. Want. To..Tell. You. something.” He said, still hugging me.
“What’s it?”
He brought his lips to my ear.

I smiled and kissed him.
He blushed a smile.
His lips tasted more sweet this evening.
“Joy… umm what did you take?” I asked with a smile.
“Nohing.” He shook his head.
Oh.. must be my silly thoughts!
I smiled and kissed him again.
“What’s. In. There?” He asked, looking at the shopping bag and nylon in my hand.
“Pizza, chicken and something for you.” I smiled.
Uh! He grabbed the bags.
“Uhhh!” I said, amazed.
He laughed and ran inside with the bag. Oh oh!
I chuckled and went in..
I saw him bringing the things in the shopping bag already

Haaa! What. Is this?..” He looked at the cream.
“Your cream.” I said as I got behind him.
“Ohh…and. This one?” He turned shaking it to my face.
“Your hairband. You like it?” I said.
“Let. Me. Try it on. Your hair.” He said and stepped forward.
“No. let’s go eat first.. Im famished.” I said.
Later At Night…
“Wow.. Joy your hair looks so cute now.” I said as I ponytailed his dada with the hairband.
I was behind him, as we sat on the centre of the bed and I packed his hair.
Now im done and it looked so cute.
I came over and layed down, and put my arms behind my head.
He did same just immediately.
“Your hair look so cute now.” I said.
He blushed. “T..thanks.” He said.
“But you look more cute.” I said.
He smiled with a happy blush.
“Joy?” I called.
“Uh?” He mumbled.
“Will you be scared to know my family? my mom and my brother? My dad as well?” I asked.
“No.. I. won’t. Be. Scared.” He said.
“Will you be scared to be treated?” I asked.
He looked at me, confusedly.
“But im. Not. Sick.” He said.
“Shh..” I smilef and turned over so I was facing him.
I then placed my hand on his neck.
“Ouch! Your temperature is high. You need some treatment and really soon.” I said playfully.
He smiled excitedly.
“Will. You. Treat. Me?” He asked.
“I won’t be the one to treat you.” I said.
“No…but. You. Are. a. Doctor.”
“Yes.”
“I want. You. To. be the. To. treat me when. Im. Sick.”
I smiled.
“Come here..” I said and snuggled him closer to me…and kissed his hair.
“I love you Joy.. Do you know what that means?” I said.
“It means. That.you. Will. Be. my friend. Forever.” He said.
I smiled, “Yes you are right.”
I pulled more closer and rested my head on his chest.
It felt warm.
“I’do love us to make love. Do you know what that means too?” I asked.
He didn’t answer… instead I felt his heart start beating fast.
“Joy?” called.
“Aunty. Valerie.” He mumbled.
“Do you know what that means?” I repeated.
He shook his head. “We’ll make beautiful kids if we do that.”

“Yes.”
I smiled and kissed him.
“Let’s sleep.” I whispered and snuggled him closer.
