She opened it and brought out what was in it.

“Tada!” She exclaimed happily as she showed him a chocolate cake with “Happy birthday boss” written on it.

“Happy birthday boss!” She said happily.

Frederick’s expression dulled down and his mood changed.

“I don’t celebrate my birthday… Throw it away” Frederick said and Catalina scoffed loudly, surprising him.

“Nonsense! I know very well you don’t celebrate your birthday and honestly I find the reasons quite stupid, no offence though. Your fiance broke up with you on your birthday so what? Is it the end of the world? It’s her loss coz just see how successful you’ve become. Don’t let anybody change who you are, instead use their criticism as a stepping stone to becomes something greater! In life we live only once and you can’t ruin your life because of one self absorbed b*tch! And for the déad of your mother, I’m really sorry about that and I’m sure she wouldn’t want you to keep dwelling over the pain she left behind the moment she díed. Instead she’ll want you to smile each time you think of all the beautiful memories you’ve spent together” Catalina said and Frederick just stared at her, his eyes becoming glassy

He looked away from her as he cleaned his tears. Catalina smiled.

“It’s okay to be weak. It’s okay to cry.. Take a look at me! I literally cried a basin last night and now I feel better” Catalina said and lighted up the candles on the cake.

“Since when did you become a motivational speaker” Frederick sniffed, cleaning the traces of tears in his eyes.

“I want to make up for last night and also, I’m indirectly trying to increase my salary” Catalina smirked and Frederick chuckled.

“Now I want you to make a wish and as you blow this candle, you’ll turn a new leaf in your life and be back the happy you” Catalina stretched the cake towards him

Frederick looked at the cake and then at her. He closed his eyes and few minutes he opened them before blowing the candles.
