Emery’s hands slipped behind his back lightly, hugging him back like he requested
With her head resting on his chest and his body heat mixing with her cold, she feels safe and better
She soon slept off in his arms but Raymond kept watching her, stroking her hair as she slept
“I wish I can stay with you every rainy night like this… I dunno why but I really want to” he said silently, still pulling her closer though that’s almost impossible cos there’s no space between them anymore
He soon drifted off to sleep at midnight…
Next Morning
Emery yawned softly and tried stretching herself but it’s Impossible, like someone is holding her
She opened her eyes as quickly as possible and raised her head up, looking at a manly chest till she finally saw his face
“Boss” she whispered , remembering all that happened last night
“What to do?” She thought, looking at his sleeping face
She gulped down nothing as she continued staring
His face is small but that only makes him look cuter

She raised her hand to his face and placed it on his cheek

She felt her throat running dry as her eyes fell on his bare chest

None of them broke the stare till Emery did
She quickly moved her hand away from his lip and had the opportunity to leave his arms, he let her go and she sat beside him, face down, picking on her nails
“How are you feeling now?” He asked
“I’m..I’m fine” she replied awkwardly
“The cold?, The headache?, It’s all gone?” He said
” Yes, it only lasts till late night* she replied slowly
“I’m glad” he said with a sigh
She quickly took off his clothes and gave it to him
“You need to… wear something” she said
He smiled before taking the shirt
“You can still wear the jacket, it’s a cold morning” he said, putting on the shirt

Someone knocked on the tinted windows
Raymond winded down , revealing his driver

“Boss, I was scared throughout last night, you were nowhere to be found during the rain” he said

” Same place as master Julius and Glenn, someone was kind enough to give us a room” he replied
” Where’s Julius and Glenn now?”
“Here we are” Julius replied behind
Raymond opened the car door and came out to them, likewise Emery
“Emery!” Glenn almost shouted
They hugged each other
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there with you last night, too bad it had to rain at a time like that, how did you manage?” Glenn asked
” Boss took care of everything, don’t worry, I’m fine” she replied simply
“Big head, I thought you’d be in the rain throughout last night, too bad you’re in the car, I’m sad, I wish the rain drenched you” Julius said
” I said it, you’re crazy…get in the car before I kick your ass” Raymond replied, opening the car door
” Thanks” Julius replied and made to get in but Raymond pulled him back
” Not for you” he said and took Emery’s hand
“Get in, I’ll drop you home” he said
She gave him an uncertain look before getting in

” Open the door with your hand and come in” Raymond told Julius before going in too

” So how was last night?” Glenn asked immediately they were dropped home

“Ok fine, it happened that I told him my story before the rain, he gave me his shirt and jacket, leaving him shirtless, I slept on his bare chest with his arms around me” Emery said

” I don’t know what you’re talking about” Emery said

*What about you?, I saw how Julius was stealing glances at you yesterday” Emery said

Raymond can’t help but smile all day when last night’s scene replays in his memory
Maybe because he loves how it made him feel till now
Having her in his arms is like the best thing that has ever happened to him this year
He kept reminiscing about it and even without eating, he feels ok
He remembered her story again and felt sad for her
“I really want to make her happy” he thought
But he feels like knowing more, he picked his phone and that’s when he remembered her phone… it’s not an inch close to fair again..
He sighed and dialled Glenn’s number…
“Your boss just called me to meet him at a coffee shop” Glenn said after hanging up on Raymond’s call
” Why?” Emery asked
“He said he wants to ask some things” she replied and stood
” Then you should go, I’ll just go to Jerry’s place soon” Emery replied
” Sure” Glenn replied and took her bag before leaving the house..
Liz’s doorbell sounded like she has been expecting and she literally jumped up to open the door,
These days she’s forgetting about Raymond cos to her , he’s a pest… maybe cos she got obsessed with Blake already
Blake came into view with a wide smile, hands in pockets

A month later I got hired as your brother’s secretary and didn’t run into her again, even at the restaurant, I was told she was fired cos of her clumsiness
Then on another day, after getting my first salary, I moved out of my house to the one I’m presently at as the occupant of the floor compartment…i met her there as the occupant of the rooftop compartment, a very small room equivalent to a store, she sleeps on a mat .. I persuaded her several times to move into my room with me but she declined, saying she hates inconveniencing people

Raymond inhaled hard

“You know despite the fact that she has only spent a week in the company, I dunno but..I feel attached to her, like it kept going deep everyday that right now, I don’t know what I’m doing anymore.. first it was her brilliancy, intelligence and competency..then she’s pretty, dresses decently and I might sound like a pervert about this but I must say…her tiny curves is one of a kind” he said
” I know, I envy everything about her but I envy that the most” Glenn smiled
” Emery is really a rare gem, I haven’t talked like this about anyone before, not even Liz…but…I just hope I won’t get in trouble” he said
Glenn laughed
” Thanks for your time Glenn, I really appreciate” he said
“Anytime boss” she replied and stood
She’s walking away already but suddenly looked back
” Please protect my friend I beg you, don’t hurt her and don’t allow anyone to do that too” she said
*I understand” he replied
She smiled before entering a cab that drove her home
“I think it’s high time I visit Liz again” Raymond thought and got in his car
Emery inhaled hard after the walk to Jerry’s house
She has been dialling his number but it’s off
“I wonder why it’s like that” she thought
She’s about to knock on the door when she noticed it’s not locked
She pushed it open and her eyes almost popped out with what she saw
Jerry!, And his supposed cousin.. Suzanne!
F*cking each other on the couch stark naked
Her bag fell from her hand first and she covered her mouth with her hand to prevent herself from shouting
Jerry quickly covered himself with his trousers while Suzanne ducked behind him

She’s running out when Jerry held her arm

She looked back swiftly and landed a slap on his cheek, her eyes are all red
“If you touch me again… I’ll bite you” she said before running out
She continued running till she stumbled on a stone..she fell with a wound on her pinky toe
She managed to stand up and squat beside a pillar , she continued crying..
Raymond’s driver halted the car in front of Liz’s house and he came down with thoughts about Emery allover his head
Honestly he doesn’t know what to tell Liz cos it’s not his style to hurt but maybe when he gets to her, words will form
He entered and she’s not in the living room nor the kitchen
He’s about to call her name when he started hearing sounds from upstairs
“What’s that sound?” He asked himself as he climbed
As he climbed, it became more and more audible and clear
It’s Liz’s voice…
His eyes widened
He opened her room door and caught the real deal

“So this is it Liz, not picking my calls, shouting back at me, saying you’re tired of me,…. this is it, you’re busy fucking my brother” he said
” Raymond I’m sorry…I don’t know what got into me, Blake seduced me” she said pleadingly
” Of course he did.. and for you brother, ion think I’ll be able to forgive you anytime soon…good job showing your true colors” Raymond said and turned to go
” Raymond don’t leave please..” Liz begged, standing up from the bed
He turned back swiftly
“Oh, you mean I should wait and record how my brother will f*ck you?, Shameless wench!, Screw you!” He said before rushing out…
” Raymond!, Raymond!… Darn it!, I’m doomed!” She lamented, crying already…
