“What do you want to talk about?” Stephanie ask as they took a seat in the hospital cafeteria.
“It’s about Fiona. I have a doctor friend in China, he says there is a chance that we might be able to get a new heart but the surgery has to take place in China” He inform.
“Really? That’s good then. When exactly do we have to leave?” Stephanie ask, feeling relieve by this piece of information.
“As soon as the doctor discharge her. The earlier we get to Shanghai, the better for us ”
“You have no idea what a relief this news is to me. Thanks” Stephanie said, breathing in a deep sigh.
Just a while ago, she had been crying and now, she’s relived. Seeing her this way made Ashton happy.
He took hold of her hand earning a puzzling look from her.
“If we are going to Shanghai with our daughter, we can’t let her see us arguing which is why I propose we have a truce” he said, hoping she’d say yes.
She stare at him for a while then slowly withdraw her hand.
“I don’t want a truce”
“Why?”
“Cause even with a truce, I can’t just pretend that I’m happy to be around you when it’s the opposite. I can’t forget what you said to me five years ago, it’s etch in here” she said, touching her head.
“Stephanie there’s a perfect….”

“If you have nothing more to say, then it’s best we go back” she said, getting up but he held her back.
“Fine, if you can’t give me a truce then promise me that you won’t cheat on me, I don’t want a cheating wife” he said,towering over her.

“Is it that you pretend or you really don’t know that David fancies you?” He ask, folding his arms.

The buzzing of her phone ended the starring competition between them.
“Okay, I will be there aunt” she said, ending the call.
“The surgery is over” Stephanie told him before heading for the elevator while Ashton followed suit.

“Am sorry mommy. I said I wouldn’t let my heart scare you again but I can’t stop it and it hurts a lot” Fiona said and Stephanie hug her daughter.
“You won’t be feeling hurt again cause we are taking you to china to get operated on, you like that?” Ashton ask, standing beside her bed side on the other side.
“Yes daddy, I want to have a new heart” Fiona said, smiling lightly.
“Is he saying the truth? Is she going to get a new heart?” Susan ask Stephanie.
“Yes. As soon as she’s discharge from the hospital, we will be going to Shanghai for the operation” Stephanie said.
The two women feeling relief while their men Ashton and Stanley watch them with joy.
“What about Faye and Fredrick?” David ask, joining Susan and Stephanie.
“They are with Ashton grandfather” Susan answered.
“It’s late, I need to go get them” Stephanie said about to walk away when David stop her.
“Let me come with you” David said and at that moment, Ashton got to where they were.
He took hold of Stephanie hand, pulling her towards him.
“We will go get our kids, you don’t have to come” Ashton said, warning him off with the look on his face.
“Thanks for offering David but Ashton and I will go get them” Stephanie said, giving Ashton a angry look.
“You can stay here and keep Fiona and I company” Susan said quickly, darting a look at Stanley who she’s sure will decide to stay too.
“Since it’s decided, Stephanie and I will leave now. We will be back soon” Ashton said, pulling Stephanie out of the room.
Stanley notice Susan was avoiding him and so, he got David to leave by asking him to go get them something to eat.
“Hello Princess” Stanley said, waving at Fiona who smile at him.
At the same time, Stanley and Susan tried to cover Fiona with the duvet only for their hand to touch.
Susan pull away quickly, moving towards the window to stare outside.
“Little one, what can I do to stop your aunt from being angry?” Stanley ask softly.
“Is she angry at you?” Fiona ask in return and he nod in answer.
“Then I can only think of one way ” Fiona said, whispering it into his ear.
“Are you sure it’s going to work?” Stanley ask.
“I often see mommy and aunt Susan can’t help but to laugh” Fiona assured.
Stanley took a deep breath and walk towards Susan who still had her back turn on them.
He wrap his arms around her singing her the I love you rendition from a kids show called BARNEY.
When he end the song and let her go, she turn to him still frowning.
“First of all, never sing again cause you have a bad voice and secondly, it only works with Stephanie, it won’t work with you” Susan said, folding her hand against her chest.
Feeling embarrassed, Stanley went to take a seat, his attention on his phone.
He failed to see the brief smile that appear on Susan face before she mask it.
