Tracy looked at the person speaking to her, and tried to fetch her mind from the far away places it had journeyed to.
She couldn’t believe she had just opened the door to a stranger, on the very first day she got to her new home; something they always watched in movies and made fun of people, for.

Her shorts was so short that Tracy could have sworn it belonged to a teenager, yet the plump looking lady, forced the shorts on.
“And why is she so mannèrless? How can she accuse me of being a wïtch when she was just seeing me for the first time in her life?” Tracy thought, looking at the Intrûder over.
“I don’t know if you missed your way auntie, but I thought my husband just returned, and that’s why I opened the door. I never expected to meet someone looking for directions to a hotel at the door.
“You may need to go over to the next house to ask for directions to the hotel you’re going to because I’m so new here, I do not know the direction to wherever it is you’re going to” Tracy told her.
“Your what? Wait a minute, did you just say your husband?

“Where is Bruce by the way?” the Intrûder asked, and right before Tracy could respond, she heard Bruce’s voice.
“And who would be asking for Bruce at this time of the night?
“What do you want Samantha? How dare you show up in my house and still have the effrontery to trouble my wife?” Bruce asked Samantha, looking really à ngry that she chose that day, of all days to make an appearance.
He had told her off a very long while before, and he was under the assumption that she had a perfect understanding of what he told her, when he told her he had found a wife.
“Why did she choose to come to my house, the very day my wife got here, and when I am yet to get her ready to meet the world” he thought with a grimace.
Tracy was looking at the two of them as the bantered, with Samantha referring to her as though she was an inanimate object.
“Hold on a sec Bruce, is this the thing? Is this really all there is to her?
“Bruce you told me to move on because you have found someone you can’t do without, because you found this?
“I can’t believe this! And the crãzy girl is already calling you her husband.
“The very same wïtch I was told nearly got your mother and kinsmen killêd when you attempted to marry her, and you still allowed her force her way into your house, answering the door as though she was someone important?” Samantha blew hot.
“Are you done? I mean, are you done blabbing? Because if you’re not, I can still allow you go on.
“Oh you’re not saying anything, apparently, you’re done. So let me introduce my wife properly because I can see you must have mistaken her for someone else, and she too, must think you are someone important
“Tracy, this is Samantha, the lady I told you I was seeing before we met.
“And Samantha, this is Tracy, my wife. I’m glad your informants already told you we started the process of getting her traditionally married to me, before the unfortunate incidence that made us halt the marriage ceremony.
“What I don’t know is if you were told that I have now paid her bride price fully, and she is now officially my wife.
“We just got back from our short honeymoon, and we were hoping that we could have a few days alone, here in our house, but it appears you had to come by, on your way somewhere” Bruce said, holding Tracy to himself.
“Bruce, you left me for this? Tell me this is a joke Bruce!” Samantha said, blinking back the tears that were on the verge of falling off.
“Erm okay, I can see we have nothing new to talk about, and like I said earlier, I intend to have some time alone with my newly married wife, so if you’ll excuse me” Bruce said and walked into his house with the dumbstruck Tracy, and kicked his door shut.
Samantha couldn’t believe her eyes. Drake actually told her the girl wasn’t exactly a spec, but never could she have imagined that Bruce of all people would choose someone so crûde over her.
She turned around to go, but something told her to ring the doorbell again, and just before she thought it through, her hand was already pressing the doorbell.
The last thing Samantha wanted to do was to look or act despêrate, but it hūrt her to no ends to see the girl Bruce chose over her. And she felt really stupîd, ringing the doorbell while no one answered
Inside the house, the couple were looking at each other, with Bruce thinking of what to say to Tracy to pacify her, knowing that she must be very upset with what she had heard from Samantha, when the doorbell began to ring yet again.
Bruce made to open the door, but changed his mind. Instead, he bent down to pick up his wife, intending to carry her to the bedroom, where they’ll not hear any form of noise from Samantha again.
But as he bent down to pick her up, the pains on his shoulder spiked him so hard, he nearly threw her on the ground.
“Erm babe, why don’t we sit down? There are a few things I need to tell you, and I didn’t know I’d have to tell you so soon” Bruce said.
“Bruce, is that really the kind of person you like? Because I’ve really been confused since you confirmed her as someone you have been seeing.
“Is she truly someone you used to be with? And if yes, how can you love someone like me? Wait Bruce, did you marry me out of pity? Did you come for me because you just felt there would be nobody else to save me?” she asked, expressing her worries.
“Come on Tracy. I couldn’t have gone through thick and thin, fīghting against humans and spirits to get you in my arms, because I pity you.
“Why would anyone pity someone as smart and beautiful as you are anyways?
“Tracy, you were born and brought up in the village, never having access to modern amenities and social life, yet you have been doing so well for yourself because of the level of education you have been able to acquire in your village.
“I looked at you that day Tracy, and I saw my wife in you. I saw the woman with the resilience and determination to break even, in spite of the hurdles you were faced with.
“And most importantly Tracy, I looked at you, And I saw a woman whose body held me spell bound, captivating me so greatly, yet placing me under check, as I waited for the right time to take what’s rightfully mine
“True be told, I never wanted any of them to meet you yet, because I already have plans to get you socially adept before introducing you to them all.
“But now that she has met you, I still have no worries because I know, with your level of smartness, you will be a shocker to her, in no distant time.
“My love, I didn’t marry you because I was pitying you. I married you because this man here, can’t stay without you” he told her, fondling her cheeks tenderly, as he spoke.
Tears began to flow from Tracy’s eyes as she looked at him.
“But just what did I do to deserve this love? How well did I live in my past life to deserve someone like you?” Tracy asked him, resting her head on his chest.
“I am the one who’s lucky to have you, my love. And no matter what happens, I know the power of our love, will pull us through” he told her.
Samantha must have decided to stop pushing the doorbell, because at that point, they stopped hearing the doorbell chiming.
“But one more thing darling, there is something I really need to tell you. I have tried to keep it from you, because I know you may get really worried, but I guess it will be safer to let you know the true situation of things” Bruce began.
“Don’t tell me something bad has happened. Oh God, what is the problem Bruce, what happened?” Tracy asked, getting quite frantic.
“Calm down okay! It’s not really a big deal. I just realized that the crà zy bird back in the shrine seemed to have given me some cuts on my back, so I went out earlier to have a doctor take a look at it.
“The doctor thinks it is infected, but he has already applied some stuffs to make it okay” Bruce told her
Tracy lamented for a while, before Bruce tactically made her stop worrying, asking her dress up, so they could go get something to eat.
“And what would we do with the food I cooked?” She asked, smiling shyly.
They sat I’ve their dinner, eating and talking happily, as Bruce complimented her cooking skills stop.
With dinner eaten, and both of them totally tired, they prepared to go to bed, but the moment Tracy put her head on the bed to sleep, it all began again!
