“When is the next shipment reaching me?” He asked as he got a bottle of wine from his cellar.

One of his men is behind him with a tab.

“In two days” the guy replied, and he turned swiftly.

“Who so long? I told you I hate delays concerning my goods!” He spat.

“The pirates are giving the shippers a lil bit of problem on the sea” the guy replied, and he sighed as he poured the drink into a glass and drank.

“Beverly’s hunger strike is over, bring her some food” he said.

“It’s done, but she wouldn’t eat” the guy replied, and he laughed as he sat.

The spy came in with an envelope which he handed to him. He took it and pulled out the contents.

As expected, they’re pictures of Jemima again, but this time, the pictures were snapped in her bedroom, and she’s wearing her sleeping robe, hair scattered in each of the picture.

He smiled evilly and poured himself another cup, picking one of the pictures in which her sleeping robe is almost off.

“These aren’t satisfying, get me her bathroom pictures, I should at least see what I own before finally claiming her” he said.

Maxwell got back to the office and met a note waiting on his email, from Jemima.

He entered her office immediately.

“Manager Lina said I could” he replied.

“She employed you right?” She said sarcastically.

“You think you’re someone great now that you’re my secretary who owns a laptop? did you even got to college at all?

Are you sure you didn’t forge your CV?” She continued, and he still remained silent, listening to everything while biting his tongue inwardly, stopping himself from talking.

“Now get out of this place right now and get all the files on your desk sorted out.” She ordered, and he silently left the office.

He met piles of files on his desk already, each with what he has to do on the front page.

He sighed and sat, trying not to think about the words she said earlier as he began working on them.

He was just opening the second one when the staff from yesterday came rushing.

“Mr. Milla! The invoice from yesterday! I told you to get it signed with the CEO and the general manager” she said breathlessly.

“Oh I dropped it at the general manager’s office yesterday cos I didn’t meet her on seat, I’ll be right back” he said, rushing out of the office.

He went straight to Tatiana’s office and met her secretary just coming out.

“Mr. Milla?” She blinked.

“I dropped an invoice yesterday” he replied.

“Oh, it’s still with my boss, she says she needs you to come get it yourself” she said.

“Oh cool” he replied and entered the office immediately.

Tatiana looked up with a degrading smile, and she kept it up till he got to her.

Before he could finish, she got the invoice and thew it at him. It landed at his feet.

“I know people like you, acting all big when they actually have nothing to show for it.

Throwing water on my mum was the start of your tribulations, and I won’t rest till I bring you down.

Maxwell picked the invoice from the ground and faced her.

“I have nothing to say” he said and started leaving.

Maxwell finally left the office and went back to his office.

He scanned the invoice and disseminated it to the directors as required, then he resumed work on the files.

It’s sure he’s not gonna leave this office till 10pm today.
