DID DEREK JUST CALLED THINGS OFF WITH PRETTY BLOND GIRL!? I’m arranging drinks in a tray while I stylish beep in their direction. Again, I saw her stand in anger and walk away.
Seems like things are over now. I feel bad for Veronica, she likes him and doesn’t deserve that but the selfish inner me feels happy. It’s probably dancing around and drinking beer that mummy would never let me taste.

“I’m too good for him and his friends. I don’t belong” I sigh.
“So what? You wanna date a nerd now?” Taylor squeezes her face.

“Then you should work on it. I will send you some videos and give you some books to read tonight on how to be mature and then we can find another guy who’s not Benny” Taylor flashed me a smile and I didn’t get to react to what she said when she fled off.

I sighed and then looked forward to see if Derek was still sitting around but I saw an empty table. He left. I don’t think I want any guy. I want Derek, I loved how he pulled me closer and how his tongue felt inside me. I want to experience it again.
WE CAME back home from work, Aunt Maggie and Mom were setting the table for dinner leaving me and Taylor confused about what was happening. It is just 7 pm, probably the earliest time we will be eating.
“Mom is everything okay? Why are we eating early?” Taylor ask.
“Maggie and I were talking and we noticed you kids work a lot. We came here to have fun so we are going out to enjoy the beach, the sun, and summer” My mom answers.
“That’s a good idea but really? I was planning to watch a quick movie. Can I eat dinner later?” I ask but Mom replies by showing me her ‘Don’t play with me’ look.
“Fine early dinner it is” I roll my eyes.
“Good, Taylor help us get dishes to the table and Dove go upstairs and tell Derek to come down” Aunt Maggie instructs me.

Do I really wanna face him after everything that’s happened? Each time I look at him, all I can think of is his lips and hands on me then when he says, that kissing someone means nothing to him lots of awful feelings take me back to my hometown.

I have no choice as I find my way to Derek’s room and knock on the door. “Who?” I heard his deep voice from inside and I shivered. Everything about him does things to me.

Silence for a while before I heard his voice again. “Come in”

I immediately backed him and covered my eyes with my palms. “What were you thinking? You should have given me a heads-up that you were dressing and I would have waited for some minutes” I complained but I heard him chuckle. It sounded like a mocking chuckle.
“I don’t have anything to hide, you’ll see it tomorrow when we get to the beach”
“You!” I turned back and luckily he was in his shirt and shorts already. A smirk was dancing around his lips as he strolled past me.
So damn arrogant!
We finished dinner as promised and everyone went to bed except me because Taylor handed me some erotic books, she said I’d need them if I was serious about changing. I got to a scene where an older guy is kissing a girl, he lifts her and makes her sit on the desk in his room before making her sit and his hands begin to caress her thigh, going higher, higher, and higher.
I don’t know why but as I read, I keep getting jealous of my kiss with Derek. I can’t take this, I need water. I peeped at Taylor and she was already sound asleep then I slowly got off the bed, still holding the book as I found my way downstairs but I was blessed with the back view of a male silhouette that looked familiar.
“Derek?” I called and he turned to me.

“Why are you up by this time and what are you doing here alone?” I ask, trying not to look at his body so I don’t get distracted with so many thoughts. 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴. Then my eyes moved to what he was holding and I looked up at him in a bit of surprise.
“I thought I told you smoking is bad? Seriously Derek what happened to you? Why the sudden change of personality?” I ask he doesn’t reply, instead, he’s looking at my hand and I follow his gaze to see what he’s looking at.
My cheeks turned red. I realize I still have the erotic book I was reading.
“Are you that desperate about wanting to change to a bad girl?” He finally took his gaze to my face.
“It’s not a bad girl. I just want to mature” I defend myself.
“Hmm… I see” I couldn’t read his expression or voice. “And you needed me to help you” He then did an air quote with his hands. “Mature”
I sigh. “I know it seems silly to you and it’s even more silly that I asked you and kissed you. Forget what I did, I’ll just find someone else who can help me” I went to the kitchen to take a glass of water. My throat burnt, I didn’t like that he looked down on me. He has never brought up the kiss and when I mention it he always acts like it’s nothing, it’s a dust-off.
Of course, it’s nothing. I’m still fifteen and inexperienced probably not a good kisser like pretty blond girl and I know they’ve broken up now but I still feel so insecure. I wish I was everything but myself not just for Derek but maybe the other kids can think I’m cool.

“What are you-”
I couldn’t complete what I was about to say when he rested one of his hands on the refrigerator, Caging me. His eyes are dark.
“I will do it,” He says.
“What?” My head is spinning. He’s too close I can’t think straight.
“I mean you don’t have to ask anyone to corrupt you. I will do it and teach you how to be the bad girl you’re not and once I start, there’s no going back so tell me, Dove, do you want that?”
