Alfredo Cahe, known as the doctor of the famous, passed away last Friday, September 13. Here is his biography:
Alfredo Cahe , former doctor of Diego Armando Maradona, died this Friday at the age of 80, as confirmed by Daniel Scioli , Secretary of Sports of La Nación: ” With deep sorrow I say goodbye to my dear friend Alfredo Cahe, recognized for his professional and human qualities .”
He also added: ” I will always remember his medical work and his spiritual and solitary support to overcome adversity, as well as his values in the friendship that we were able to build. A fraternal hug for his children, grandchildren, family and friends .”
As for the cause of his death, Scioli did not provide any details, so the reasons for his passing are still unknown. He left this world at the age of 80.
Who was Alfredo Cahe?
Alfredo Cahe graduated as a surgeon from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), had extensive experience in private medicine, and was specialized in intensive care.
However, despite this, he achieved fame for being the family doctor of the 1986 world champion in Mexico between 1977 and 2017, in addition to treating other Argentine television celebrities, including Susana Giménez, former president Carlos Menem and singer Sandro, the latter two now deceased.
As for his family life, he was married to María Marta del Valle, with whom he had three children: Julieta, a psychiatric doctor; Peter, an engineer; and Silvana, also a doctor.
How did you meet Diego Maradona?
Perhaps his most famous patient was the historic Diego Armando Maradona , whom he met through Pelusa’s first representative, Jorge Cyterspiler, who wanted the number 10 to gain muscle mass.
” When I met him, I had a couple of X-rays done at the Hospital Clínicas and I couldn’t find anything wrong. He was very skinny and I had one of those intuitions: I gave him samples of vitamins for him to take. I also asked Jorge Cyterspiler to give him meat, because he was eating soup and noodles. Little by little he started to improve and after a while he got better. The diagnosis was that he lacked vitamins because he was poorly fed. That’s how the relationship with Diego began ,” the doctor said in the past.
