The rain was still pouring.

Bernie remained standing this time, watching her drift farther and farther.

Richie lodged in one of the cheapest rooms in the hotel since it’s the only option for now, thanks to Mira’s card.
He entered the room walking like he’s tired of his own existence.

His face and lips were looking so pale as he entered the bathroom and stripped.
He entered the cold shower, and his flu went up, but he doesn’t even care.
He got his phone, and his hand was shaking as he went to his contacts.
He blocked Ruby, Jillian, and Won. Every member of the evil family who used him.
He clicked on Celine’s WhatsApp line and pressed the voice message recorder.
“If you’re conscious already and listening to this, come to Seoul as soon as possible and say the truth about the accident, else I don’t mind going to jail for real. I’ll kill you” he said.
Immediately he sent the voice note, he blocked her too, then he went to Lovie’s DM.
The last message she sent to him was a video of her dressing up for school.

The video ended there, and Richie dropped the phone, sniffing as he took his bath as slowly as possible.
For over an hour, he was in the tub, and when he came out, he got a call from Jacob.
He hesitated before picking.

“Don’t call me that” Richie interrupted.
“Ok, Rich boy tell me…
“Don’t call me that too” Richie interrupted dryly again.
“Where are you Richie?” Jacob asked calmly, and he told him his location.
He dropped the phone and dressed up in comfy hood and black pants provided by the hotel.
Immediately he sat on the bed, the telephone on the bedstand rang.
He picked without waiting. “Let him in” he said and dropped it.
Two minutes later, Jacob opened the door and came in.
“Dude” he walked to the bed and hugged him.
Richie quickly broke the hug.
“How did you manage? Mrs. Jillian held a press conference some minutes ago. She told the whole Seoul that you were adopted when your family abandoned you, and that you left the family after stealing a huge sum of money” he said, and Richie nodded.
“I was expecting that much, she’s not a human anyways”
“You never told me you were adopted” Jacob said, looking at him pitifully.
“I didn’t tell anyone except Lovie” he replied.
“I’m so sorry you had to go through all these” Jacob said.
“I’ll be fine” Richie said.
“Don’t hesitate to ask me if you need anything. You once payed my school fees for two semesters back then in Harvard remember? I’ll gladly give you anything” Jacob said, and Richie nodded.
Jacob hugged him afterwards.
“Can you sleep here tonight?” He asked.
“With pleasure” Jacob replied.

Bernie and Lovelyn didn’t talk to each other since they arrived. They only changed into dry clothes and entered their respective rooms.
They were still in when Mira came in.
She hasn’t settled down when Everest came in too.
“Good thing you came. Why did you instruct us not to tell Richie about Lovelyn’s whereabouts?” She faced him.
“Cos Mrs. Jillian Kim is one of my suspects, and if you told him about it, who knows if she has a tracker on him and the moment she traces him here, it’d be over” he replied.
“Wait… you’re saying she’s part of the cult?” Bernie asked, coming out of the room.
“They’re all powerful women, and all the wives of rich men in this country are my suspects” Everest replied, and Lovelyn came out too.

“He came to you?” Lovelyn walked fast to her.
“Me too, I met him” Everest replied.
“Why did you guys not reveal my location then? He can’t be alone at a time like this I badly wanna see him and stay with him” Lovelyn started crying.
“Calm down Lyn” Bernie tried to make her sit, but she broke free and started walking out of the house.
“Lovelyn stop this ok? It’s dangerous for you out there. What if the cops get you again?” Everest held her back.
“I don’t care, I just want to see Richie. He can’t be alone right now…he can’t…
“Then all of our efforts will be in vain? Bernie getting shot and disowned, being wanted. It’d go to waste?” Mira said, and Lovelyn sat weakly on the ground, crying gently.
Mira squatted beside her and started patting her back.
“You have a new life now. Try to explore it. Kim Won is your father and you should use that to your advantage” she said.

SAME NIGHT, KINGS HOTEL*
“So….what’s the next step now? Are you really letting him go after telling lies on him? Are you letting Lovelyn live despite being exposed as your husband’s daughter?” Mrs. Han asked from the middle of the cult women.
“All what I had planned got ruined, and now I have to draw another plan. Telling the lie was to make companies avoid hiring him. Who’d hire a thief?” Jillian replied.
