He had been so sure that it was Tafeko taking revenge on him for sleeping with his wife for days, and went all out to deal with Tafeko.
“Whatever it is that made us realize that we have been here all along, is an indication that we can get out of this place before nightfall” Bruce told his wife as they began to make their way out of the shrine.
This time, it didn’t take Bruce so long to find the point the drunkard had left him when he was coming to the shrine.
He was so happy with how things appeared to be favouring him and his wife as they raced down the road, making their way out of the forest.
Bruce and Tracy found themselves out of the forest in no time, and it got Tracy scrèaming rather too loudly in excitement.
Tracy wanted nothing but to go home to her parents, but Bruce thought otherwise.
“If I was the chief priest and you escaped from the shrine when I had plans to ensure that I took advantage of you, in the name of cleansing, I would rush to your father’s house to find you!
“And if my guesses are right, the chief priest could already be in your father’s compound as we speak” Bruce told her.
“What are we going to do now? I have been tying this wrapper since the day I left home. It is now stained and shouldn’g still be on me. What are we going to do?” Tracy asked
“My car is still parked in your father’s compound, we can’t go to Porthacourt without it, so we will get a place to lay our heads for the night, and see your parents tomorrow morning before we leave for Porthacourt” Bruce proposed
Tracy thought about how she wished to see her mother, and how she wanted so bãdly to tell her all that had happened, but she needed to be as far away as she could be from Ozonge.
The last thing she wanted was to run into him, and have him casting some forms of spell on her again, so she agreed with Bruce, but quickly made a suggestion on how to get a dress for her.
Bruce hailed a commercial bike man, had him take them to the nearest city where they could find a decent accommodation.
He located a hotel quickly, booked a room and got them settling comfortably into the luxurious room he booked.
Tracy looked around her, talking in the beauty of the scenery and began to imagine what she could have done in her past life to deserve a man as caring and loving as Bruce.
The room had a big bed at one far end, with clean pink bedsheets neatly spread on it, and a soft looking duvet, folded over it. The bed was bearing decorations that could made it pass for a royal bed!

“And my love, dreams come true! Yes, because just as I have always planned to marry a girl that even Cinderella would envy, I found you.
“You must have seen the prince charming in me, and chose me, out of the multitude of men that flocked around you then.
“I am yet to give you the dream wedding, but I reckoned that we can as well have our wedding night, just as you have always wanted, since we are already traditionally married, so I thought of getting us here.
“And I hope that you like it here my love” Bruce told her, hugging her from behind, as she nodded in affirmation.
She threw her head backwards, resting it on his shoulder, such that he only had to tilt his head just a little bit, to have his mouth lying next to hers.
They both fell silent at once, remaining motionless as their hearts began to thud rhythmically in unison.
