(👫 Her Scent, His Weakness 🧡)
Megan’s jaw dropped..
“Anna!”
Megan scurried quickly to Iris’s side. Iris was in tears already.
“Anna! Anna!” she called tapping the girl but their was no response. Anna wasn’t moving.
“Let’s get out of here” Megan said she was breathing heavily already. She doesn’t want to believe it but their might still be a chance to save the girl.
••• Greenville Hospital, Dallas •••
Iris rubbed her hands together as she paced the hall, she was still in her pyjamas but she didn’t care anyway. Her eyes were bloodshot..
Anna was the only family she had left, her parents were gone and there was no way she’d go back to her stepfather and brothers. Not after what they did to her. Anna mustn’t die.. she can’t.
Megan sat quietly, her arms were crossed. She bowed her head lightly. She could feel the sting of tears but she wasn’t gonna cry. If she does, then there’s no way to comfort Iris. Iris needs her now more than ever. But what could be wrong with Anna, she was okay when she went to bed.. how?
A doctor emerged from the ER (Emergency room) and Megan sprang up immediately, Iris rushed to the doctor who had a pitiful look on his face.
“The family of Savannah Ollie?” he asked and Iris nodded as she sniffed.
The doctor sighed softly and shook his head..
“What’s wrong with her? She’s okay right?” Megan asked.
“She got food poisoning and..” the man paused studying the faces of both women.
Iris’s face was pale.. food poisoning. How? When?
“… she’s has fifty percent of survival and unfortunately lost a lot of blood. She’s gonna need a donor” The man said and Iris covered her face with her hands, her body shook violently.
Megan drew Iris into a hug..
“Is there no way to get blood from the hospital?” Megan asked and the doctor shook his head.
“I think it’s better we discuss this in my office” the man said and nodded at the both of them before walking ahead of them.
“I’m Doctor Shaw” the man said with a smile as they walked to his office, but the ladies weren’t even listening.
•••
“Her condition got worst because she stayed overnight but she’s a strong kid most children won’t have made it” Doctor Shaw said as he pointed a seat for the women.
“How bad is she?” Megan asked and Shaw clasped his hands together.
“Like I said fifty percent of survival, she needs all the prayers she can get but right now the earlier she gets blood, the safer” he said tilting his head to the side.
“I will donate” Iris said for the first time since they arrived.
The doctor nodded and smiled lightly..
“Your daughter’s blood group is one of the rarest.. she’s an A+ and that’s what we don’t have.. so if you’re sure, we could test your blood to make sure it matches with hers otherwise I would suggest you call her father” Shaw said and Iris’s face fell.
Why does everything revolves around Anna’s father? She had no idea who he was.. her daughter was in her deathbed and if her blood doesn’t matches with Anna, then…
“Yeah, I’m sure it’d match.. like she’s my daughter isn’t she?” Iris smiled trying to convince herself. The doctor shrugged and reached for a syringe.
“I would like mine to be tested too.. just in case” Megan muttered and Iris smiled at her.

Work was hectic, Bradley was being more bossy than ever. One would know something was wrong with him.
He’d already fired more than five employees and still counting..
No one could talk to him not even his P. A, everyone tried their best to stay out of his way.
Jocelyn stared at the screen blankly, the boss had never been the nicest person but still he had never been this hard on any of his employees.
She was still thinking when there was a knock on the door..
She sat straight, arranging her hair..
“Come in” she said loud enough for the person to hear. She frowned when she saw who walked in..
Winifred smirked and sat on her desk..
“What’s the meaning of this?” She asked. Winifred had never been in her good book, infact, they used to be college mates.
“I never thought you could be this evil.. she was innocent yunno” she faked a sad face.
Jocelyn was disguarded but immediately put on a tough face.
“I won’t tolerate you coming in here and spluttering rubbish.. you’d better leave” she said bluntly and Winifred smirked.
“Quit acting like a saint.. everyone knows you don’t have a liking to anyone who gets close to the boss and she being the Secretary only made you hate her” Win said and Jocelyn blinked.
“I have no idea of what you are talking about” she muttered.
“What if I tell the boss.. you were behind the theft?” she asked, Jocelyn looked at her blankly for a while before chuckling.
“And what makes you think he’s gonna believe you?”
“Because I have proof baby” Winifred smirked..

Bradley stared at his phone… another note. He sighed switching it off.
He had not been able to do anything useful throughout the day and it was f**king annoying that she’d been the one on his mind.
For goodness sake, he wanted to make peace.. he would had apologized but all he got was a hit in the head and a nasty behavior from her friend or whatever..
It was disturbing that she’d never gotten her first pay, even if she wants to quit working for him at least, she should get paid.
He had not checked what’s going on in the other offices.. he had even disconnected the camera to the office she shared with his P. A.
There was this business trip he would had loved her to come along.. he usually goes on business trips with Jocelyn but this time around the two of them would had gone with him.. but this messed everything up.
He ruffled his hair… she’s driving him crazy. He grabbed his phone and made his way out of the office. His guards made to follow him..
“Stay back and watch the company, I would take Bernie with me.. to avoid getting hit in the head again” he had muttered the last part to himself so the guards probably didn’t hear it.
He walked away with one guard following him, most of the workers mumbled as he walked past them..
👥 I don’t think boss is okay
👥 I have never seen him like this..
👥 Herrick was fired, according to the boss he was acting too clumsy
👥 I almost got fired too..
Bradley ignored all the comments he could hear cos if he was to turn back, his company would be almost empty. He still had to look for people to replace the ones he already fired.
For now, there was only one thing in his mind…

“The results are out Miss. Ollie” Shaw announced flagging a piece of paper as he walked into the office.
Iris rubbed her face with her palms inwardly she was praying..
“What does it say?” Iris asked nervously, Shaw heaved and shook his head.
“Unfortunately none of your blood matches her blood group.. we’ll need to see her father” Shaw said and Iris’s heart fell.
Wait.. what?
“Her.. father?” Iris stuttered, she was trying hard not to cry.
“Yeah.. it’s in the DNA of every child, one of the parents blood group matches with that of the child.. in some cases where the parents are off the hook, relatives comes in” Shaw explained and Iris could feel her eyes burn.
That nightstand was one of the things she badly regretted and wish she could turn back the hands of the time.
“Family members?” Megan asked and Dr. Shaw nodded.
“Give us a sec please” Megan pleaded and signalled Iris to meet her outside.
“This is bad” Megan groaned when they were out of the office.
Iris shook her head..
“We have to find a donor or.. ” she sniffed and Megan pulled her into a hug.
“She’d be fine, let’s be positive.. we will find a donor” Megan cooed, Iris froze and Megan noticed it.
“Hey, you alright?” she asked pulling back to look at Iris.
Iris blinked..
What the hell would her boss.. no, ex-boss be doing here?..
