Two Days Later.
Laura’s Dad’s POV
It was a beautiful morning. One of a kind!
Laura’s dad’s face beamed with a smile at the thought of the good news he heard from the private investigator.
The thought of Laura returning home soon made him excited. He couldn’t wait to share the good news with his wife.
At first, he wanted to go to the kitchen to meet his wife on impulse but later he changed his mind. He decided he was going to tell his wife and Priscilla while they are eating at the Dining table.
Laura’s mom was preparing fried eggs and yam for breakfast while Priscilla was washing the dishes.
Later the food was done and Laura’s mom served everyone their portion on the table.
Priscilla brought a jug filled with cold water and she put it on the table with glass cups.
All was set, and soon they started eating.
When Laura’s father had taken three spoonfuls of the meal he stopped eating and spoke.
“Attention darling and Priscilla. I know it’s bad manners to talk while eating but I will like you two to pause eating for a while. I will be quick.”

Priscilla who was perplexed by the excited look on Laura’s dad’s face kept mute.
“Have got good news. Guess. I will like you and Priscilla to guess darling.”

Laura’s mom said impulsively.
“Nope, it’s not that. Priscilla, what’s your guess?”
Laura’s dad asked.
“Although I hate to ruin this moment I think the good news is about Laura. I just hope I am right.”

Laura’s dad locked his eyes with that of his wife and spoke.
“Well the private investigator just called this morning and he said he and his team are closer to finding Laura. He told me he already has an idea of who kept Laura hostage and they will be brought to book soon.”
“Woooww!”
Priscilla jumped for joy while Laura’s mom opened her mouth in shock. She couldn’t believe her ears.
“Honey, what did you just say?”
“Exactly what I said before darling. Our daughter will be back home soon.”
“Oh, God!”
Laura’s mom dropped her spoon on the table and sobbed. She was carried away by her emotions.
“Honey, why are you crying? I thought you would be happy and rest assured after I share this news. But now I realized what I thought was the opposite. Please wipe the tears on your face.”
Laura’s dad gave his wife a handkerchief.

He took a bottle of wine from the fridge and poured it into three glass cups.

Priscilla and his wife went forward and they toasted.
After they finished toasting they settled down and drank the wine.
The taste of the wine was refined. Laura’s mom wanted more but her husband assured her he would give her more if she finishes the meal on the table.
Laura’s mom gave her husband “the I give in look”, and continued eating her meal.
Priscilla was excited after she heard the news and finished eating in no time. She couldn’t wait to see Laura again.
Laura was like a child to her. She was a darling who wiped away her tears from the past and made her feel like a mother again.
Charles was in the intensive unit discussing with Dracole when he got a call. The call was from a spy Dracole had planted in the drug den. The spy was Dracole’s eyes and ears in case trouble was looming. The spy had tried Dracole’s three lines several times but it was not available. Since the information he wanted to give out was urgent he decided to call Charles. The spy had forgotten he had collected Charles’s line from Dracole one day when they had a meeting.
It was In his desperation to reach out to Dracole that he remembered he had Charles’s phone number stored in a book he kept in his luggage.
Charles asked Dracole to give him a minute that he needed to attend to the call.
Dracole gave Charles a go-ahead and he went outside.
Charles picked the call up and spoke.
“Hello, sniper good morning what’s up?”
“There’s nothing good about the morning. Danger looms bro .”
“What happened?”
“Boss ordered for Dracole’s head.”
“What? When did he do that? And why?”
“Oga e don reach three days wey boss order for Dracole’s head oo. He has found out Dracole is the son of the woman he butchered in the past. He’s afraid Dracole is an enemy. He thinks Dracole came to align with him for revenge so he wants to move fast before Dracole strikes. I have been trying to reach Dracole several times but his lines weren’t available. I even stylishly tried to check his phone the day we came to the hideout but I didn’t see it. I forgot I had your line stored in a book.
It was yesterday I found out you guys were in the hospital and am sure one shot would soon find out where you guys are soon. That’s if he doesn’t know already. Make una pack every load wey una get comot from hospital oo. One shot is very deadly and you know that.”
“Dracole hasn’t recovered yet. I doubt the doctor will let us leave.”
“Then escape nah. Do I need to tell you that again? See delay at your own risk oo. It’s thanks to my distraction tactics one shot doesn’t know where you guys are yet. Dracole is strong. Tell him what happened he will definitely move. I gat to hang up. I can hear a footstep.”
Sniper cut the call.
He hid his phone when he saw it was One shot from the entrance.
“Boss”.
Sniper hailed one shot.
“We need to move now.”

“To where boss? I still have some works to finish on my table.”
“Since when did you begin to question my orders, moron? Who gave you the fucking job to do anyways?”
One shot thundered.
“I Am sorry boss.”
Sniper said while trembling.
He took his phone under his boxer immediately one shot left the room.
Sniper sent Charles a message to inform him that One shot had just ordered him to move. He wrote to Charles that he wasn’t sure where one shot wanted him to go with him but he was sure that it was the hospital Dracole was admitted in.
He told Charles to hurry up. Staying in The hospital any longer wasn’t safe.
Charles was perplexed pacing around the hospital when the message came in. Immediately he saw the message he dashed into Dracole’s unit.
Dracole was dozing when he came in. He raised Dracole’s head and removed the drip Dracole was placed on.
“What the hell are you doing?”
Dracole asked in shock.
“We need to move boss here isn’t safe anymore.”
“Move to where? My back aches man I can’t move an inch.”
“Boss with all due respect if we don’t move in the next hour you will suffer more than back pain.”
“Is that a threat?”
“Not a threat. The crazy drug lord already found out about your mission. He’s out hunting for your head.”
“How come am just knowing this? Why didn’t sniper call?”
“Your lines haven’t been available. Your two phone’s batteries went flat and I wasn’t able to charge them. Dude told me he forgot he had my line. Anyways we need to move Boss. It isn’t cool here anymore.”
“Where’s Laura?”
“Oops, she went to get food.”
“I can’t go without her. It’s risky putting Laura out there all alone. She isn’t even aware of this region. We need to wait for her.”
“Boss no time we can fetch her later.”
“You are high on drugs moron. You are crazy if you think I would leave Laura all alone just because I want to save my life a life she saved in the first place. Hand me your phone I need to make a call.”
“If the call is to sniper it isn’t safe. He could be in the midst of a meeting or something. I would advise we move now.”
“Check outside. Laura must be on her way.”
Charles hissed and reluctantly went out to search for Laura. He felt Dracole was wasting time and he didn’t want the men to come in and meet them in the hospital.
He had not walked too far when he spotted Laura.
He ran and told Laura they were not safe in the hospital anymore.
“Where do we go now?”
Laura asked.
“No questions lady. We need to go now.”
Laura and Charles ran back to the hospital.
When they returned to the hospital they disguised themselves and went out together with Dracole.
Dracole had advised Charles they needed to disguise because he was certain the doctor wouldn’t release him because he had not fully recovered.
After they went out of the hospital they entered the car and Charles drove at speed.
Charles became worried when he realized a car was trailing them from the back. He thought it was one shot and his gangs but it wasn’t them.
He cursed under his breath when the car suddenly stopped and refused to move. He told Dracole they needed to use another car.
Luckily for them, Charles was able to overthrow a man who was preparing to start his car. He hit the man with a pistol and the man passed out.
He told Laura to enter and he helped Dracole in.
He started the car and moved.
He drove with full force this time around.
When they reached a safe area Charles parked so he could look for food. Dracole told him he was hungry.
Laura stayed behind to look after Dracole. Dracole’s eyes were dull as a result of the stress.
Later Laura was pressed. When she couldn’t hold it anymore she went into the back of an enclosed site to urinate.
She felt relieved after she was through. She was adjusting her undies when she felt a gun pointed at her head.
“Where’s Dracole?”
The voice thundered.
“I don’t know where he is.”
Laura shivered.
“One more lie and I blow your brains off. Now lead the way.”
Laura flickered when she turned and saw how bad the man’s face was. His face wasn’t appealing he had several stitches on his face that made him look like a monster.
Laura wondered if Charles had returned or if Dracole was all alone in the car. She wished she had the means to inform the two of the danger at hand.
Her heart was pounding fast as she walked with a gun pointed at her head.
