“Where are you Joe? Get yourself here now or you’d be meeting me deåd!” Farida spoke into her phone frantically, panting as she spoke.
“Calm down Farida, I’m on my way now. Please try to breath, I’m coming to you now!” Joe spoke fearfully into his phone’s mouthpiece and began to wear his clothes quickly.
“Look, I’m sorry Nkem, but you know I have to go. I’ll find a way around all of these soon and see how I can make things get back to the way it used to be” he begged Nkem who just sat on the bed, looking at him as he hurriedly dressed up and ran out of her room.
“So that’s it? She’s taking you away from me again tonight? No, tell me Joe, Farida is going to have you totally for keeps, while I Saturday like this forever, whether I’m well or not?
“And you dare embarras me this way, getting me in this state only to run off to meet the little bràt?” Nkem asked her husband in annoyance.
“No no no. It’s not like that. I’ll just check and find out what’s wrong with her, then I’ll return to you. You’ll see me soon. Please don’t be màd at me. I’ll soon come back
Joe was feeling very bad, that he had only found the chance to come be with Nkem after making her several promises, only to have Farida literally yank him away from her, when they were already out of their clothes and were already kissing passionately.
Nkem sat against the wall, looking so dejected, then tears began to flow down her beautiful face.
“I never bargained for this! Father Lord, I never imagined it’ll come down to this! What have I don’t to myself?” Nkem lamented, so heartbroken and hūrt.
She closed her eyes to shut out the tears that stung so bãdly, and had them flowing down her cheeks as memories of how it all started began to flood her mind.
“I picked Farida myself. I chose her for Joe because I felt she would be like a daughter to me. I was hoping I won’t have to suffer this much pain, having to share him with her because she understood my pains, but I guess I was wrong after all!
“And Mandy, her mother, how could she have suddenly turned to a stranger I can’t recognize just because her daughter is now pregnant for my husband?
“We planned this in a way that everyone ought to have been in a very happy state now. Why have I been pushed aside in my own home, and made to appear as the strange woman in my own house?
“Oh Jackie! If only I had listened to you and waited some more. I’ll actually not feel this bad if this stàb I’m getting from Mandy is coming from another person!
“Yes, it would have been less painful because I would have been prepared for the blow before it reached me. But I was caught unawares, and stàbbed so calloūsly and maliciòusly. What is my hope now?” Nkem soliloquized paìnfully.
“What’s the problem Farida? Why did you have to sound so distressed over the phone when you’re in fact very okay?” Joe asked Farida looking very unhappy with her.
“Oh, so you were wishing to meet me deåd? You would have preferred that I was dead before you got here?
“The fact that your child, your first child is in me doesn’t even count for a thing now right?” Farida asked Joe, forcing tears to her eyes.
“Now what have I said to make you sound this way? I only asked why you were sounding as if you were dyïng when you called, when you knew well enough that I was meant to pass the night in my wife’s room!” Joe told her, sitting down dejectedly on the seat opposite the bed.
“Wow! You were meant to pass the night with your wife, like I’m your sister!” Farida complained àngrily, deep lines of frown forming on her young face.
“You know what I mean Farida. I know it’s not easy for you, considering your condition, but you should also remember that Nkem my wife was the one who got you into this house in the first place, because if she had t allowed me, I wouldn’t have married you.
“So I expected you to know that playing this kind of tricks that you keep playing to keep me away from her perpetually is very inhumàne!” Joe told her harshly and turned to walk away, but stopped in his track the very next second.
“Okay Joe, go ahead and walk out. Get out of that door and see what I’ll do about it! I’ll do something very crãzy and you know how to treat a pregnant wife, and the one that has refused to get pregnant since forever.
“Are you hesitating? No go ahead and leave this room and see if I won’t be rid of this pregnancy that’s keeping me in your home even when you just don’t see me as a woman” Farida threàtened, and Joe found himself walking back to her.
“Why do you have to be this way Farida? Why are you causing us all these pains? This wasn’t the plan from the beginning!
“We all agreed that you become my wife because of my wife’s inability to give me a child after so many years of marriage. You promised never to come between my wife and I, but you’re doing the exact opposite just a few months after our marriage. Please don’t make me have to always be in a fux.
“”My wife has been sick these past weeks, and you don’t allow me stay a moment by her sides, and it is very bad.
“I even asked you to allow me spend at least night with her in one week, but you refused, agreeing that I only go there once in a fortnight.
“Now, this night that I’m supposed to go there, you also want to systematically pull me away from her. It’s wrong Farida. You’re both my wives” Joe told her, forcing himself to sound less annoyed.
.”Okay, so because you’re meant to stay with her, you don’t care that my body is itching for you, and I want you right now? You don’t care that I’m already so wēt and need you inside me?” She asked him, walking up to him and touching him everywhere.
Joe wasn’t happy with what she was seeing, but his small man was! And in a matter of minutes, he was under the duvet going as fast as he could, yet, the young blōõd was screàming “harder, faster Joe”.
It didn’t matter to Joe that the little girl who had always called him “Uncle” now called him by his name, and had become so domineering and demanding, neither did he worry about the fact that he had promised to return to Nkem that night because he was too carried away with the ecstasy of riding a young girl with full and firm breãsts, who kept telling him how much of a stud he is, and how she wanted nothing, but to be his woman forever, blessing his house with children to surround his stable.
